The Zapatista Anthem (Spanish: Himno Zapatista) is the anthem of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN), a political group which launched a rebellion in the Mexican state of Chiapas on 1 January 1994. The music was taken from a Mexican Revolution corrido "Carabina 30-30".

@@061Hitachi My family fought on the bosnian side and a lot of them died or got injured. One of my uncles got his hands blown out by Western Bosnian Forces as a mark. The other died in 1992, he was killed by serbs. My grandparents knew so many people that died. Limbs filled the streets. My father grew up in a village next to Velika Kladusa (Where my mother is from) and the fighting there was brutal. The uncle on my fathers side fought for Western Bosnia. My father has many stories like, when a commander of the bosnian army came into this Pro APZB Village and he forced my dads family to cook for his units or they would be massacred for being traitors.

I love this. I always get mistaken for being Mexican because of how I look (I'm actually east african) and I remember always wanting to be white with blue eyes and light hair. But I, like you, attained class consciousness and realized that all this self hate was taught to us by the imperialists to make our subjugation easier. Heard an awesome version of this for the first time in that "1994" documentary that was on netflix. Liberation and Self-Rule will come one day for these magnificent people as long as they stand up for themselves! The Zapatistas are the definition of "fighting the good fight" For 30 years now they've been scaring the shit out of a government who tried to oppress and silence them.
