This is not the Woodstock you think it is. This festival is in Poland and recently changed the name to Pol'and'Rock Festival. It's one of the biggest festivals in Europe with a record attendance of 750.000 visitors. The Sabaton show was mindblowing, I've been there. The best songs from this show are Uprising, 40:1, Carolus Rex and Metal Crue
Not really. Yes they are quite popular because of the WW2 themed songs, where of course Poland plays a major role, but i think there are more known bands.
Bro, you NEED to watch 40:1 from this same concert. It's about a small Polish bataljon holding off a force which outnumbered them 40 to 1 for quite some days in WW2. This concert is Woodstock in Poland, so you can imagine the atmosphere during this song. It's a must see if you like Sabaton live, trust me on this one! Long time fan
I agree, it is a great song and video. My only issue with the song is probably an unintentional slight on Sabaton's part in that it was 42,200 Nazi troops against a maximum estimate of 720 Polish troops which would mean it was actually at least 58.6:1 if not higher depending upon the estimate, and that's not counting the tanks on the Nazi side. Though, as i said, i'm sure it was an unintentional mistake on Sabaton's part and don't actually hold it against them.
You want more Sabaton, try these out. "Inmate 4859" "The Last Battle" "The Last Stand" "The Art of War" "Sparta" I can keep going as well...but we'll stop here for now.
The Ghost Division was actually largely made up of people who didn't agree with Hitler's ideology. Their original commander was even executed for openly defying him. They were just a band of (badass) soldiers who happened to be born under our flag.(I'm german)
Blind Guardian - Mirror mirror | Bard’s song (In the forest) Avantasia - Reach out for the light | The Seven Angels Theocracy - Hide in the fairy tale Kamelot - The Haunting ft Simone Simons Helloween - Straight out of hell Demon Hunter - Not ready to die Demons and Wizards - Fiddler on the Green Powerwolf - Sanctified with dynamite Tengger Cavalry - Cavalry in Thousands
It's a good song because it's based on the senseless slaughter that was WW1 and it makes you think and when you look at the loses on both sides especially at the Somme and Verdun and when you think about all those who died and the scale it brings a tear to your eyes it does with me anyway.
In the first world war front line only move a few hundered metres per month. The Ghost division moved 200km (135ish miles) in one night! Thats why they are the Panzer elite, born to compete... Ghost Division!
This was at Woodstock Festival Poland (now Pol'and'Rock Festival) in 2012, been there (; they are very popular in Poland because of few of their songs (mainly 40:1 and Uprising), that's why such a big crowd. Overall they are a decent power metal band, very pleasant to the ear and original. Big shoutout to all power metal fans all around the world! ;)
@Knasterreal1 that is taking it too far, they have maybe as most 5-10k on their own shows where they headline when on tour, too me that is not enormous crowd it was big crowd cause it was free festival
@Knasterreal1 If you judge a bands greatness by how much crowd they gather, than yes, but I was more about the music they write/play. Of course it all depends on the point of view, and my is that whenever I hear a new song from them it sounds like I've heard them play it before (; It's not that I don't like their music, but I tend to skip them more than some other power metal bands I have on my "car playlist" (;
Sabaton is the single best live show I've ever seen, and I'm SO GLAD they have the support in the US now to have headlining tours. I've been to six of their shows and will happily go every time they tour. Second to none
If you like powermetal here are some bands/songs to check out: Blind Guardian/Mirror Mirror Blind Guardian/The Bard's Song + Valhalla live at Wacken Orden Ogan/The Things We Believe In Orden Ogan/Fields of Sorrow And last but not least!!! THERE IS THIS SMALL RUSSIAN BAND WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING: They're called Stilverlight and so is their debut album from 2014. They just released a new song as well at the end of last year. I highly recommend all of you to check out their songs Decide and Believe, One Night Before the winter and By the Dawn
As a student of Antique History (and having spent a lot of time on classic Greece) Sparta is my favourite of Sabatons songs. For one they dispel the myth that they were only 300 Men defending that pass. 300 Spartiates, yes, but on the final days they still had around 700 Thebans with them, meaning that there were around 1000 men covering the retreats of the other around 6000 soldiers. But, more importantly, it really is just a great song.
