I guess metal is like Nokia - connecting people :) The truth is there's no second band singing about Polish history( not even in Poland) like Sabaton . Songs like 40:1 (about battle of Wizna) , Uprising ( Warsaw uprising) or Winged hussars ( Polish cavalry known as Polish hussars) are just examples why they have so many fans in Poland :) ps. There is no words to describe Pol'and'rock festival- people, atmosphere, concerts, 3 days of freedom .. i can just highly recommend ;) .. and Jinjer is confirmed on 2021 line up!
@@AcMan1990 I have no doubt its a fantastic festival! I havent met one person who has heard of Sabaton that didn't like them. Such an incredible take on history

@@04me93 I have. My ex. That is one of reasons why she is ex now hahahahahaha
a coment to this, some people when they had negative comments about Britney Spears and her singing, saying that she was bad at singing. Then u had these idiot children who listen to her music and they stated "but its not easy to run around and sing same time" This is something metal singers have been doing since the beginning.
I would recommend "Swedish Pagans" live at Wacken 2019. It was their 20th Anniversary Show so they played on two separate stages at once. They invited former members that haven't been in Sabaton since 2012. They also had special guest appearance by Tina Guo, she played cello on the Wonder Woman theme song and helping on the Wonder Woman 1984 soundtrack. I would also recommend "En Livstid i Krig" (Live "The Great Tour - Gothenburg) it is them singing in their native language and the crowd is great. En Livstid i Krig means "A Lifetime of War"
That Wacken 2019 show was an insane concert and without a doubt the best I've EVER seen of Sabaton. The tank, the guests, the lengths of the show, the pyros... wow...
Aaaand hat's OFF!! :D Yess "Swedish Pagans" live @wacken2019 is one of my favorite performance from them too. (Soo far) also "Night witches" and "Red Baron" live from The Great Tour (you can find them in their official YT chanel) is awesome and a MUST :) (personal opinion) . Enjoy!
Yeah, once I learned this is their normal opener I didn't think it was that bad and it probably got worked out real fast. It's very common to hear that in the beginning of sets for bands with floor monitors, so no big deal. Still loved it!
@@TankTheTech They start with Ghost Division is cause it gets the place pumped right at the start, it's not a technical song, meaning they can rock out and have fun, while the engineers can easily tweak the sound.
40-1 & Uprising at Woodstock should be next. If you want to see some Polish pride, those two songs will display it. There isn't a bad Sabaton song, however there's a noticeable difference in key between album versions & live versions, but there's no difference in energy.
@@TankTheTech Typically they do that because the band doesn't do backing vocals on the album, but they do sing them live, so they play at a lower key so it sounds right since they're a bunch of baritones.
110% need to do Uprising from the same show. It’s about the Polish resistance in WW2. This festival was in Poland and the crowd was insane. They basically are required to play it in Poland cause they’re afraid of riots if they don’t. Also, idk if you saw, but Chris’s custom guitar that he uses now has a camo finish and costs $8,000
That must've been crazy. I saw them in Israel and we nearly brought the club down for Counterstrike. Can only imagine what it looks like X50 in an open air festival. And of course the Polish crowd has 2 great songs :)
Sabaton goes crazy. Their energy is absolutely through the roof. Their lead guitarist, Chris Rorland, has mentioned a few fantastic guitar influences that I am a big fan of. Adrian Smith, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani. Plus, he's got some damn good gear I would kill to have. I went and did some digging and found his guitar roster over the past few years. I would say 82nd All The Way is a great one to check out, and then one that i'm personally biased towards "Ghost In The Trenches", is about the most highly decorated Native American soldier in Canadian military history and the most effective sniper of the First World War. But all in all, you really can't go wrong with anything these guys do. Killer video as always, bud! Looking forward to the next one!
