I headed into the mountains to find adventure and calm my mind. This was one of my greatest trips that had a bit of everything, from beautiful views & crystal clear waters to mountain fish & invisible bogs.

Trust me man. As a raging hippie, never feel guilty for finding a moment separate from the what we’ve been seeing to…especially if it makes us feel at peace and still in the now. Screw the “what they think if hear this” just be you and enjoy that now. You’re more of an inspiration than you know, and from my part thank you for giving me the drive to step out of my head and enjoy some great times camping. Keeping plodding dude, you’re a gooden 🙏🏻✨

I'm a 56 year old woman who's seen and felt a lot of life, I'm certain there's still more learning, pain and love to come. You touched me quite unexpectedly when you sat afyer your first dip. A friend once told me many years ago when I was deep in grief that 'Everything passes. The good passes and the bad passes'. Great episode as usual Paul. A quick suggestion for your hands. Immerse them in ice water for about 5 minutes every day, starting with a minute, and I guarantee they won't stay cold for long after swimming. I used to get white finger after my ice bath but don't anymore. It works. Feet as well.

That bog is a metaphor for dealing with mental health, you fall in it, struggle to get out and then do it all again knowing full well what will happen until you realise you don't have to stay on the same path, the struggle is real 😊

For someone who suffers terribly with depression and anxiety, your honesty and openness is wonderful. I think we all put on that damn mask way too often just so we don’t upset others or put them in an awkward place because they don’t know how to deal with us when we are honest about how we feel. In my opinion I do this as it’s the easy option but at the end of the day it doesn’t help me pretending I’m someone I’m not. But since I have tried to be ‘me’, I’ve lost a lot of ‘friends’ and that hurts. I’m rambling but I totally understand you. You help others with your openness so thank you 🙏 x

I was a man of the great outdoors mate, stayed in a tent for 8 months in the west Highlands of Scotland when I was younger, loved my fishing etc then boom! Blood cancer in the spine took my mobility and that's where you come in my friend! We all get mixed up in the nut but we're all still getting on. Hiking A-B is fine, but walking A - 'wherever' is so much more refreshing and rewarding. I feel so much better after a 'walkabout' than when I have to walk to a plan. There's an expectation when hiking a planned route and a certain feeling of failure if you don't "get the miles in". But 'walkabout' is a feeling of freedom and pitching when you feel like it. There's a better, closer connection to the world and nature when you simply take the time out to enjoy it. Keep on keeping on Hazey, you got this.

Bravo and good on you for sharing your feels man! I was a bit worried at first until I got that you were just, I guess, 'freeing yourself' and experiencing something that rocked you emotionally. I felt privileged to witness your experience and so glad that you felt safe and okay to share on this forum. Go on son! There's plenty of us who feel connected and grounded in sharing these funny moments when feels creep up on us so your not alone. Won't lie, haven't been out into the wilds for a bit now due to circumstace but love doing so through you until I can once more smell the wood fire and unashamedly eat far too much protein cooked over an open fire :D Carry on.

I had a similar issue with the burney Toaks handle. I got some 2mm silicone tube, put some washing up liquid in the silicone tube and slid it on to the handle and now I can pick up a hot pot without burning my fingers. Keep up the good work 😁

Such an inspiration. Been struggling a bit lately, and feeling anxious about breaking down every now and again. But seeing you deal with it reminds me that it's okay to break down, and that I shouldn't be ashamed of it. And also that I should do something with the urge to get out of everything from time to time, as it's probably my mind telling me it needs that break. Thanks for being open. I got stuck in a bog a couple of years ago, it was in Asda. The door got jammed up so I had to actually phone the store and explain where I was. They sent a guy who couldn't stop laughing. By the time I was freed pretty much all the staff knew.

This has to be my favourite video to date Hazey. It had it all. Dramatic scenery, Raw emotion, Tom Daley’esque Dives, staring contests with the wildlife and of course a few medics. Ffs - I’m sat here watching this taking so many deep breaths, as I know damn right I feel the exact same head issues recently, not recognising it kicked back in a few months ago. That Lobster was probably 70 years old... I'm in Plymouth and fish regularly for food. My friend caught one around the same size... The trawler men we showed estimated the age.... We put it back ❤❤

I have only been watching your channel for a year, the first vid being 3 days in the lakes healing in nature. Always an enjoyable watch and still watching vids from your back catalogue. Besides being entertaining you inspire and remind alot of us why it is good to get out.
