Himiway Cruiser e-bike review. Fast?✔️Far?✔️Cheap?✔️ 

I bought one of these as well as the Wing Freedom X, thinking I would get rid of one of them. I ended up selling the Himiway to a friend who likes it but I just found it too heavy. It is like a pickup truck which some people like, whereas the Wing is more like a speedy, lightweight, fun commuter. They are both great bikes, but I really ended up loving the wing.

Had so much trouble with Himiway. They tried to replace my faulty motor 3 times instead of letting me ship the bike back for a replacement. Took 6 months and I had to take it to a mechanic to replace. Then, still didn’t work and they wanted me to buy another one and return the old one before they would send me a new one. I think they’re customer service is in China? Just get something local because Himiway doesn’t know how to fix their problems.

I've now ridden my Himi Cruiser a few thousand miles and still think it was a great value. I added the shock absorber seat post, locking hand grips, front air shocks, gel saddle and cable activated disk brake calipers. These items really helped resolve any of the weaknesses the bike had and I find it rides quite comfortable for long distances over varied terrain. For the price, it was a real bargain that allowed my budget to upgrade what I wanted and still be less expensive than almost all equivalent e bikes.

I've tested my Himiway bike for a few hundred miles and am offering my feedback. I've had several electric bikes previous to Himiway. I’ve had to modify all of them to fit my needs. I ride mostly on back country dirt roads, old logging roads, and forest trails. I've put 25,000+ miles or so on e-bikes over the past 10 years. Maybe 5-10 % of that has been extreme conditions with lots of gravel, rocks, ruts, potholes, mud, and steep curvy narrow paths. I purchased my (all terrain) Himiway without trying it based on specs, but mostly due to testimonials, which in hindsight, I realize are mostly from casual and inexperienced e-bikers. This bike is best for predictable conditions. It's probably fabulous for beach riding. I don't recommend it for rough terrain. It's like the Harley of e-bikes, a very heavy bike that requires the assist being on to use the throttle. When you start to peddle and are pointed toward a rock or hole, the bike lunges forward. Obstacles are hard to avoid. I ordered the black men's bike and received a white step through. I'm glad Himiway sent me the wrong bike. I've had to plant my feet firmly on the ground to avoid crashing into obstacles several times. I was frustrated that I received the bike almost a month later than expected. On the whole, the bike is well designed and easily put together. The threads on the left pedal arrived squashed at the end, but I ground them down and installed the pedal. I was pleased to see that Himiway quickly sent a replacement. Another small problem I’ve had is the kickstand loosens up over rough terrain and rattles until I tighten it up again. I love the compact and nifty little tool kit provided by Himiway. The 48V 17.5 amp battery is a plus, though I'm skeptical about Himiway’s recommendation to leave it fully charged. Every battery spokesman says it will have a longer life if I don't. I have a 48 volt 15 amp battery on my BionX bike with a 1,000 watt motor. I expected to get better mileage with Himiway, but because the BionX charges while coasting and braking, I get similar mileage. BionX leaves the Himiway in the dust when climbing a steep hill, but mainly because I'm peddling twice as fast on the Himiway at 20 mph as I am on the other at 30mph. I'm going to look into modifying the gearing and into the possibility of charging the battery on the go. After my first ride, I instantly upgraded by installing a water bottle, small saddle bag, and gel seat cover, which added another 5 lbs. I began by leaving the bike in 7th gear (for 20 miles) while using the motor to maintain speed. I tried shifting gears and using the motor as little as possible for the next 20 miles. I'm using a combo now. The two main changes I'm making to the bike at the moment are installing a 5" tire on the front for rocks, potholes, and snow and modifying the gearing by replacing the set of seven gears with a higher and lower ratio set, or installing two or three front gears and derailleur with the current size as the middle gear. I'll keep you updated and share my successes and failures with you. thanks, mark

The only thing that reviewers never mention is the fact that Himiway has NO warranty. They do claim to have a 2 year warranty but they will only ship you replacement parts if you pay the shipping which is four times the cost of the part and then you must install it yourself. There is no actual warranty read the warranty policy. I know because I have had to use it.

*Great quality amazing **Latest.Bike** , back brakes needed adjusting. Assembly a little complicated and instructions a little unclear but overall I give the bike 5/5 stars*

Micah, since this is a bike that can’t be ridden at my local bike shop, it would be great if you could talk about the feel of power delivery. My understanding is that this bike only has a cadence sensor. I expect that creates a different riding experience from a hub drive with both cadence and torque sensor. When considering a purchase this is important to understand as different people are looking for different riding experiences. Thanks for the review!

I just picked 2 of them up at the warehouse in Chino, CA. A black one for me and a white one for my wife. We have lots of hills around us, and these bikes should eat them up!

First I thought the wood piece on the rack is totally useless, but then I thought I will remove the original wood and put a wood piece there with several mounts for boxes etc. :-) I have several ideas now.

I purchased mine used w less than 200 miles from brother for $1000. My concern is replacement parts such as battery. Are the avail when needed? And can after market components be gotton for upgrades?

Looks like a great ebike and fun to ride. The fat tire would be great for the sand and off roading.

I live in Puerto Rico but we don't have any market of ebikes yet. I wonder it's there a company who can ship to my island. Already tried with Aventon and Rad, but they don't offer that option.

It's a Radrover with a bigger battery and a better price. Looks like a nice fun bike.

this is not a bad deal. if you're not letting perfect be the enemy of good, and this is what you can afford.... i paid way more for my rover a year and a half ago, cuz i had to add the fenders, front and rear racks - and rpb is proud of all those accessories!

