How could Rika be so IGNORANT though? She never bothers to check on Satoko after the incident. Does she know she was put into a prison cell?? She could of approached her and Satoko would of never assumed she was betrayed.

According to Rika, she did try dozens of efforts to get Satoko in her group and asked if she wanted to hang out with her. But every time Satoko would refuse her offer. It's because of the time skip, that we dont get to see it. It's not like Rika completely forgot about Satoko, or just doesnt care about her anymore. Satoko was the one who kept pushing her away. Rika defended Satoko when the other girls were bad mouthing her, or when Satoko pulled a childish prank that caused one of the girls to get seriously hurt, even though Rika knew it was Satoko, she didnt snitch on the teacher and kept quiet. It was only one of the girls that exposed Satoko, that caused her to be in prison. We have seen that Rika asked Satoko if she wanted to hang out with her and her friends, but Satoko said no. Rika again asked if she wanted to study and Satoko said: "dont make assumptions about me Rika, I have friends and stuff to do." I dont understand why everyone are hating on Rika even though she didnt really do anything wrong. If anything Satoko is at fault.
Both of them are to blame, honestly. Satoko rejected Rika's help. But in this particular scene, Rika told Satoko "quiet" because of what other people might think.

As far as I care I can not in good consciouness consider this Gou/Sotsu garbage as cannon, to me Higurashi ends when the OG novel ends. This OVA crap is too terrible for me to consider canon
rika is so out of character here. she's acting like satoko is inferior to her, and completely discards her personality and friendship to satoko. i feel so bad for satoko, especially since she already shows signs of cptsd from abuse, and now her best friend is also acting emotionally manipulative towards her.
Satoko actually deserve Better, she did not only hurt a student by a prank accident but she also got jailed in a room for punishment. She passed a lot of torments even for her uncle in Higurashi Kai. I feel just sorry for her ;(
Wow! This school runs special class without a teacher and most people keeps complaining about Satoko and few people about rika. When a student falls low in grades, losses intrest in studies, dosen't have friends, is alone at a place where pure hearts children of their age are present then it is the job of a teacher to discuss their personal problems, explain weak topics and give them proper guidance how to complete their backlog BUT THE TEACHERS JAILED HER, GAVE HER Question booklet to solve without theory and so on. I honestly think Satoko was just being herself as a result she didn't made any new friends lost her only friend moreover people started hating her (both students in school as well as higurahi fans). Is this what you get for being yourself? Satoko still didn't shed tears and was cheerful among among others. Of course what Satoko did after being reincarnator was wrong after all their is a reason why she is villain. On a separate note: If my English is poor or I made a few spelling mistake, grammatical mistakes and Satoko never lost her only friend then I Don't give a fuck about it.
So I wondered, What happened to Satoko in this timeline. is it gonna be something like they waited for Satoko at Angel Mort but she never came because she disappeared into the Kakera world?
i think she's still in this timeline when she returns, in the same place. if i remember correctly, they end up looking for her and find her at the shrine
@anomalous34 Well, Rika did tell Satoko that she offered her a hand when her grades dropped and that Satoko just pushed it away. Err... Maybe this seems incorrect and irrelevant.
The problem is, her evil is by no means something such bad experiences can motivate unless she was suffering from Hinamizawa syndrome despite that not being the case or has an extreme case of derealization or extreme black and white thinking. Also, they never bother properly explaining how her status as a witch would affect her personality. I am not against the idea of her being an antagonist but the execution just wasn't good. How can she do all that she did without even a modicum of regret? How was all that in character for her? Were all her friends simply nothing for her? Did nothing exist for her on an emotional plane other than her ideal world where Rika listens to her wishes? Same with Rika. She can be allowed be toxic and emotionally negligent to her but this is way too overboard. Keep in mind, they were the bestest of friends until a while ago. You aren't gonna stand up to your friend and realize how hurt she is at all? It's one thing if you can't always help her and sometimes straight up ignore her, it's another thing when you almost do nothing for her other than praising her sometimes when talking to people who probably hate her and then frown when all that bites you.
Why didn't Satoko reach out to Rika saying she'd been sent to the basement jail? Even if she just wrote a letter it would've been better than just letting everything fester for as long as it did
Both trying to catch each other, in the end they are still doing that.... but the wicked ways that human cannot understand. only them, and their "language of love". one going to left, another going to right, and would certainly meet on spesific point, if miracle exist. poor the soul, poor the witch.
As someone who watched Sotsu whole, I didn't have any idea what the East and West, up and down dialogue meant. Apparently it's similar to one of Ryukishi07's other visual novels.
(also the saint lucia girls are assholes satoko says good morning politelly and they say "erm this isnt apropriate for a lady like rika🤓" they are SIMPS😭😭😭
Guys, i think satoko's immense breakdown / satoko agreeing to start the loops over wasnt just because of her temper, but isnt Satoko always stuck to level 3 of hinamizawa syndrome? Even with treatment, if shes away from her village the effects will worsen
I mean yes and no. Rika was just tortured for 100 years in the same village. She finally had access to new people and knowledge, and felt like she could finally escape her trauma this ONE time. Sadly Satoko ended up dejected because Rika made it all about her feelings and not her best friend.

@@grim.8694 She let peer pressure and dreams of grandeur destroy her friendship. All that looping must have got to her head, she probably thought of Satoko as expendable. She probably figured she'd see her again next loop anyways. I understand Rika's position completely, but she's not innocent.

@@anomalous34 i mean, after living in misery for 100 years, i don't think you're going to be completely okay. especially if those 100 years has been an endless loop of the same (ish) events, people, and such, and all you've had is the hope that someday, somehow, you'll find a way out of that loop. so once that hope comes true and the loop is broken, she forgets what's really important because she's too busy being happy over the fact that she _made it out_ and she can dream for real now. obv this doesn't excuse her actions, she was still being kinda shitty, but it may explain it. it's just tragic all the way through
