Thank you for this short and instructive video. Very recently found out I have a labrum tear. I’m physically fit and have been doing physical therapy once a week for 6 months. I was just referred to an orthopedic surgeon. I hope to find relief soon, permanently fixing the problem. Being in pain every day is so hard :(

I appreciate the explanation about how fluid leaking causes pressure to increase in the hip causing pain.

What i would like to know is: is this commonly misdiagnosed? I was hospitalised with elevated leg bedrest with 'fluid on the groin'. All that was done was an ultrasound i believe. Years later and way to much mental and physical effort and both me and my chiropractor believe hip dysplasia is likely the cause of all my issues. If this turns out to be the case, on top of years of trying to get any kind of help with my ankle and gait issues then i could have had it diagnosed very easily if my doctors hadnt half arsed it. I believe its quite likely this is the case as even though i was like 13, nobody answered my perfectly reasonable questions, took note of any of the stuff i mentioned that is a clear identifier i may have hip socket issues and evwn at 13 i asked why i didnt get an xray which they explained away by we found a diagnosis and we have no desire to look into why that issue occured.

I'm in desperate need of an experienced doctor who specializes in this! I've been in constant pain for 9 years and love to exercise. I have been to chiropractors, PT, dry needling, and an orthopedic who did a back MRI and not a hip. (I know back issues can cause hip pain, but I don't know why my hip was never looked at with an MRI) I'm so frustrated and need help from someone who knows how to diagnose and treat me.

Been 22 years for me disabled since 22 MRI shows a large hip tear but no dr will do surgery. And they all say a tear would not disable a person yet the MRI shows nothing else. My left side of pelvis also pops 100 times a day, hip and groin have a swollen painful lump and I can barely walk. I’m so desperate to be normal I’m thinking of leaving to Canada for surgery.

Omg I have chronic lower back pain and I just switched spine surgeons and I demanded a hip, and pelvis mri and now I am finally getting answer to why my pain is so bad after I broke my back. I have hip issues, pelvis issues, torn 3 tendons in the butt and hip too. You need to get a hip mri and pelvis mri.

@@umit777. good news, I am better! Not 💯 but significantly better to where I can be more active and not be severe constant pain. A lot of my issue is at the front of my pelvis and even deep core. Never thought this was even an issue until I saw something on RU-vid about the Psoas muscle and a device that released the muscle. Using it in multiple places. I would highly recommend this inexpensive tool before the long frustrating road of mri and doctors. Hope it helps someone else…

Could I please have this doctors name as I am positive this is my issue and I only want a well experienced doctor! I have been to another orthopedic doctor who wants to do a complete replacement and I don't want to and don't believe it is necessary, if I could speak with this doctor to explain it to him what happened, it was just a simple slip on ice and it happened, I didn't even fall to the ground, immediately felt discomfort and it persistent for 2 months and I went to the doctor and immediately wanted to do complete replacement! I am so discouraged and need professional!

My MRI I just received said there's a large tear, but my symptoms are not like in the videos or research I've done so far. Mine hurts a lot more if I straighten or put pressure on it. I can twist my leg inwards and outwards with minimal pain. I can't sit, stand, walk, lay down, or sleep too long. I also have no sharp pains in my groin. I lose feeling in my leg or it hurts a lot and feels like tv static. But i also have a herniated L4-L5. So I'm not sure if sciatica is playing into this as well.

Doesn't the tear and the location of pain indicate where the tears are exactly? I feel more relief with my knee closer to my body rather than with my leg laid straight. I just had an NP and a PA, in their 20's and early 30's tell me that they think it's just muscle pain I'm talking about because they said my symptoms don't match what I claim are on my images! I'm pissed off about it!! They didn't get my MRI with contrast results and so do not believe me, and they were my *second* opinion, too!!! They're just kids and fresh out of school! The doc himself is only 3 years practicing, probably counting his residency as that actually, and he wouldn't even bother to come in and visit with me or go over my results.

Thats were you have to put your foot down. Say if what im describing and my imaging supposidly dont match up, maybe your diagnosis is wrong or perhapse im gere because i enjoy lying about an issue that is very commonly misdiagnosed or totally undiagnosed. Either im 'lying' and i just love wasting my time and being patronised or im in pain and want the issue causing pain to go away and therefore why in the hell would i lie about anything making the diagnosis harder to get? I finally got to that point after a doctor did a hand exam of my ankle for 2 mins said it seemed fine after my years of previous complaints and tones of related or the exact same appointments. I believe in the end i was extremely pissed off and said something along the lines of "well, whilst its hard not just go along with you 2 minute diagnosis, ive been here many times for this issue getting palmed off every time, just send me for imaging" Which i still got the response of some shit like it seems unnecessary, we can send you to a physio and have you tried orthotics. I said something along the lines of "if what you did makes you a qualified doctor then anyone who gives a tv a good wack to stop it flickering is an electrician, now kindly fulfil your role as a glorified secretary and send me to the competent people for imaging or i will just find someone else to." Hed did refer me btw, probably just to get rid of me but it really does seem like you only get somewhere with most GP's if you have a decent idea of the issue yourself and you force them to spend the whopping 5 mins writting a referal.

Typical, in my experience physios are the most incompetent pain management practitioners alive. Its not entirely their fault as idiot doctors refer any non obvious pain to them over and over again but theyl happily take your custom and money. Physios are great for rehabilitation or people with no actual medical issues causing the pain but the fact they are the first response to people with pain is insane as most of the time the therapy plans they give you will actually exaserbate the issue and they just give the same routines to everyone with the same type of anatomical complaint despite the 50 different things that can cause that complaint. Physios are pe teachers with stretching routines they print off that someone else created and they just downloaded a document. I feel bad for osteopaths for getting lumped in with those actual monkeys.