@@Happymali10 oohh.. that would be cool, she h!s a mom who can teach her singing and a dad that can teach her to play drums and I guess Hannes can play the guitar aswell so she'll be ready to go up in stage whenever she wants :)
Thumbs up for Fear Factory! Carolus Rex is a beast of a song by Sabaton 😊 There's a live version at Woodstock if you wanna check out. But I personally like the studio version for its epicness. Another killer performance by them from the same show is Uprising.
you should to the battle of the bands ! Sabaton - 82nd all the way. And after that its Amaranthe - 82nd all the way(sabaton cover) both are just pure awesomeness
You should really listen to “en livstid I krig - live in Gothenburg”. The performance is amazing and it’s a bit different from what you’ve seen, I really think you would enjoy it. And it would be interesting to se you listen to them sing in Swedish (turn on subs to understand the lyrics). Cheers!
I would recommend their "En livstid i krig" live in Gothenburg just because the cool way it was filmed. Also song Great war has some epic pyro shots in official video.
I got to see them live a few years back in Denver, CO. They were touring with Trivium and by God they tore down the house. I managed to get close enough to toss my hat on stage, (I got carried away in the moment..) and Joakim actually bent over mid song and picked it up and put it on his head. Man oh man, I wish I wouldve gotten that on video.
Sabaton live is incredible. And Joakim has this kind of energy the whole time. I totally recommend to see them live if you have the chance. I have seen them multiple times and they always start with Ghost Division and they are running on the stage with the first line: "Fast as the wind, the invasion has begun". Other recommendations: The whole Wacken 2019 concert the bands 20th anniversary concert on 2 stages simultaneously (3 songs are on RU-vid ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vPbaLrbU6Ho.html, the rest was available on magenta music). On their RU-vid channel they are currently releasing a new live video from "The Great Tour" (Start of 2020) every Sunday. This year they played on Wacken world wide on the XR Stage (available on Magenta Music) Then there ist their History channel Sabtaton History where they go in depth on the songs background. Song recommendation i don't know where to start: 40-1, Night Witches, Winged Hussards, Midway, Carolus Rex, Swedish pagans (do this one on a live video). And before i forget: NOCH EIN BIER
They are the best live show ive ever seen. So much fun. Getting and entire theater singing Swedish pagans at max volume or night witches! I raise you a beer and then the winged hussars arrived!
You can never go wrong with any of their songs. How about something different? Sabaton did killer covers for Metallica’s For Whom the Bell Tolls and Rammstein’s Feuer Frei. Maybe Battle of the Bands with Sabaton soon?
For cool ass live shows I’d recommend “Night Witches” and “The Red Baron” from the 2020 Great Tour (they went through Europe and a couple of shows in Russia before everything shut down). Both songs are fast and about pilots, Night Witches about the WW2 all-female Soviet 588th Night bomber regiment and the Red Baron about a German WW1 flying ace (whose name escapes me at the moment) with 80 confirmed kills. Both have a really interesting and fun camera angle, Night Witches dials up pyrotechnics to 11 (to someone with no experience in pyrotechnics) and the Red Baron shows off a lot more audience interaction and awesome props/customized instrument/what ever you can call what they did to that organ. It’s likely not gonna be to hard for you to find a show when we get the current situation under control, as in a normal year I’ve heard that they tour over 200 days. If you wanna check out some other music videos, my recommendations would be “Fields of Verdun” and “Seven Pillars of Wisdom”, both very well directed. The first showing some of the brutalities of WW1 trench warfare, and the second being filmed on location in the Sahara Desert with Indy Nidel who is the historian in Sabatons own history channel (heading back from shooting the band got into a pretty bad car accident, enough so that they had to cancel a couple of shows but they recovered, Indy wasn’t in the accident as he had an extra day of filming on camel back (they show some really cool photos from that on the relevant Sabaton History episode))
"The audio is gonna be killer.." 😬 Saw them live last year and I wish I had 10% of Joakim's energy. That dude must be drinking redbull like water or something.
I saw them open for Amon Amarth in 2014 or 15 in a small American venue (Higher Ground in Burlington, Vermont). They are every bit as good on a small stage as they are on a big one.
Ahhh Sabaton. The band that you can go nuts rocking out to, or just quietly listen and learn about history. They're hilarious, amazing, and an absolute beast as a live act.
