Holy crap, watching this version, where Satoko legitimately manipulates the story from Minagoroshi-hen to her favor by manipulating her uncle into a really good guy, but also using the situation, where she fakes being abused is such a twisted idea. Like, she turned her uncle in a good guy and now she's using him? That's twisted...
You can kinda infer that in one loop her uncle did abuse her, and that was THAT type of reality, and this is just a different alternate reality version of her uncle whom she in fact does manipulate and eventually kill to set off certain events as a kind of trap for Rika, because rika has spent all of her time and endless lives to try to get the perfect outcome where nobody suffers and she’s no longer bound to one area. She is basically Lambda
@@johnathantufano8068 A bit more character AND an established force in the earlier shows. She and Satoko make up the stupid SURPRISE! Twist villain!!! trope and it’s getting old. Satoko will NEVER be intimidating or villainous. She’s always going to be the dumb little girl who builds traps. And now has an unhealthy obsession over Rika that came right the fuck outta nowhere
These emotions! Now Teppei is a good guy and for some reason Satoko is lying about being abused. Why? Why!? I know Higurashi is a mind fuck already but why is she doing this!?
@@HiMERUDMTOCHILL Thats exactly what happened. Only Ooishi was injected. When though? He went full blown syndrome quick.. so that's odd. Also remember Satoko changed her clothing? I bet she rolled in dirt again and told Teppei Keiichi did it. That or got dirty injecting Ooishi at some point.
@Roman Sucks Well she's doing it to manipulate the situation. Teppei remembered his past fragments, and returned as a good guy. Satoko needed the timeline the same (Teppei being abusive) in order to deceive Rika. She wants Rika sad so she can manipulate her into staying in the village with her. She needs her to mentally break first though, and give up on St. lucia
Are we supposed to believe there is a possibility that Satoko can win? We see her whole plan unravel in Gou. Rika has a blade that can kill loopers, can remember who killed her, and knows Satoko is a looper in Gou. Adding Sotsu's emphasis that Satoko always has to die second or lose Rika forever, I don't see how Satoko can possibly achieve her aim at this points with all of the outs that Rika has been presented. And now Eua is even just laughing at how she is losing her humanity too.
Would Rika actually kill Satoko with the sword though? Is there not going to be some kind of "intervention" with Rika and the gang to make Satoko see the light? Of course this would piss off Featherine, oh sorry I mean Eua. What would transpire if that happened? What about Hanyuu? Is Hanyuu Eua? She seems to be, in some way. Could they damage her horn? Lambdadelta tried that once, didn't work out well. What could Satoko really hope for at this point? That she succeeds? She can't after pulling the gun. Rika will know she's the evil looper now. Maybe they achieve a LOGIC ERROR? Could they both kill themselves with the sword? Does the sword even have powers? Theres lore saying it does but who knows really?
@@anomalous34 I honestly think that it is going to have to be Satoko and Rika coming together to work something out. The Intro hints that we are going to see older Keiichi, Mion, Shion, and Rena at some point and that will play into things. I personally think the most likely outcome is going to be a flip from the "follow Rika away to Hinamizawa or lose her" to Satoko being stuck on the path of a witch so Rika is going to have to follow Satoko away and become a witch in order to stay with her. Explaining the witches in the future. All of the rules of mystical blades and death order will probably just serve as narrative tension about whether Satoko will literally anything to the point of killing Rika seconds after waking up to get out/whether Rika is willing to kill herself with a looperblade/kill Satoko with a looper blade/kill Satoko before dying just to see the loop finally come to an end. I can't see them ever being able to take on Eua directly but they can probably both learn a lesson and leave Hinamizawa as witches.
@@BruslyBeast08 Sounds like the most reasonable outcome. I had a similar conclusion. I'm sure there will be an additional twist to all of this. Should be interesting, and hopefully not too predictable.

