Fell in love when I was 12 and saw the yellow Targa in Commando. Bought a 911 Turbo 32 years later. Tried a Cayenne Turbo 15 years earlier which just couldn’t satisfy the affliction.
@@zachemorgan Even from an entertaining stand point this ad is way better than literally every advertisement I currently see. You don't need to eat the message of this advertisement to enjoy decent acting and a decent script (for an ad).
It’s because of the shortening of ads on tv they only have so much time to make their point. Stupid because you end up seeing that commercial 3 times every day anyway
I remember taking my dad to pick up my 911. I had said when I was about 8 or 9 that I would have a Porsche one day. My dad is the single reason I am a car nut, he loves his cars. It was great walking into the showroom and the sense of pride on his face will stay with me forever. Those days of Porsche ownership have now passed but every time I get a new car we still share that bond for our love of metal and ice engines. Porsche need to do a follow up on this advert.
This commercial really hits, as I fell in love with the 911 in the late 90's as a young boy. Still have the timestamped digital photo from the day I first sat in one. It was in 1st of March 2007 at a car show, and felt that I wanted one in the future. 13 years later I bought myself a new custom made 992.
This commercial needed to end with a man walking through the door with the same longing look on his face and the older salesman asking, "can I help you?"
I dont know why but this comment made me feel touched. In a positive way. I find it super beautiful when people make their dreams come true. Respect man. Pozdrawiam :)
@@web okay, you're right, however, I thought it was a Porsche dealer and he's standing inside the "showroom".,. Old cars, they are the best show piece?

You got that right. I would be shocked if a Porsche dealership let a kid throw his backpack in the car and get in. When I was about to graduate from college, two of my engineering buddies and I strolled into a Porsche/Audi dealership, and they wouldn't give us the time of day. Bunch of snobby guys in suits. The cars are typically locked in my experience.
just went to a dealership saturday. Edit (not a porsche dealer) little did they know i had money in hand etc. but they were to busy to go home on saturday night. i was there hour before closing time. but was to much work to start a car for me. i decided they dont want to sell a car....... i not buying and i even told them i had just driven 320 miles to see this car. but nope 0 fs given by sales dpt..... their loss.
I was always a hemi guy. Wanted one when i was 16. Had to settle for a barracuda with a 318. Then life and family happened. At 64 i finally got my hemi. The last year they will make them. Never give up!
@@haniarreturning8227 bruh I’m apparently lucky too cause several of my neighbors have nice cars one has an NA Miata, one has a 2014 SRT Grand Cherokee, one has a 2016 Focus RS, and my dad has 2010 Camaro
Literally happened to me multiple times over the years as a kid and a teen. Brumos Porsche was and is still the most accommodating car dealer I’ve ever dealt with. I remember walking in and seeing a GT3 for the first time and the salesman letting me sit in it. And I remember the same thing happening as a teenager and saying to him “you don’t have to do this, I can’t afford it now.” And he said back “it’s ok, we all love these cars, and one day you’ll be able to.” - A 911 Owner for Life
Yeah, that is cool. For them it is not anything that damages the car, and some teenagers will be able to buy them later, so I would say that is just good selling. They will remember the time they first sat in one. I hope to own 911 some day, I probably could finance one even now but that would be a financial suicide at the moment :) cheers for your car mate!
Hey man. Same here. Spent hours in the Brumos dealer on Atlantic when I was a kid. So cool to see the Brumos name here. Especially after leaving jacksonville. They were always such nice people. Hope you have a great weekend!
I didn’t wait till I was 32 to get mine. Neighbor had a new at the time 1968 gold Targa. Fell in love with the engine sound right away. I waited 6 years when I turned 18 to march myself into a Porsche dealership. Still remember that moment sitting in the car after giving me the keys to my brand new car like it was yesterday.
*Porsche dealers IRL:* "Where are your parents? You're here alone? Beat it kid, stop wasting my time. Don't touch the cars! Come on, get out before I call the cops"
Nooo, but that was how Lamborghini treated me. At Porsche they let me bring my camera and take pictures (I was 13 at the time) and she offered to make me a fresh smoothie and showed me around. :)
@@AA-vj3si This! Also, Ferrari is pretty much the same as Lamborghini too, even worse. That's why I love Porsche, not only they make amazing cars with probably the best engineering/build quality in the world (and are not snobby about it) but also treat their costumers and fans well.

I wonder how the kid looks today. There are just 5-6 years to go! Imagine they will make a new commercial than, with the same actor. The would be sooo awesome!
I remember the day my dad took me to a Porsche showroom just to show me around as I was crazy for Porsches as a kid. The sales staff was exactly like this guy and cooperated with us, showing and explaining everything about the Turbo, Boxster, 911. All of us knew we were not there to buy it. Yet the way we were welcomed was beyond explanation. Its been 20 years since the incident. and I hope I can buy 1 in 20 more years to come...
They were particularly discreet with your father- the entire staff was forewarned beforehand not to laugh or snicker or any of that. They were even prepared to have you sit down at the finance desk if you asked.