Woodstock is absolutely a legendary performance from these guys but I definitely recommend seeing more recent live videos! They've been posting videos from their most recent tour that got cut off from covid 19. Must see recrnt videos include: The Red Baron, Night Witches, and En Livstid I Krig (this one was magical). Thanks for the reactions man, keep rocking 🤘🤘
Saw these guys in Houston back in 2015 when they opened for Nightwish. Not sure who got the better reception, Nightwish or Sabaton. The show was killer.
Probably said before but reading up on the historic event the song is about beforehand gives an deeper understanding and appreciation of the lyrics and their meaning. 40-1 is a great example. The only thing most people have heard about Polish troops is the horse riding cavalry attacking German tanks. 40-1 tells the truth that the Polish could, and did, kick ass with the best of them.
I love this song from them, especially considering that Rommel was the leader of the Ghost Division. The man sent telegrams as if he lived in 2021. "Am on the coast" - Erwin Rommel Aside from that, I've seen them live twice. They're so amazing. They have amazing energy, Joakim smashes his knee over and over, and they have a great stage precense. They're also hilarious (though I think many of the jokes they cracked are just because of the many feuds Sweden and Denmark have had, and I saw them in Copenhagen the second time around(first time in Belgium)). Sabaton is one of my favorite bands. Not exactly what I look to listen to every day, but by god, would I go see them live again if I had the chance. This band is amazing, and educational at the same time. All around amazing.
If you think this stage show is good. Watch 40:1 from same show. Like I said on Bismark vid. As a roadie. You'll love the props as they send the Polish crowd wild.
Dude, I have had the pleasure of seeing them twice now, and both times they played a tiny, maybe 300 person venue in Calgary and both times they were amazing. They were fun, they goofed around with the crowd, they put on amazing sets, and are 100% worth seeing live. Correction, I've seen them three times.
If you get lucky, they may just tour with Nightwish again 🤞. My first time hearing them was when they opened for Nightwish and I was an instant fan. We also chatted to Joakim for a bit after the show and he was such a nice guy!
My favorite song from Sabaton is easily Carolus Rex. It's the title track for the album with the same name and it was the album to get them their first platinum award. Album description: Powerful lyrics, huge production, heavy riffs and everything put together creates an epic sound. Most people would get bored after 2 or 3 songs of this kind of album but every song is something new, a surprise, if you want. From having coir singing a prayer in Carolean's Prayer and the 153bpm double kick drums of Lion From the North to the flowing guitar riffs of Gott Mit Uns and the powerful and intimidating lyrics of Carolus Rex.
I gotta say their live show is phenomenal!! I'll just say that. As for the pyro... check out any song of them from Wacken 2015... they have a tank drum riser!!! (Yes with pyro shooting out of it)
Sabaton shows are amazing, Joakim the singer moves all the time. They are fantastic live. If you never seen them live TRY TO DO THAT you will never get dissapointed 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I've seen them live four times now. Always a full on energetic performance regardless of the crowd size. They just love performing. Their interaction with the crowd is always great. Lots of humor. The smallest show I saw them at was in Charlotte. Perhaps 150? 200? people. They didn't back down and even came out to hang with us after the show. I have a great group photo taken with them. Very humble guys. Definitely get to a show whenever the current craziness ends. Fun fact: At their ProgPower USA performance, Joakim split his pants during the show and performed the rest of the show with Duck Tape around his crotch.
Awesome Reaction as Always 🤘🤘🤘🤘 I HOPE YOU REACT TO PRIMO VICTORIA!!! NOT THE OFFICIAL VIDEO.... REACT TO THE ONE A FAN MADE WITH SHOT'S OF SAVING PRIVATE RYAN MOVIE... AND THEN PURPLE HEART, INTO THE FIRE, IN THE NAME OF GOD!!!
Sabaton "en livstid i krig - live gothenburg 2020" I was there on that show and the whole crowd started singing istead of Joakim. The song "en livstid i krig" is the Swedish version of there song a "liftime of war" tho both songs tell a diffrent story. "En livstid i krig" tells the story of a singel Swedish soldier going to war. "A liftime of war" tells a story about the 30 years war where soliders lived through a war there whole lives.
And here is a link to "En livstid i krig" from Gothenburg ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WBs3G1PvyfM.html I saw them in Stockholm. It was a great consert. "En livstid i krig" is a really powerful song.
