Doesn’t matter if Howard is fronting or if it’s Jesse, KSE will never disappoint. Each vocalist brought a different vibe from the band that helped guys like me get through some tough shit in life. Major respect for Killswitch Engage as a whole.
If you don't know yet, the singer in this song was their original singer and inbetween that time they had another amazing singer named Howard Jones. You should do "the end of heartache" it has an awesome video and it will give you a different perspective of KSE. They are one of the best
Now that you've listened to a Killswitch song with Jesse as the lead, you have to listen to a Killswitch song with Howard as the lead. I would suggest "This Is Absolution" or "Break The Silence".
This was an incredible comeback by Jesse Leach. He was the original singer but left a while back. Howard Jones stepped in and did a great job, even having a few albums worth of really great songs. I somehow think Leach gives them some kind of fire and energy that makes the songs more intense.
Actually jessie is the original singer (check out last serenade) i cant remember why he left but howard is actually the second singer but yes both are amazing :)
David Parker Jesse is a beast screamer as is Howard. I personally am fond of both their vocal styles in cleans too. Vibrato is the word that you're looking there for Howard's quivering vox.
I love how this music video is basically just the band & crew having a good time. It's obvious these guys love what they're doing and that's the way it should be.
Believe that no vocalist is better than the other. They have their own styles, but I believe you'll love their stuff with Howard Jones like "The End of Heartache" (album version), "My Curse" or "Rose of Sharyn". For more Jesse stuff, I indicate "My Last Serenade" and "Cut Me Loose"
If u liked that groovy riff here then , lamb of god is one long groovy riffy band , like every song is a new groovy riff , here'a some recommendations Lamb of god- Ghost walking, grace, in your words, reclamation, one gun
If you want another form of Killswitch. Try out "The End of Heartache" or "Rose of Sharyn" ...or just listen to em all. Killswitch is one of the greatest bands ever.
I'm so glad you did KSE! They're the band which really cemented my love for metal and it's just been a journey ever since I first heard them back in 2005. You may find a bunch of fans divided about which of their 2 vocalists are better, but I just love what both of them brought to the band. You'll find straight up bangers from any of their albums no matter which vocalist was one it.
All That Remains is a great band to check out. They have a lot of the clean singing combined with screaming, especially in their newer stuff. The older stuff is heavier. The Fall of Ideals is an absolutely incredible album.
My all time favorite band!!! More Killswitch Engage please!!? They have 2 different singers in the band maybe do the other next time? I’d recommend The End of Heartache or Rose of Sharyn (Live Wacken (2008)!!!
Really love your videos, keep uploading reaction videos every day for OUR vitamins haha. And also i really love how you explain the lyrics to us, love you bro!
Poison was the best Album ever of Bullet for my Valentine............. And Architects are therefore best Band ever for Like Everything lyricly or musically.... And I Love how youve become a metalhead Up Abitur nie in such a Short time but.. AS thus band .. there are so many more and IT will never Stop........ IT Wont ever... And will BE the greatest Thing ever to You.... Sry for spelling
You should also check out their cover of Holy Diver (originally by Dio) it's really good and has a different singer that I personally prefer, i think that you would enjoy that as well
Killswitch Engage - My last serenade Also Alex just so you can order stuff in your head a little, Trivium Gojira and this band are classified as "metalcore".
John Johnson Yes. See which singer he has a liken to more. Is he Team Jesse or Team Howard? I prefer Howard over Jesse in Vocals however, I feel Jesse fits KSE more with the flow of music with the vocal flow.
I'm excited to see you excited about one of my favorite metal bands 😁 If you continue down the Killswitch rabbit hole you'll find their old stuff is just as brilliant as their newer stuff (Howard vs. Jesse both powerful) Rose of Sharyn being one of my all time fav Killswitch songs 🤘
As a guitar player who’s come a long way after being inspired by killswitch engage, I have to say, their riffs are some of the most nostalgic and distinctly constructed riffs in metal. I fell in love with their former singer, Howard Jones. But even without his voice, the music still hits me in the heart.
I honestly think he should check out "Nothing Left" first before listening to "The Sound of Truth". Just for the reason that both music videos are linked and "Nothing Left" is the first of the two. Both are some of AILD's best material though.
I think An ocean between us. Is the best song to listen to for a first as I lay dying song. It's literally every type they've ever been in one song lol.
Just subscribed, I think it's great That you have opened up your mind to different music styles! You mentioned a balance of singing in this song, I LOVE Killswitch Engage for that and another band to check out is Bullet For My Valentine they are awesome! My favorite gas station drink is a fountain soda Coke.
All I'm saying is, your reaction video is the most realest think I've ever seen before. And I really appreciate how you accept other music genres instead of automatically assuming that it's shit. If you wanna hear some good deep vocals by them, one of their most popular and famous songs called My Curse will have some moments that you will love as well as lyrics that are very meaningful as all their other songs are.
Hell ya, Periphery is sick as hell. The bad thing is good but imo he should check out "Marigold", their newest song. Catchy as hell with sick instrumentals and amazing lyrics but both are honestly awesome.
