The Bartle Frere peak is only clear from clouds 5-10% of the year and sees an average rainfall of 8000mm per year making it one of the wettest places on earth. The 14km hike is almost entirely consisted of tropical rainforest and the view is only visible from the very top. By far my favourite hike in Australia so far!

I ran up and down it with my girl in six hours in December the dry season and getting to the top, we could look down on the clouds which was amazing! I would recommend anyone to do that if they have the balls, I was sure we went over six tributary rivers on the way up but crossed 12 on the way down but thankfully we made it to the car park. There were reports of more UK fellows getting completely lost around the same time in that area 🤯 I’ll re-read that tomorrow and fix any text problems 🤯

December is the wet season up here so it would have been most definitely covered in leeches and clouds, 6hrs is good time!

Thanks Darcy! I started from Josephine falls and returned via the same route, the Strava activities are in the description if you're interested.

Did you see any of the Bartle Frere Skinks on the summit amongst the boulders? They are little lizards