If you like good metal singers, consider reacting to Hamferð - Vráin (Live at Tórshavn´s cathedral) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-axu2ju-HwTg.html In my opinion the best vocalist out there right now 🤘
Great vid😃React to 40:1 from the same consert! Or If you want to see an amazing emotional song check out " En livstid i krig (the great tour Gothenburg) - its awesome👍
RE: The Audio Feedback. Here's some observations from some guy on the internet....take them for what they are worth. The singer was running right in front of the side fill stacks on SL and SR from what I can see. Chances of getting vocal mic feedback are massive and rather predictable if that happens (you've likely seen a lot of this in person also). L'Acoustic ARCS with SB18 subs seen at 6:59 in the video to the singer's left on Stage Left (there will also be a mirrored stack on Stage Right). Feedback at 7:01 when he turns back onstage with the mic up and to his right (as he moves behind the guitar player) and then is exposing the capsule straight into the coverage of the horns on the ARCs. Instant feedback at that point. It drops off quickly as he moves farther onstage (inverse square law in acoustics at work there - it's a proximity thing). When he is downstage of the ARCs as shown at 6:59 he is just out of the High Frequency throw (coverage) of the cabinets - L'Acoustic ARCs are constant directivity boxes and they have very precise/tight/narrow polar pattern control in the high frequencies (the high frequency arc or coverage is the same as the angle of the wedge profile of the ARC cabinet when it is viewed from the top so it is pretty easy to tell with those specific cabinets where the HF coverage is going to be dropping off (or beginning) either with a single box or an array of 3 as shown in the vid). Hence those boxes are called ARCs for a good reason - they were designed with precise HF coverage and control in mind. Additionally, there is next to nothing a monitor engineer can do if you point a cardioid mic capsule (even slightly within the mic's pick-up pattern) towards those stacks if you are in close proximity to them. Same goes for traditional floor wedges. Also important to keep in mind that most festival monitor positions are positioned offstage left and given that normal condition it is seriously doubtful the engineer would have been able to see the singer when he was over there with the side fill stack in question blocking his (monitor engineer's) view of the singer. If the stacks were cranked....and there is 100% chance that's the case with a stage deck that wide and an audience that loud....you will always get feedback (directionally exposing a mic capsule to the horns either on purpose or accidentally) unless the engineer is actively muting your mic when you are right up close to them. Lesson to be learned = never point your vocal mic capsule at a wide open mains or side fill PA stack. Consider that my 2 cents thrown in from the intertubes and If I'm pointing out something you already know...that's cool too. Anyhoo....Great review Tank! I really enjoy hearing from someone with an industry perspective. Makes me feel a little more at home watching these reaction vids!...oh and the band and the song....pretty good....lol.
40:1 and Uprising from this show are both fire. Check out any video of the tour they just finished up earlier this year ('The Great Tour') You will notice new band members, Hannes van Dahl replacing Robban Back on drums and Tommy Johansson replacing Thobbe Englund on guitar. Have fun!
one of the best live bands out there. they are on a similiar level like Guadian, Maiden, Rammstein... I've never felt more energy from a band, from a crowd, just overall then at a Sabaton concert... you really gotta see them if you get the chance. btw, this live DVD is more than worth watching/purchasing! again, one of the best live dvds that atleast I have seen :)
a few of my favorite sabaton songs are "82nd all the way" "lifetime of war" "last stand" and "carolus rex". all good songs. and as i am a scandinavian myself, the fact they made a swedish version of the carolus rex album was a nice bonus to me. i actually prefer the swedish version of lifetime of war "livstid i krig" to the english version as i feel the lyrics flow better. but if you do not speak swedish i dont know if it is something that would detract from your enjoyment of the song.
I love the Amaranthe Cover of 82nd all the way, esp. the Live Video from the Sabaton Gig in Sweden. Joakim is taking a break and let Amaranthe playing the Song on stage.
40:1 live from Woodstock 2012 is a must.. Also En Livs tid i Krig live, the swedish version.. And if you like pyro most live performans from Rammstein, but most important Engel, Du Hast and Mein Tell. It helps that the frontman Till Lindemann is a qualified pyrotechnician.
