@@azuregrace214 I’m not dissing on it, I have nothing against “filler” when the writing is done good and this episode improved on the manga. I know several anime that extends scenes from the manga like Bleach, Fairy Tail, One Piece, some of which are an improvement.

The reason why Hinata loves Naruto goes deeper, it's not just because he saved her from bullies. He saved her from going down a rabbit hole of depression by being the sole inspiration in her life. She was born with responsibilities she couldn't handle and everyone looked at her with judging eyes. It made her isolated even inside her family causing her to retreat into her shell, Naruto was the first person to inspire her to try and break that shell, making her go through a positive path. And yes like that comment says being a least bit of kind to a child who's going through trauma means the world to them.

Exactly! But there is no point in explaining all this. People only think a trauma is valid if the character makes an evil face and a badass pose. These same people fail to realize how deep and strong it is that Naruto and Hinata remain kind and gentle until the end, overcoming all the shit they lived through. That's their strength, that's what makes them inspiring characters.

This broke me back then. Imagine reading the manga. A few weeks before I spent a week in denial, telling myself Kakashi didn't die. When I read this chapter I already knew Kishimoto was killing characters. Hinata is my favorite character in Naruto. I really closely identify with her. When I read this, I didn't spend a week in denial. No, I knew fully well Kishimoto was not pulling his punches. I went to spend an entire week feeling like my heart was shoved deep in the gutter, like that feeling when you want to cry but instead you just feel like something is stuck in your throat and won't go down no matter what. NOTHING I ever read has made me feel that way besides this scene.

She’s bodied almost immediately in the manga, hardly a fight. Her Lion Fists are blocked as soon as she activated it and never made an attempt at freeing Naruto from the rods, her struggle to reach him and her ninja way speech wasn’t in the manga either. The romance in this series isn’t that great honestly.

@Yo Momma That's the purpose of an anime adaptation, to make the manga scenes hit better. One of the greatest episodes in Shippuden was Shikmamaru grieving about Asuma's death with his dad which didn't even happen in the manga. Even Most of the fight scenes don't exist in the manga but those are still canon episodes made by greatest animators in the industry.

@@ghostspider2056 To be fair, you have one week to plot out, write, draw and ink a chapter. All while needing to get it reviewed by your editor, so it can be released on schedule. The anime already has the plot and story, they just need to animate it and add in and extend scenes to meet the 20-23 minute run time. And they have more room to take their time with scenes. Not to mention, outside of an editor, most mangaka are one person. Where the anime has a team of people.

I've read somewhere that Sasuke's mother (forgot her name right now) wanted to adopt Naruto after Kushina and Minato died, since she was close friends with Kushina, but Fugaku (Sasuke's dad) said the village wouldn't approve it because it would just look like the Uchiha Clan was in possession of the nine tails, and they were already cast out because of the danger they imposed

Naruto was living in a dream without knowing depth of this universe problem and he wants to be Hokage one of the most important position in world. I think Pain's arc is eye opener of Naruto to see that world of Shinobi is not that simple as he is thinking.

I think "living in a dream" is not the best way to say what I think you meant. He never had time and conditions to think about it while trying to survive and having the strength to move forward. Naruto live in so much shit, with so much weight on his shoulders, that he couldn't even think about simple feelings. To charge this to him would be like charging a beggar to understand macroeconomics and how it impacts directly on his life condition. But either way, I agree with you.

For me this is the most emotional episode of Naruto Shippuden. Yes, I watched other episodes (I wont spoil it for them) but damn. This is the Peak of Naruto Shippuden and seeing hinata confessing in which we all waited for, it was soooo heavy at that time.

Naruto and Pain are two sides of the same coin. Naruto believes that if everyone came together in peace then there would be no need for pain, while Pain/Nagato on the other side believes that you must know and feel pain to know and feel peace. Easily one of the best dynamics in shonen anime in my opinion.

I think that stories as the one of this arc are too complex to be fully understood in the first watch. People can act correctly out of empathy (what pain said about understanding each other) or fear (you fear the punishment you will receive for acting the wrong way), the plan and point of view of pain are consistent with his idea that people cannot understand each other, so fear is the only way for him. Empathy cannot be forced like fear, it needs to be taught and that's very difficult to achieve.

I can see the sadness in lindsey's eyes as the episode progress but I never thought she didn't like hinata probably because she's weird and timid and shy but regardless that hits hard in this episode. I already imagined that she didn't like Hinata. The profile of characters she likes seems quite restricted and does not include shyness and a "fragile" posture, even if there is a clear evolution in the character and a valid reason for her to be as she is.