Rad really needs to take notice of this....Himiway is going right after the Rad Rover...That said, I have a 2020 Rad Rover and if this has a true 750w motor (as opposed to Rad's 500w to "peak 750w" offering) and the same class braking and shifting components then perhaps my purchase was premature.

$1,400 is cheap? Meanwhile my broke ass decided to build an ebike years ago for about $445. It also has a top speed of 28mph throttle only. I wasn't impressed with the specs of most pre-built ebikes since they were so slow cause regulations where even worse back then and they were expensive to boot so I figured I'd build my own with a conversion kit and pre built battery. Never used it much cause the battery was too large to fit in the frame so I had to mount it on a bike rack that raised the center of gravity making it a pain to mount but after getting a 3d printer I popped open the battery and designed a housing that fits in the frame and it works great now. Has all the original ports easily accessible along with the key switch. Might actually add some minor upgrades to it now, put a speedometer/odometer on it and switch out the bike post for one with suspension as well as a more comfortable seat. Probably some new handlebars so I don't have to lean so far forward. Maybe even change out the forks for some with suspension as well... I'm probably about to spend more on upgrades than what the bike itself was probably worth lol

Enjoy your review of this bike, I don't usually go off-road, but I like the fat tyre,. Question: Can I use this bike mainly for use for urban on the road riding mainly because the fat tyre will give me a much softer and smoother ride over the standard urban tyre?

Where I Can buy this Bike?

This is pretty close to the sweet spot for me with Class III speed capability to tool around and go to tennis with the guys. I kinda wish it only had 3" tires since the little bit of trail riding I might ever do, they would suffice and I just think they throw away some distance with the rolling resistance of 4" fat tires. But a Class III with 17ah for $1500 is definitely a head turner. It would be my 2nd eBike since I have a folding Rize Bolt with 17ah for traveling in my van. Sadly they went in the wrong direction for only 3 months after this review: $100 more, and removed the fenders... Ah, the search continues...

I need help. I bought a Himiway and received it 2/15/21. All good out of the box and for 3 rides. On my 4th ride lost all power had to walk it home. After checking all connections and finally getting to tech support it was determined controller was the problem. I paid $99 to have a new controller. It has been 11 days and my controller has not been confirmed for delivery. Please help.

This Himiway cruiser's spec, would this bike become illegal say in Singapore or Asia?

That Himiway Cruiser is a great looking bike, and it may go fast and far. But I for 1 wouldn't call $1400.00 cheap. I don't think the $700.00+ I spent on a Walmart E-bike was cheap. If I ever get another E-bike, and a fat one at that, I may need to count on a win from Bolton Ebikes. Of course if some of the other bike companies start having give-a-ways!!!!:-)

Altus shifter is definitely "mid range", the Tektro brakes too, not cheapo at all!

They don't have any neutral review sites? Facebook, or google, or yelp reviews? Only the reviews they have on their own site or paid reviews? Makes it hard to tell how many have a bad experience if they control the reviews.

funny I work in a actual bike shop that deals with all kinds of different bikes. People say the customer support is trash with himaway. Most of our customers say lessoned learned.

Seems like the right mix of value and performance. I imagine almost anything reasonable is selling like crazy now, anyway.

In the good old backwards EU it has a 250w motor for legality & the bike alone weighs 32 kg so effectively probably not much better or as good as a 12kg bike without motor? Waste of time in the EU/UK who don't really want ebikes it seems.

Rad isn't the 1st with this style but surely the ones to popularize it and ebike in general in the US . You can unlock Rad to 25mhp i read but there is a Big diff between 25 and 28mph on this bike . waiting for those Cobalt-less Tesla batteries to trickle down to inexpensive ebikes next ⚡💲

I would encourage those who are contemplating a Himiway to take my experience into account. It's just about 2 months since I plunked down $1549 and I'm still waiting for my cruiser. I've been promised various delivery dates in nice emails from different names--Jennie, Ellen, Yukyin--but the promises remain unfulfilled. The latest email promised that it would be shipped by the end of May. My emails and phone calls are now going unanswered which is very concerning. I know supply lines for bike parts are under pressure but they should've been honest about that when they took my money. Or waited to charge my credit card until the bike shipped.

Do you want to spend week after week after week explaining to someone in customer support the bike was delivered damaged and why it is unrideable? Do you want to spend another six weeks waiting for a replacement part for the replacement bike that is supposed to be covered under warranty? Do you want to collect endless emails from a company on why they aren't responsible? Do you want a bike that is essentially a giant paperweight? Then HimiwayBike might be your bike!

probably a good idea to follow up with 5 reasons not to buy a Himiway bike: -looks like a scam, smells like a scam, feels like a scam but its just how himiway does business. -Customer service is non existant rude and ready to hang up in order to not face the customer. -Shipping is never on time. -there is an undisclosed foreign transaction fee which is non refundable, -they charge a cancellation fee. whopping 15%! BEWARE!!! you're better off spending a bit more rather than losing your money on what is still in my case a gamble because who knows what I'll receive and when.

The Himiway Electric Cruiser is nice. However, the Customer Service at Himiway is terrible. Can never get a straight and honest answer from Himiway. Shipping and Delivery is NEVER on time or accurate. Let the Buyer Beware.

Himiway in my opinion is a poor excuse for company. It take forever to receive the bike. Since this video price has been raised a number of times. If they promise a bag with purchase, dont count on getting it. No customer service resolution. No you will pay hundreds more but not get more.