I had the privilege to see Sabaton live in Edmonton last year during their Great War Tour. The power and energy, even in such a small venue, was Insane!
Angels calling, 7 pillars of wisdom, fields of verdun, 82nd all the way, great war, winged hussars, Sparta. That's just a few off the top my head, get into them you will not be disappointed I wasn't, and being a veteran, listening to them tell the tales from war history no judgement or bias is brilliant.
I was very blessed to see them live in a comparatively small venue (a decade ago... my how time flies) and Yes Joakim runs/ cannonballs around like that all show.. incredible band.. hope you keep checking them out.. and hope you get to see them live!
Sabaton is pretty much my number one favourite band overall, seen them live 9 times and counting, first two times at a small local rockbar where the band could barely fit on stage, and they still tore the roof of the place!
Sabaton have put up (almost) all of their setlist from their current tour "The Great Tour" as live-videos on their YT-Account, filmed down from the Stage. Recommendations in no particular order of greatness: To Hell and Back 82nd all the way ft. Amaranthe Swedish Pagans Primo Victoria Carolus Rex Subbed now to see more of that stuff.
I have seen them live twice - once as opening act for Iron Maiden in Gothenburg and once when I worked security at the Gates of Metal festival. They are absolutely wild. When I worked security, I was standing next to one of the speaker arrays and suddenly, I had Joakim's boot bang down next to my head.
they had very little pyro on that festival/tour compared to what they do bring on tours today. today they even bring their own drum riser in the shape of a model tank. latest tour to support their "the great war" album, they brought barbed wires, wide stairs for their choir to stand on and LOTS of pyro (both flames and fireworks)
I've gotten to see Sabaton live once and it was absolutely awesome. Small venue so nothing too crazy happening on stage, but they absolutely had the same energy as if they were playing for a huge crowd. They opened for Nightwish and it's the only time I've gone to a show and one of the opening acts was just as incredible as the headliner.
Should also take note that both guitarists in this music video are the original guitarist from the band. Chris Rörland didn’t join the band till 2013 ish. And the behemoth of a man Tommy Johansson was 2017 - 2018. I’m glad Joakim didn’t fold the band when everyone left in 2013
I love me some Sabaton, got to see them live last year when they were touring with Hammerfall and they both blew the house down. Glad to see another person who started RU-vid during the pandemic having fun with it and your channel doing well. We'll get to see these amazing shows soon enough, just gotta be patient! If you haven't checked them out before then check out beast in black. Maybe their song "Berserker" or "Blind and frozen"

Fields of Verdun, Gott mit uns, No Bullets Fly...there are a lot of great Songs. I was to their show in January just before Corona and it was a blast. They're funny guys, too. And with every song you get another history lesson. And Tank, that was another great reaction 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Recomendation: 40:1, Attack of the Dead Men, Winged Hussars, Sparta, Art of War, Coat of Arms, Shadows, Panzerkampf, ... Hell, almost every one of their songs is awesome!!!
Joagim is a nightmare for soundguys LOL.... The current drummer Hannes van Dahl is a Yamaha Oak custom player exclucifly. Also see the History Chanel of sabaton for more background
Red Baron was great song and story... Sabaton should also make a song about the "Black Devil", Erich Hartmann, the most successful fighter ace in the history of aerial warfare. Funny fact, after WW2 Hartmann joined the West German Air Force and his unit there named after the Red Baron: "Richthofen"
You should react to Great War - Live Great Tour Or Uprising - Live Great Tour Also 40-1 Live Wacken 2019 Also Karolinens Bön Live (look up Caroleans Prayer Live) I reccomend Primo Victoria - Live Great Tour too Then also: The Beast (Twisted Sister cover by Sabaton), Metal Machine, Metal Crüe, Metal Ripper, Night Witches - Live Great Tour, The Lost Battalion - Live Great Tour Stuttgard, Winged Hussars - Live, Attack of The Dead Men - Live Great Tour Wembley, Angels Calling - Live Great Tour, Live or Die - Apocalyptica, Carolus Rex - Live Great Tour, Lejonat Fråm Nörden - Live Great Tour, En Livstid i Krig - Live Great Tour, Lifetime of War, Rorkes Drift. The Last Battle, Attero Dominatus, Hearts of Iron, Resist and Bite - Live Great Tour Antwerpen, The Final Solution - Live acoustic Amsterdam, In the Name of God - Live Grasspop, Rise of Evil, Seven Pillars of Wisdom - Live Great Tour Amsterdam, Midway, To Hell and Back - Live Great Tour
Some years ago i was at the summer breeze festival and Sabaton was one of the many headliners. The energy and the crowd control of Joakim Brodén is just amazing. Between the songs he talked with the crowd and you quickly noticed that the whole band has a lot of fun. I don't how this developed but the crowd shouted almost after every song " noch ein Bier" which means in english "one more beer" and he the sanger had to drink a lot of beer cans in one go. It was great show \m/ Greetings from Germany
he did a collab song with babymetal on their most recent album. The song is called "Oh! majinai" Also can you check out the melodic deathmetal band "insomnium" if you haven't heard of them before.
