On the first day of my weekend, I decided to revisit the Montezuma Castle National Monument for a refresher since I will be visiting the Montezuma Well as well. These two places are just about twenty minute away from each other. I was amazed at the ruins on both of these places but what's really awesome is the ruin at the entrance of the cave where some bats live. After checking out the Montezuma ruins. We headed north to camp for the night. We picked a dispersed camping nearby the Lava River Cave in Flagstaff. I was pleased with the weather in Flagstaff. I did not expect that it will be a chilly night so I did not bring my sleeping bag and I kept on waking up due to cold. The next day, not too far from our campsite, we hiked the Lava River Cave. It has a moderate foot traffic due to being a popular cave and a short hike. I wish I brought more flashlight to the cave better. I was grateful for always having a pair of gloves in my pack. It helped me a lot scrambling on the wet boulders.