I just got into a band this week called Sons of Apollo. I would highly recommend the songs God of the Sun and Signs of the Time. They are metal with a lot of cool things going on with the guitars to make them synths, basically, and the guy’s singing is all clean, melodic vocals. But definitely this song just got you a new subscriber! Keep up the awesome work. I love your open-minded reactions. My go-to gas station drink is Code Red Mtn Dew
I'm glad you finally got introduced to the great world of Killswitch Engage and that you really had a good first experience with a awesome song. My suggestion for a another Killswitch song is "This Is Absolution", I would like you the hear both Jesse and Howard to form your own opinion on both of them. : I don't think I have commented on your videos before but I have been enjoying your vids for a couple of weeks now, keep up the good work my man : )
Hell yea! Good to see some KSE in the rotation. You should also do (oh shit here comes my first request bro!!) My Last Serenade because that’s the OG track that broke killswitch onto the metal scene and everybody was like “wait, whut?” Also the End Of Heartache with Howard singing gonna blow yo mind. Keep up the good work homie! Cheers from the ATX. And water because they don’t sell Zevia at gas stations. Yet.
Interesting how bands with such dark imagery and rough appearances offer up the most uplifting lyrics! I find this more and more as I get into metal and get to know others who enjoy it.
Love that the original singer is back with them, and Adam is such a sick guitarist. You would like the lead singer, Jesse, and Adam's side project TIMES OF GRACE, check out their song LIVE IN LOVE, or THE FORGOTTEN ONE. Great reaction man, keep em coming!
Allegaeon - Proponent for Sentience if you want to hear some good guitar work from a lesser known band, you would actually be showing the metal head fans on your channel something new as well :)
one of my favorite aspects of this sub-genre (early-metalcore/new wave of american heavy metal) is that they can have heavy riffs and heavy vocals while also nice melodies with clean, amazing singing. this what really got me started into listening to heavy music. one band i think you'll like is called trivium and the title song off their latest record called The Sin and The Sentence. its got great drumming, amazing guitar and bass lines, blistering solos great riffs, i hope you react to it soon! As for convenience drinks, its either Dr. Pepper or arizona watermelon. if its a road trip its rockstar or monster
I'm a fan of Killswitch :) I am going to throw this suggestion up again in case you didn't see it Avenged Sevenfold - Roman Sky. Its so different and under the radar but its so good!
Dude the first time i heard this song was with your reaction. And im having a pretty crap time right now with my health and my family. But this song has become a little beacon of hope in my life. Any your summary at the end of the song was dead on. Great channel great vids keep going man. Join us on the dark side of music :D We have cookies
yooo if you love your metal with a bit of cleans thrown in with the growls, look up Scar Symmetry. Morphogenesis, Ghost Prototype II: Deus Ex Machina, and Artificial Sun Projection are all great songs to start with
If you love this style... Old all that remains... Like stuff off the fall of ideals... More trivium... There are many songs wayyyy better than the one you reacted to that really shows Matt's voice
Listen to their album As Daylight Dies , the songs My Curse , The Arms of Sorrow , Daylight Dies , Still Beats Your Name , and Break The Silence are all great songs you should check out. Thats at the time they had Howard Jones as the vocalist and he did amazing.
KSE is my favourite band of all time, should check out their live performances of "this fire burns", "rose of sharyn", end of heartache", "no end in sight". all of those songs will blow you away with the mix of heavy vocals and melodic choruses.
OK im just gonna say it... "Insomnium", those guys... ok I dont like growl, it sounds weird but I just dont like it but I love metal, Insomnium and Amon amarth are the only 2 bands where "singing" dont bother me that much, especially Insomnium (melodic death metal, it just sounds bad) I discover something new in every song all the time, their metal is incredibly melodic, inspiring, sad and melancholic at the same time, and their songs would make some nice philharmonic pieces. Try them, they are underrated. "While we sleep" is a good place to start.
Dude yes! Absolutely a great way to get someone into melodeath since their music is so beautiful. I think their most accessible track might be The Promethean Song tbh
MATE! Loving all these videos 🤘🏻 3 things I hope you get to. -my fears have become phobias, as blood runs black (the drums alone will make your head explode. In a good way) -nekrogoblikin, dressed as goblins -any parkway drive from their first 3 albums 🤘🏻 All of these are nothing like you heard yet. Promise you that much
Mutated Nut I disagree. Asylum is, by far, their more aggressive record and is probably their best record lyrically. Not saying anything off that record is bad but I think Asylum would be a better album in general to start off listening to.
Your hearing the best voice ever to brace the likes of a metal band who writes only material that is positive and true. What’s not to like these guys all seem to be having a good time playing music which is how I felt when I performed in front of people which is the BEST feeling I ever embraced
ALL NIGHTMARE LONG BY METALLICA PLEEEAAASSSEEEE BRO TRUST ME YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED. COMING FROM A LONG TIME LISTENER ITS LIKE MASTER OF PUPPETS ON STEROIDS . Thank you man and keep it up boss 🔥🔥