When I was 18 I walked in a bmw dealership in Berlin, Germany and wanted to see the new 5 series (f10) it just came out and I was in love with it. I walked in and the salesman came to me and asked if he can help me. I said I want to take a look and maybe sit in the new f10. He just laughed at me and said "this is definitely not happening" I asked him why, he told me every once and then people like you come here sit in the car, make the seats dirty and the steering wheel sticky with their grimy fingers and leave. I was passed off, he had an evil smile and escorted me out 🙄 two years later I walk in the same dealership and for God's sake there's that guy, and I asked him if he remembers me, he said no. I told him the story about not letting me in the car and escorting me out and he started laughing, again, and told me I still can't sit in the car because he knows that I can't afford that car. I called the manager asked for another salesman, on that day I bought my first car, an f10 m550d. I worked 2 years and saved every damn penny I had to buy that car, still have it, love it like on day one 👌🙌
I am a motor head from way back. Knew many cars, and their features at 5. I love this commercial because the kid reminded me of me at that age. Drawing cars and dreaming of them. I drew a Pontiac GTO. The 1st year it came out. My Grandfather drew another car with me. I liked his drawing, but he liked mine too. We were so close. Later, I would help with his audio dreams of all things. I became more an audio guy and have had many a Porsche and more of Audio. I never had a Porsche, but I get emotional every time I see this commercial. To dream, to desire. Excellence that captivates the mind, the conection made with your heart, the very sight of its perfection, warms your soul.

@@someotherdude - totally fine. Harley riders think they’re cool too. Just know every time you drive a Porsche … we’ll you’ve seen the South Park Harley episode. That’s Porsche drivers.
Oh my, tears in my eyes. That was brilliant. And the fact the Porsche shown in this ad still looks modern today years later in 2023 is testament to their timeless design.
I relate to that kid so much. Used to do that when I was younger. There was a Porsche dealership 3 minutes walking away from my house growing up. The salesman was awesome and always showed me the cars every time I went. He even took me for rides in some of them. When I was 21, I got my first Porsche and immediately made my way to the showroom to show it to him. I was told he got transferred and was sad about it. My work made me move to another city and I went to the dealership to service the car. Lo and behold. My man was a salesman now at that dealership and he immediately recognized me. He was so happy to see my car and reminisced the times I used to come. It was honestly one of the most wholesome memories I’ve had in my life
When I was in 7th class my neighbor took me to a local Porsche dealer (in Germany). Since I grew up in a rather poor family I was afraid because I felt out of place. The guy at the dealership showed me around, explained all the models they have and gave me a brief history lesson of Porsche and the 911. In the end I got a small history book about the 911. One of the best days in my life as a kid. Now I am working a good job and will be able to afford a nice piece of engineering.
Porsche figured out very early on that when you are buying a sports car, you are really buying the way it makes your feel. If every aspect of owning the car doesn't feel special, you are not going to be happy with spending $100,000 on it. This advert demonstrates this, and that kid will remember his first experience of a Porsche dealership - the bar has been set very high. I hope dealers today can make Porsche owners feel that they are special and valued.
@@tlangdon12 I went to the nearest Porsche Center last winter. I've dreamed about owning one since seeing this ad for the first time. As a broke student I felt a little out of place but the salesman was super welcome and helpful. He answered all my questions and let me sit in as many cars as I wanted. I felt like being treated like a real customer even when I showed up in a 20 year old beat up Fiesta. They make you actually want to buy their products unlike many other car salesmen. I'm definitely buying one when I finish my engineering studies.
This brought a tear to my eye , because it reminded me of myself when I was twelve , I remember exactly , looking out of the classroom window at the world , and I used to say to myself, one day I'm going to own a Rolls Royce , I'm 70 years old now, and at a stage in life that I could buy one , im British born, lived mostly in Australia, now live in Asia, but now I look around me and I see people who need the money more than I need a Rolls Royce, especially during the pandemic, so I will continue to dream , and spend my money helping people.
@@ALGARIC And when I was 18 we landed on the moon , people think 70 years is a long time , but its only 25,500 days , thats why it's important to treat everyday like your last, because one day it will be.
@@kingdomfor1 those are some wise words i hope these it doesn’t ho over these folks head. As for the Rolls Royce i hear you, i always said i wanted this & that but when you get in a position to be able to buy it, you almost sit back and think can i really justify spending a 1/4 million dollars a car... thats usually what gets me. However as more time goes by i realize that you must get your experiences out of life such as getting that Rolls or Lamborghini and live life to the fullest, because as you said one day it’ll be you’re last!
@kingdomfor1 I ve something similar. When I was about 7 years old, I often took a stop at the Camera Store and looked at the big cams. And there was this one unit, with many buttons and the highest price. I sad to my mom, that I will own this one day. 15 Years later (now)I work as a cameraman. I dont own this cam, but i work with it.
My father is from Germany. He spent the first 23years of his life there until he opened his own bakery in California, & only had $500 to his name. 35 years later, he bought a used 2017 911 targa 4s, I’ve never seen the man happier in my life. These aren’t just cars, they are staples of life people try to reach.

I remember when my dad would go to 4J Motors in LA to get his bug serviced. I would always hop out of the car and make my way to the 911’s. All the salesmen treated me the same way as the kid in the commercial. Something very special about a Porsche!
3 more years left until the kid buys a Porsche. Watching this after 17 years lol. We need a commercial with the kid actually purchasing a porsche from that very own man/company. Good old days!
17 years later and they still couldn't understand how they got such good video quality, scientists are still researching today and they said they might be searching for another few decades for this technology.
I wish every salesman at the main car dealerships would be like this... most of them would just laugh at you because they think you can't afford it.. probably true for some people but no reason to laugh at you.
Not in my case. I walked to Porsche, they never expected me to afford it since I am not exactly 40 nor a doctor. The sales onky wanted to talk cars with me for the sake of passion and every visit he would take time to chat 30 mins with me on random Porsche topics. I liked him so much, I got rid of a previously already ordered Benz, and purchased a brand new GTS off the lot
I work in a jewelry store because I love watches and even if I can tell someone's not gonna buy (though you can never judge) I have no problem talking watches with them for a good length of time. Being more than just a sales person goes a long way.
