Hillbilly RV - Battery Installation - Adding A Second Battery 

Excellent Job, but one concern. I believe the heavy 2 0 cable should be on the battery post first to make solid contact, then the smaller wires on top of the heavy cable. I think I saw you put the heavy cable on top of the smaller wires which make a less than optimal connection. 👍

Oh here’s my 2 cents, you should remove the negative ground to chassis to the new battery. I hook one up like you did and about 3 months the batteries where crap. You need that straight flow of the current. So your new battery negative should have two wires one to the the negative to the old and one to the chassis. 😊

Do you need a vent hose if the battery is a sealed w/o the caps

I was going to tell you that you will probably get a comment about connecting to opposite batteries. Too late! Supposedly to decrease voltage drop between the batteries. My opinion, that’s trying to pick out fly poop from the black pepper.

Same as you, when I do crimp I also always get the ears on the crimp. Unfortunately when I tired moving one size larger on the crimp dies I was able to pull the cable out of the crimp. So I ended up rotating the crimp about 45 degrees and recrimped and that would flatten the ears. Nice job.
