Teacher : "Kids, this fossil you see right here is a Toyota Hilux the archeologists dig up at Thailand in 3090 A.C.C.C, it's still remains as the world only car fossil that's still able to start it's own engine."
Legitimately got recommened this 5 years later while also knowing that Top Gear put a toyota pickup into fire, water and even a building and it still survived
My father in law's Hilux 2012 was used as garbage truck. No oil change since 2012. it was passed on to me this 2023. i changed the oil, change the shock to OME, add a leaf and raised 2 inches, put a nice toyo AT tires and additional love and care. The aircondition broke but thats it. Still runs like new. The best!❤️
@@swatboy763 Im not stupid enough to include the headlights in the useless electronics, im talking about the touchscreen radios which you can play movies on and also the cellphone chargers near the stick shift.
@@ephrykottarathil46 shit happens man, and that was what the whole ad is based on. He could never forgive himself for his carelessness, until he found the car in perfect shape. It's fiction 😉
İ owned Hilux 15 years in Türkiye. İt has been never unbroken, only periodical maintenance. There was no disadvantage accept the rear seats. Sitting there makes you bouncer because of leaf spring.
I own the exact same hilux as this one! The song was "baby come back!". Have to say after a trip around Australia and multiple remote 4wd camping trips, towing trailers and loading the lux then more then it's designed to carry makes me feel confident it's not gonna let me down. 280kms on the clock and still the original starter, alt and water pump. Pretty amazing really.
There were literally no comments on this Ad before Whistlin Diesel came into the scene. Also I lived in Greece and this ad completely captures how beloved this model is to the mountain men there, the dream car of many a Greek hillbilly (and now of many an American one too).
@@Chase92488 Hey, Top Gear reviewed the Hilux - but way back in 2007! I hadn't even graduated High School and I'm sure a lot of the WhistlinDiesel viewers were literally in their infancy. I'm not denying that Top Gear was there first, but they have RU-vid to thank for driving attention back to that cult episode, which I certainly didn't know about when it first aired. 💯
Thanks Hilux!
Here in the Philippines, there was once this assassination that occured involving this truck. After the assassination, the truck was disposed of by driving it towards a deep ditch to get rid of it. Somehow, it got stuck at the edge so it was recovered quickly by authorities as evidence. I think they even tried starting it and it still worked lol.

I think its fair to say that 99.9% of the people is right, cody from WD just took it up to 10000ft and dropped it from there, yeah its done but after all the shit he threw at it it still droves quite fine :)
Once WD threw everything he could think of at it. He finally gave up and threw the whole world at it. That's when the little truck finally gave in to the abuse. It literally took the entire world to stop it. 🥺 that was one brave truck.
I watched this without sound on a post in the past and it almost made me tear up when he found his Toyota Hilux again. 10/10 would recommend. Better than Twilight

Toyota in general has been the most reliable brand I've ever driven. We bought a Sienna back 10 years ago and stupidly, we bought it at night, and didn't get to do a thorough check on it because we needed to quickly purchase a minivan. When we did bring it to the mechanic for some items that needed to be taken care of he let us know that we had bought a lemon that was not taking care of at all. To this day it still runs 70000 miles and 10 years later with no problems.

Ha! I went to Baja California Mexico with some buddies, one with a one year old Toyota 4x4 pickup. Twas ~1987ish. Camping. Came across a creek out in the middle of nowhere near the beach about 100 miles south of Ensenada. I said "John, let's go through it", "nah", "come on, what did you get this truck for, if not for this moment." Put it in gear and ... we got stuck. It was about 3-4 ft deep. Other friend felt proud his really old Jeep Cherokee with a winch could pull him out. John spent next few hours trying to get water out of the pistons with a bike pump. Then he got it running! Some locals came and chatted looking at our gear, scoping us out. We decided they might be banditos, so let's get out of Dodge while we can. Packed up, and about 50 miles down the road, boom, black smoke. Piston rod put a 2"x4" hole in the crank case. Cherokee towed him back to San Diego Toyota. "What happened?", "Uh, it broke", "Must have been bad Mexican gas, happens all the time" "uh, yeah, something like that" "hmm, good thing, you have 1 day left on your 1 year warranty" Toyota fixed it for free! (Funny my memory remembers them saying a one year warranty, but it probably was 1 day left on a three year warranty.) 6 months later, another co-worker ran his Toyota pickup through a small 6inch deep puddle in the backwoods, it stalled and busted. Warranty fixed it too. Toyota made huge mistake that model year, the air intake had a reverse snorkel that sucked in from the bottom. I'm sure they eventually figured it out. Since then my brother worked for Toyota parts. They had a recall on transmissions of Forerunners one year. Toyota made the supplier pay for the fixes on all of them, and they fixed them all, even ones with over a hundred thousand miles, and declared lifetime warranty for first owners, so as to keep the Toyota name pristine. That's service!
The algorithm just sent this to me on 18 Apr 24 -- about two months after my FJ was "totaled" in a fender-bender (insurance company has no soul and didn't want to fix it). I can totally relate to this guy -- I bought the FJ new in 2007. Heartbreaking. 😭
Toyota needs to bring back the indestructible small pickup. They would make a fortune here in America if it was as immortal as their legacy says, and it was under $40,000. The indestructible Toyota hilux returns for the third time. Now immortal. Full box frame chassis with corrosion resistant materials. 200hp V6 guaranteed to hit 500,000 miles, literally bulletproof automatic transmission, and selectable 4wd tundra transfer case. I would buy one in a heartbeat.
As someone who's done a lot of rough country four wheel driving I can assure you that the unbreakable hilux is the most broken hunk of junk in the Australian bush. They break front diff stub axles or CV joints with such regularity that I can tell which broke by the all to familiar sound it makes while breaking.