Welcome to the world of Sabaton a Swedish power metal band. For bonus the drummer in Sabaton are married to Floor Jansen of Nightwish. Bring more reactions to both Nightwish and Sabaton please.
And once upon a time, ReVamp (Floor's other band) toured with Sabaton circa 2014-ish. Video here --> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xyCdvclEjM0.html
@@razzledazzleist : Actually, watch the Nightwish documentary: When Floor is singing with Nightwish in 2012, Sabaton is with them later, on tour. Especially one of the Austrailian shows they had in 2013.
This was at Woodstock Festival Poland in 2012, the crowd is estimated at 550K. They also filmed their first DVD at this concert. If you want a gear change, Sabaton also performs an amazing Power Ballad called "Ballad of Bull" about an Australian Service member in WWII who successfully carried a dozen wounded men out of combat to live another day. Easily one of my favorite bands of all time.
Something Sabaton inspires in its fans is the sense of pride their songs bring up. When you this incredible music start up, and then realize the song is about a famous hero or battle of your history it makes you want to hear more.
Sabaton puts on the best damn concerts. Went to see them twice already in L.A. and they ALWAYS treat their fans right. Doesn't matter if they're playing for over half a million like at Woodstock or if they're playing for a couple hundred at the Wiltern. They always give 200%! When my wife and I went to see them back in '17 and again in '18 they NEVER failed to entertain. They also don't give a damn about ethnicity, creed, religion, etc. "Heavy Metal is for everyone." - Joakim Brodén (Sabaton lead singer) \m/
@@BigBrother_316 Singing triumphantly about war is kind of glorifying it, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes you want to think about how horrible war is, but sometimes you just wanna headbang and sing GHOST DIVISION!!
@@captainoblivious_yt I don't get the impression that they're glorifying anything. It's more like they sing about things and do them justice with both lyrics and instrumentals. This song, for example, doesn't come off as "the Ghost Division was awesome" or anything to me, it's more of a "there were these tanks, the Ghost Division, and we're teaching you about them while reflecting their general behavior in the rhythm of the song" if you think about it.
@@captainoblivious_yt Great War is an AMAZING new song of theirs that is all about the horrific things that went through the minds of soldiers during the Great War.
Congrats on the engagement! And Im glad you've discovered Sabaton, they've been one of my utmost favourite bands since about 2008 when I first saw them live, in a tiny little rockbar where they could barely fit the entire band on the stage! Seen them 7 more times since then and hoping to keep counting!
YES!!!! By the way they recently started a history channel on RU-vid where they sit down with a historian and he explains in depth the battles and wars behind their songs so far they have done 40:1 (the battle of Wizna) and blood of bannokburn - what happened after braveheart in the Scottish revolution It’s worth checking out.
I love Sabaton. My Holocaust class instructor actually loved them and introduced me to them. Great class, great instructor, great band. Edit: I love how much energy the vocalist has. He's amazing. But if you want another song, my favorite by them is Panzerkampf. It's about the nazis invading Russia and the battle of Kursk. (Largest ww2 tank battle. Or the world I think).
I've been enjoying your channel, having fun watching somebody enjoy this music that has meant so much to me for a few decades now. Sabaton is one of my son's favorite bands, so I was able to react hearing for the first time along with you! I've been watching their tour schedule so I can take my son next time they are in town. Definitely looking forward to it now! From this video it's obvious these guys have a stage presence that is off the charts!
Glad Sabaton brings you as much joy as they do to me!! Congrats on your engagement man!! Oh and more Nightwish soon please ... maybe Stargazers live at Wembly 🤘🏻😬🤘🏻
I love Sabaton. So happy you are finally touching on better music "just digging" :) I seriously wish you would do more Nightwish. Show them some love brah. they have shorter songs. Romanticide, Ghost river, Storytime, Song of myself from the Wacken 2013 show alone would fit that. But I still think The Greatest Show on Earth live in Tampere. I would also love to see you visit other power metal and symphonic metal bands. So much more there that have barely been touched by the reaction community.
