Rainy day hike and gut check.
Sometimes its good to be hiking while miserable.
As always the view and time spent with friends is worth it.
Only 4 miles round trip but hike itself is 1.2 miles and over 1200 EG. Straight up.
We alson hike the bottom or base of the index town wall
Hiked both Saturday and Sunday. No snow
We completed the ledge and base.
Fall colors are still popping! Incredibly beautiful. The hike is muddy as heck but doable- I recommend poles for stability along the wet, slippery rocks.
If you're doing this for the first time you should bring a GPS just to be safe.
If not, remember at the junctions two rights and two lefts. Near the top theres another questionable junction (log in middle of trail), there you'll take a right. We also straddled the stream at the top to get to the ledge.
The clouds created a unique beauty. The hike was a leg burner, but worth it.