I first heard these guys when I saw Nightwish live. They damn near stole the show and I absolutely love Nightwish! The energy was just off the charts. Fun fact: Their drummer is married to Floor.
Great reaction! You want pyro!?😊 Check out Sabaton's "Lion from the North" (official music video) It's about a badass Swedish king. The footage in the video is from different shows of the European tour 2019/2020 feat. Apocalyptica (Elize Ryd from Amaranthe shows up for a sec.😊) The song is the studio version. Also check out Sabaton's "Devil dogs" (official music video). It's about the U.S. Marines in WW1. The footage is from the North American tour last year and the song is the studio version. If you want more live stuff, check out "Red Baron" (live from Berlin, 2020), "Night witches" (live from Leipzig, 2020), "Carolus Rex" (live from Stockholm, 2020. It's the Swedish version, there is an English version, a lyric video that is) and "En livstid i krig" (= A Lifetime of war". Live from Gothenburg, 2020, in Swedish. The crowd takes over the first part of the song! Goosebumps guaranteed!😊).
I see a pattern. Nightwish... Floor Jansen. Wintersun - Kai Hatho - Nightwish... Floor Jansen. Epica - Mark Jansen - After Forever... Floor Jansen, Sabaton - Hannes van Dahl... Floor Jansen. Just kidding, Great reaction again, I enjoy the roadie stuff explanations. This Sabaton gig is much better than the previous one. I think metal music just isn't made for 'arty' video clips. Should always be live. (Btw, you might find Nightwish Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean interesting to react to. Marko singing - fast pace)
Definitely need to check out 40 : 1 and Uprising from the same show. Carolus Rex and Last Stand are my personal favorites, but The Lost Battalion has an amazing sound effect if you listen to it check out the live version followed by the music video. I bet you'll pick up on it. They have a second channel dedicated to telling the history behind their songs its called Sabaton History.
THE HAIR IS DOWN! I REPEAT THE HAIR IS DOWN! I got to see them LIVE in St Petersburg, FL last year. It was INSANE!!!!The band came through the crowd while we were waiting to go in. Joakim himself said that we were "F###### NUTS!" (In a good way!)Dam right we are!
Good reaction video!! Great job! Other songs by Sabaton I recommend 8nd all the way and Carolus rex If you want to try other Swedish bands I recommend Opeth Ghost Avatar In Flames
All of the songs listen below is fantastic, tho i love our history and i'm a huge patriot, my contrabution to this is "Carolous Rex", it's about back in the days egen Sweden was 1/2 europe, Carl the XIV, became king of Sweden att 15 yrs of age the year was 1697. He's soldiers ( the caroleans) was hardcore mfkers. Damn! The whole album "Carolous Rex" is fantastic. With love from Sweden!/ Over and out!
this whole show is killer. but you will love their new live stuff. planes, tanks and a whole trench setup on stage with LOTS of pyro. Check out the Great Tour videos on their channel of Red Baron and En Livstied I Krieg. Other great videos are Fields of Verdun, 7 Pillars of wisdom and Attack of the dead men to name just a few
