im a new learner and this is very helpful! this is one thing i really struggle with and the end up having a panic attack im going to trythis method thank you x
Thank you so much for this video...Your video regarding the uphill driving was very helpful to me ...I can drive on flat roads and city traffics but did not have any experience regarding uphill...When I faced a situation where I had to drive uphill I came across your video and believe without which I could not have got through that road with all the traffic and panic...Once again thank you so much for helping me out.. I forwarded that video and this one too , to my sister who also needed some assistance regarding uphill driving...Keep posting because it is really helpful for someone like me trying to improvise.
Congratulations on passing your driving test on the first try! That's brilliant news and I'm so glad to hear that the video was able to help you out along the way. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your positive feedback with us. Keep up the great work and happy driving! 👏🚗
parking break is your only friend on the day of the exam as you'll be too nervous to get a hill start correctly without it so use it as many times as needed! also in case of traffic uphill it's best to leave some distance between you and the car in front so you so you wouldn't need to stop as much
Feel like I’m much better now! I never used to stall but used to roll back a bit even with enough gas but it was because I wasn’t on the bite point enough! Cause as soon as I lift the clutch a little the car would then go forward! 👍🏻
I passed my test first time last week, but hill starts have always scared me. It's the one thing I did wrong in my test, and now I'm driving my husbands car I can't get it at all, I panic and stall/roll. This has put me off driving, definitely need to keep watching this and practice
I have my test coming up, and I’m terrified of hill starts! I don’t stall, but the car makes a massive VRROOOM sound because the gas is too high, but I just can’t seem to get it in the right place! I’ve perfected everything else but this. From one hill start scaredy cat to another: keep at it! You didn’t do all those lessons and pass your test for nothing! Once you (we) have mastered it, it will feel so good 😁
Had this issue today, on a roundabout with an incline 🤦🏾♀️ The stress and panic! Cars to the left of me, jokers to the right... there I was, stalled at the top of the hill... 😩 I'll keep at it though, while I'm a learner I'm entitled to stall 🥴
I passed my driving test first attempt 2 days ago with only 3 minors!!! and I am soooo happy, your videos helped me a lot so just wanted to say thank you. And for people who have there test coming up one advice I would mention is just remain calm don’t let your nerves over come you. Be confident in your driving ability and everything will be fine. Will probably make a video on how to pass so stay tuned!!!
I am new to manual cars but my handbrake doesn't work so I'm forced into using method 2 and 3. Not so bad if I didn't live in one of the cities in the US with the most hills. The entire city is just hills
This was one of my serious faults!!! On my first test i got 3 serious faults for some things i was really good at :(( so now im waiting for more tests and watching these
My driving school had a car with a lower bite point and Ive noticed my new car has a higher bite point....I'm still struggling to master it so I'm stalking on a daily basis😢
@@mwendabai you’ll get there eventually. You’re the exact same as me!!! I found myself over revving all the time I don’t know if this is you? But you’ll get used to it. I was giving gas but not lifting clutch up high enough so was just revving the guts out of it and not actually moving 😂😂 until i lifted clutch up more
If I’m on a hill about to turn left or right at an open clear junction. Do I need to stop and use my handbrake then clutch control? Or would the examiner expect me to enter the new road without stopping as it’s clear? I’m just worried I’ll roll back
Do the safest thing on your own and on the driving test. But it may not be necessary to stop completely if it's clear. You'll only get a fault on the test if you're missing opportunities to go (not making progress) and holding up others. Probably worth practicing not always completely stopping if it's definitely clear and safe :)
I am feeling lucky to discover your channel. I used your techniques it's so worth it, now don't feel the struggle at junctions. Thank you so much, Sir.
I cannot believe the amount of mock driving tests I've seen where the learner repeatedly stalls on a hill and not ONCE do they put the hand/parking brake on and then get the biting point. They've literally not been taught the easiest thing you can do to not stall on a hill!
I keep hearing people pass their test at first attempt, pls how do you do it, or maybe its not a manual car and am wondering what's wrong with me, failed 3rd time today 😭😭😭😭

My instructor has a puma and I hate the hill assist so much 😅 I don’t like having to wait a second after letting go of the foot brake before finding my bite or else the engine just cuts off. 🙃 especially when it doesn’t always even work if the hill is slight.
I’m a bit confused when it comes to creeping. When you didn’t actually have to do a hill start you just go really slowly. How is this? Are you not using as much of the bite when doing this?
@@worlddriving okay but if I want to pull of quick then obviously gas but more bite then. So basically the clutch can control how quick you actually go?
Ahhh 3 days ago i PASSED!!! It was my second attempt but it was so worth it!!!! Thank you so much, your videos helped me so much 🥺🥺🥺 i will continue to watch them!!!
U r grat Chris in explaining every driving topic. But i need a blindspor mirror like yourse that sits on the original side mirror .can u provide me with a link to buy them online .thank u so much
I went out to practice today, and I was getting the bite point while on the break and just switched my foot over to the gas to move. Is this fine for the car?
The parking brake method is definitely the safest and the easiest one however, it’s a major hassle in a constant stop start uphill traffic. Everyone should learn how to hold the car still on a hill, using the clutch and gas without applying any brakes. of course, this applies for just a brief stops, if it’s a longer one, it’s best to use the handbrake.