Agreed, many more bands in the symphonic metal genre that goes unnoticed :s, as much as I worship Nightwish , they do cast a shadow on other equally deserving bands. Dark Sarah - Dance with the Dragon, Delain - Masters of Destiny, Ancient Bards - Impious Dystopia Therion - To Mega Therion, And many many more.
Dude, I love your reaction videos. they and your self are dope as hell brruhh, keep doing what you are doing and congratulations on your engagement xp x
Been to their consert live here in Lithuania. They are 100% pure energy!!! This song is about Battle of France where German armour led by Desert Fox himself in a bold move cut off French army and won. Earning the fame.
I just must say that I absolutley love and appreciate what you are doing. You are open minded and listens to songs from bands like Sabaton, Nightwish, Ghost, Slipknot etc. So THANK YOU!
Watching them live is freaking amazing. They have SO MUCH ENERGY. You can tell that they love what they're doing and it carries to the energy of the crowd. A must-see.
Sabaton are one of my favorite groups! You should continue listening to them! Good luck in the future Alex! Congrats for the engagement!Live long and happy life with her! Make her feel like she`s the only one on this planet!
Within Temptation anything from the Black Symphony concert I didn’t expect you to upload yesterday it was couples day....which my husband and I traditionally get pizza and chill
Congrats on the proposal! :) Sabaton is an awesome band. I saw them live at Wacken back in 2013. and there was a guy in the audience that had the same armor jacket as the singer that he made himself, and the singer asked him if he'd trade :) Also, in the meet and greet they were scheduled to give out autographs for an hour, but there were so many people waiting they stayed on for almost 3 hours until they signed everyone's stuff :)
TWILIGHT FORCE! TWILIGHT FORCE!! TWILIGHT FORCE!!! They're power metal, and Joakim the singer for Sabaton is in a few of their songs. Forest of Destiny is their best one IMO!
@@barroomhero134 I've been posting for months for him to listen to Twilight Force, but nobody ever sees the comment lol. I really hope he gets around to it eventually.
I figured I should also say that the first time I ever saw Sabaton in concert was in Charleston SC. They were an opening band for Trivium. After they played and Trivium was getting ready to play afterwards, my gf and I left to go back to our hotel room. I had the worst headache from singing along with Sabaton during their show. It was amazing. When we got back to our hotel, I pushed the button for the elevator and I heard somebody say "Hey, I love your shirt". Turned around and it was Chris and Hannes from the band, they bombarded us and we got to hang out for about 20 mins, took some pics with them, and they even got the rest of the band to autograph our cds. For the first time seeing these guys in concert, and meeting them afterwards, it was AMAZING!!
Quite late comment, been checking out some of your Sabaton reactions and I love the fact that you not only acknowledge that they always have a historical context in their lyrics - but that you actually spend a minute or two to read up on it. I think having that added context brings so much more to listening to the songs.
One of my personal favorite Joakim moment: He was asked in an interview if it was true that Sabaton has two war tanks. And he deadass said “No. We have two.”
So glad you finally reacted to Sabaton. I've seen them in concert in Seattle and I can say that they bring that same level of energy that they had in this video playing in front of thousands of people to the little venue with a few hundred people crammed into it that I saw them play at. They put on a great show. Primo Victoria and Final Solution would both be amazing songs to hear you react to next, those are a couple of my favorites
Sabaton makes me proud to be a neighbor to Sweden 😊👌🏼👌🏼🇳🇴🇳🇴 Sabaton is phenomenal live performers! I god damn love this band! Your channel rocks dude! You are so fun to watch! Btw, i have never seen a vocalist with this much energy on stage ever. 👌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼😃
I’m not big on this band, but they are an absolute blast live. I saw them coheadline with trivium, and they have so much energy. Don’t own their music, but would still see them live again
Dude. Sabaton - 40:1 @Woodstock Also, if you want something "different" from them, try The Final Solution. It's a song about the holocaust. You will thank me later :)
