So excited we are going up there for half a week during summer. Growing up my parents had a cabin in that area and we spent almost every summer up there. Havent been there in almost 12 years I'm so excited to share it with my kids. I'm sure much has changed.
Really good video with some good information. I done this hike a few times, I just messaged it to my girlfriend, so maybe it will help me convince her to try it with me.☺️
They don’t own the land. UC Berkeley has the camps and just sold the Chalet. But the land is all Forest Service. They do these 99yr leases. UC Berkeley owns the buildings in camp Blue, Oski, Lair,
@@sfe thanks for sharing and education. I knew they had something up in Pincrest I have some very good memories of are family camping there in the early 70's My parent's Aunties and Uncle's many cousin's. I watched American Graffiti is where I first seen that movie, and the rangers talking about the diffrent wild life there. We even came there in the begging of the summer when there was still snow on the ground that coverd the benches at the theater. The last time I been there was early 1990's I thought I would research it on RU-vid and it's just as I remember it. Oh now that I'm writing I remember being there when a lightening storm was striking tree's even this lady was holding onto hers tent pole and the lightning hit that and she got hurt where she had to be taken out of there ambulance took her out of there yeah it was pretty scary now that I'm remembering all of this and the thunder was loud. We camped there in diffrent seasons. My late father really like that place of all the other places we camped at and we camped many many diffrent places in California.
I hiked around that lake back in 1976 when I was 6 years old by myself, I remember a part was very dangerous but once I got across that part I came to the water falls and it was all good from there.
