There's so many different ways Satoko could've played that off, as if she could've faked having a memory lapse of a alternate universe but I guess the miracle thing would've given Rika the truth either way

Agreed. I mean Rika was remembering/having visions of recent fragments where Satoko was killing her/orchestrating the murders. It would be harder to deny considering that power. If it weren't for those new scenes I'd blame Satoko for pulling the gun instead of playing dumb more.

There was a few surprises but honestly I thought it was one of the most stale ones. Lots of repetitive footage, some Hanyuu pog reactions tossed in. Mega filler, which sucks cuz 2 episodes left. The best scene was 7:11 because ship

i’ve always loved higurashi and i personally enjoyed gou and sotsu alot but i expected more from ryushiki, he’s a genius when it comes to horror writing in my opinion but the fact that all he was able to think of was satoko likes rika but rika wants to leave hinamizawa so lets have satoko torture her and kill everyone for years until rika finally understands that she doesn’t like to study, like what
@@anomalous34 yeah i loved gou and honestly i only kept watching sotsu just to see the deaths and stuff because half way into sotsu i kinda knew the ending wouldn’t be that great, i just hate the motivatio for satokos killing, it’s super petty and silly for how serious the old higurashi was
From what I've understood, Ryukishi only wrote the outline and didn't like the way anime did the story either, so the manga version of GouSotsu instead differs from the anime one and follows his intented story more. I haven't actually read the manga but I've heard it does Satoko's arc better.
He also had to eliminate Satoshi's influnence on Satoko to make her villian arc work. That's what you get when you want sequels. Perfection don't exist when there's nothing to add but when there's nothing to tale away. So if he want to add Satoko as a villian, he had to take away some of her more sane characteristics.
At this point, i have seen the other Higurashi...the only thing i understood is: Satoko is a girl who lives in loops, and Rika always gets a chance for die. I wonder what could have happened to Satoko if she didnt lived in loops, maybe she wouldnt do all the things she has done that Is with killing. Maybe thats the only that have could happened
regarding the very ending of the episode I have a few theories about how the last 2 episodes will go down (unless we get one final arc) It would either open up with Rika getting shot, or Keiichi, Mion, and Rena simultaneously grabbing Satoko to stop her from shooting Rika, and promptly restraining her. This means she can't kill Rika, or herself to move to the next fragment. The reason I think all of them will grab Satoko to stop her is due to the recurrent memory gain all of them have been getting. They'll hopefully remember the events from the fragments where Satoko injected them, and know she's been messing with some things, or at least the things don't seem right. While Satoko is restrained, Rika stabs her with the fragment from the Onigari-No-Ryouo, and kills the looper. She then is able to travel back to 1988 and talk things out with Satoko and everyone else at Angel mort, that, or she gets shot, Satoko Kills herself, and they fight each other in the sea of fragments, kind of like in the opening but better lol. This is just a theory, and Ryukiishi is a troll, so we don't exactly know what he's planning, but 15 episodes are definitely not enough to call these "answer" arcs..................................
I was with you until Rika stabs Satoko. If Satoko dies.. she won't loop with Rika again. She will be born into a world where Rika doesn't exist. Now perhaps "non looping Satoko" would return for Rika, but Satoko we know as the looper would be doomed and continue to live in a separate fragment.
I do think the last scene in ep 20 of Gou will continue on though, and Satoko will go to the restaurant, or the gang will find her at the shrine. That fragment never ended if I remember right. Nobody died.
lol these theories/hypothesis didn't happen and instead, satoko does shoot rika and murders her several times until RIka fights back and they have an epic discussion about their feelings/friendships and then they have an anime flying and timeloop battle with the sword onigiri while Hanyuu somewhat fights for a miracle against Eua.

My speculations are for the ending, but I'm not confident in them whatsoever, it's simply what we are being lead on to believe.
Logical answer: timeslot in Japan changed, had to censor to protect kids from gore. Loopilled schizo answer: An evil cabal of Remphan worshippers figured harvesting loosh would be easier by creating a lamenting effect on us viewers, instead of simply showing gore to kids, as they have a plethora of other media doing that already.

This really gives you a perspective why all the bad things happen to satoko she is a disgusting human being and when she was granted power she didn't act better like rika, she went on to be a full on tyrant. This is why the weak don't deserve power because they will abuse it every time