I wonder how this arc would play out since everything is completely different in the manga... And Satoko's path to evil is more reasonable than here in the anime... Also, Satoko most likely didn't kill Teppei in the manga as oppose to anime or atleast took Keichii to her house to kill him in the manga
@@Passions5555 well, it's because Manga Satoko literally got brainwashed by Eau... Satoko is not that obsessive with Rika in the manga either... To tell you what happened, basically Satoko had let go of Rika numerous times when she loops to take care of Satoshi but the outcomes doesn't change regardless of her decisions since it's either her, Rika or Satoshi or all of them would die... So, Manga Satoko thinks that no matter what decision she made, the tragedy would still happen, her, Rika and Satoshi dying so she rather do endless looping to relieve her happy moments before tragedy strikes
Don't worry, you wouldn't feel as bad if you saw his other fragments where he beats woman, thinks about mo1esting Satoko, and blackmails people while littering everywhere he goes. His drug and booze addictions also have him draining taxes from hard working citizens who have to pay for his section 8 housing and jail time.
Just because Satoko is crazy and Rika’s leaving she’s off her but, I understand but geez wtf!??! (Trauma and BPD and maybe even C-PTSD could explain it but it’s not an excuse.) Satoko is mindbroken but this sounds like either she’s being controlled or (Nobody considered the possibility of NPD or something similar or sociopathy or she’s just evil or an abuser or she’s a puppet or she’s mimicking the people who’s hurt her’s actions and becoming abusive herself?) (It has been said that she’s become a witch so she lost her humanity or sanity, does losing humanity cause you to lose your empathy or something?!?!?)
I'm done. They have officially destroyed this show. There is no wonder to it anymore. Hinamizawa isn't the place it was in the old anime, it's just some bland generic village. Also the fact that satiko enjoys torchering her friends just makes her annoying and aggravating. How she smiles while framing her uncle who has done all he can to change and be there for her. They have destroyed all the characters and destroyed the original story which was far better. The motive for this is also stupid she went to school so now I'm going to torcher my friends. Also her just randomly running into a God and getting looping powers is just so moronic. The fact Rika was born with them made it interesting like nobody knew why not even her. A other thing in the old anime even when they redid scenes they changed enough to make it different and entertaining. This studio just gives you the same damn episode with satiko doing creepy smiles. Studio Deen had better writing, better characyer design, better everything. And the fact that this trash story replaces the old one is aggravating to me. Now I know how starwars fans felt when disny sht out the latest 3 movies on their chest.
I wouldn't go as far as saying the show got destroyed. Plenty of people like this season for the unpredictability and how the Hinamizawa Syndrome is being injected into other people beyond the usual five/six (if you count Shion) like Ooishi. The character designs are way better than the original from 2006. Rika's arms and legs look like super skinny twigs and while she is a young girl, that's still unrealistic. Am I saying this season is great? Nah, there's flaws and I wish it could be improved upon and be better. But as the comment above says, just wait until the answer arc to end, a.k.a., after all of the episodes are finished. Maybe it could get better.
Rika wasn’t born with looping powers, nor does this show replace the old one. Old show and new one are completely different stories with different meanings/goals. If you don’t like Gou/Sotsu, it doesn’t have to be canon for you. If it were a reboot that messed everything up, then I’d agree with you.

Also wtf was with the super powers in last episode it was lame and stupid. They removed everything that made this show great and instead made it a bland super girl anime

Cuz at this point I want someone to spoil me everything since this anime makes me hate Satoko even more than that bitch from AoT, and seeing all the deaths happening like Groundhog Day but in a JOJO like Golden Experience Requiem an Infinite of Deaths
Too long of an explanation tbh. Also it's not canonically explained yet but it's heavily implied enough to make an assumption. I haven't read Ciconia so I'm not at liberty to pretend I know. Satoko is evil here I presume for a couple reasons. 1) She is mentally ill 2) she's just experienced over 100 timelines of suffering and failures, so she's losing her mind 3) Eua made it a condition to be "entertaining" in order for her to get her wish 4) Satoko believes these timelines are dreams and not important, therefore being evil doesn't matter as long as the end goal is reached
@@anomalous34 thank you for you're honesty, I only started watching episodes 13 to 17 because I was confused on why there was a DBZ Battle and two Daughters of Darkseid fighting each other of having both friends reliving infinite of timelines of Deaths, and I'm mostly confused about this anime and I think there was an original one before they've rebooted this anime, I've even seen Satoko kill that one dude after faking being dead when that guy pushed her on the table where it looked like she got her neck cracked open
I wish they would just.. not completely change the personality of a character like Satoko that had already been established decades ago.. and it's not like they even fleshed her new "persona" all that much. I wish they would have gotten more creative about it and give this "villain arc" to an entirely new character, in an entirely new hinamezawa, maybe in the future, with an entirely different cast of kids and a new story. Maybe give big roles and cameos to the old cast as adults in a timeline where some of them are still alive or even in the timeline of adult Rena from the original season. That way, the integrity of the original characters can stay the same and there are no inconsistencies with the story! Even the animation is actually not that great, they seem to cut corners with the keiichi/shion ladder scene in comparison to the original, and the level of gore now is too comical, like we're supposed to believe that Keiichi can still blink after being stabbed 50 times and losing truckloads of blood? The art style is pretty meh when you take away all of the nice lighting and the bright coloring. The expressions are so.. awkward as opposed to how raw and unhinged they were in the original. And yes, the original had its own meme-worthy moments that were supposed to be serious (shion moments especially 😂) but they had a raw "unhingey-ness" to them that feel more believable vs. the goofy ahh expressions in this new season. The original had a sort of "bright" color palette with the characters but the grainy feel helped add to the mood of a horror show. Sotsu and Gou are so bright and shiny that it completely strips away any layer of "creepy" and "horror" that it once held.
3:08 This is so damn unsettling. Wtf is she doing to her face? And why do that to change her facial expression? Its almost like she doesn’t even have a human face and is using a clay mask to manipulate everyone wtf. 😰😰😰