@@johnwarren8804SPOILER Itachis still my personal fav but i get what ur saying. from a philosophical standpoint, Pain probably trumps every other character in this show (and ohter shows too) including naruto and all the main casts. Unlike Naruto who has no actual plan to bring world peace but also unlike Madara who already gave up on the world. In all honesty, at the end of the show I believe it wasn't naruto who brought peace but because it was the Akatsuki who declared war on the world and forced the nations to band together to defeat a common enemy. Pain's ideal came true, just not in the form of a bijuu weapon but the 4th great ninja war. Even Gaara's speech at the beginning was what literally Pain said lol. Something along the lines of "We were all hurt by the Akatsuki. When we all share the same pain, there can be no enemies. We are no longer separate villages but just shinobi" something like that. So basically, yeah, Pain was right all along. And this happens for many other villains who think the same way in other shows. To attain peace, sacrifice is usually needed to be made. It just looks bad when they do it because the villains have to initiate the change. Imagine if this show had no Akatsuki or some big bad that threatens the world. How would Naruto ever get them to work together. Naruto and the rest of hte world literally followed the path that Pain and Madara set down for them. It kinda is like what Lelouch did at the end. Became the enemy to unite the world.

@@alexchaser320 i mean yeah he was able to convince nagato cuz nagato was very similar to naruto. had the same teacher, the same dream, the same hope that the world couldve come together to create peace through non violent means. the only diff was their experience as nagato realized that the only way ppl would stop fighting is if something more dangerous than each other appears. just like our world peace is kept through the existence of nukes, that was what nagato wanted. our own history is proof that nagato's plan would work. the bombs we dropped on japan devastated the country, wiping 2 cities off the face of the map. and as a result, we were able to end the war against japan. through great sacrifice was peace founded. naruto's talk no jutsu is useful when its just like 1 person like zabuza but it didnt change the world. without the threat of hte akatsuki, the world wouldve started the 4th ninja war against each other. naruto wouldnt have been able to change shit. nagato decided to belive in naruto because he himself desperately wanted to believe that his old dream was correct and that there was a way to achieve peace without pain.

And aside from the fillers from Naruto OG, this is the first time we actually see Hinata start acting like better a badass (particularly with the blood running down our face). Despite her being the timid type. I guess Naruto really did rub off some confidence on his childhood stalker.

Gotta give some credit to Kishimoto for not pushing the female characters to the side just to fill the gaps in the story or overly sexualizing them all the time like most authors often do, i think Hinata is definitely my favorite female ninja 💜

And each female character has its own distinct characteristics, both in personality and in design. I understand that it is little, but in an industry where the pressure is for characters with impossible bodies, very few clothes and simple personality based on deres, it ended up being important.

I watched Naruto for 10 years for one reason and one reason only, to see if Hinata would end up with Naruto, you can imagine how I felt when she finally confessed and got wrecked. Hinata is a legend, screw Sakura, hated her from the start. Basically skipped all your reactions for Naruto since I don't have the patience, but this one I've been waiting for.

@@leoeme174 I mean even if you didn’t like her character, it’s still extremely sad realizing through the eyes of Naruto losing someone that literally confessed their feelings for you before being ruthlessly killed before your eyes as he helplessly watched. I won’t argue she had great development up to this point but if you’re not crying for Hinata at least you’re crying for the sake of Naruto having to witness that.

@@sidroc.237 I agree, but watching reactions and seeing comments out there, I realized that many people can only connect with characters they really like. It doesn't matter how deep and sad the scene is. Besides, I'm not even sure if they like Naruto that much.

@@leoeme174 I know Carson does a lot. You can tell how giddy he gets for some parts and still commentates how much he likes the show and little details during fights that he finds fascinating stating once before that this show is one of his favorites. As for Lindsey though you’re probably right bc she seems annoyed with a lot of instances in the show which is 100% understandable but sucks to see in a reaction video.

Come on, why do people always bring up Itachi and make comparisons. It's/was an era of war, everybody has lost many people. Itachi lost his parents and his Uchiha neighbourhood but we don't know how many peolpe there were. Based on the Size of the village I'd say less than 100. SPOILER ALERT: Nagato had no one except for his family and lost both of them at the hands of others. Morever the Hidden Rain Village and all the other villages in his nations had been totally destroyed, which means that thousands of people have died, included other family members of his. Then he lost all his akatsuki friends that were killed by tobi. Let's stop making comparisons among different situations, the pain you feel losing someone dear is the same

You wondered how Naruto didn't become a psycho, if you look at Gaara in part 1, they were two sides of the same coin. Gaara was treated also identically, except the final break was almost being murdered by his uncle and he did become a psycho, until he met Naruto. And now they are close friends and Gaara is loved by his village as well
