I agree viewership wise it’s more enjoyable seeing different interview styles, but we’re talking about artists specifically black ones in hip hop getting to certain levels and gaining senses of entitlement, and don’t go to black platforms. But also it’s ironic to ask the interviewers to do more when these artists just copy paste their music formula.

I feel like these interviews just serve a different purpose nowadays. Even then it varies depending on the size of the artist and their most recent album/single. If you're there to purely promote an album and the interviewer is aware of that/agreed to facilitate a convo exclusively about said album then I see no reason to dip unless they don't follow thru. Otherwise just don't take any interviews you don't feel like doing lmao.

Interviews used to be so enjoyable, but also the new era came in and got straight hate, people have a total different platform to talk about all this dumb stuff. They go on IG live and talk about their top people. Last person I really went and watched all their interviews was Kerwin. Cause at least you can tell he is a real fan usually.
Most people who listen to long-form podcast conversations are not the same demo as a EST Gee fan. It just wasn’t a good fit. He’s not good at talking, that’s it. The difference is, Drake could talk with anybody, he just chooses where he wants because his brand is so big.
