Yeah, she also doesn't look relaxed while playing which is actually kind of amazing to me. Playing tense makes it so much more challenging playing for that period of time. I wonder if she is actually playing relaxed with her hands and arms but her facial expressions and legs are just tense.
@@crozzxj8556 hiromi performing is the most incredible thing, this planet offers these days. 11 years ago i sat in a concert in the front row. the moment of my life. and she still innovating and rising. wake up and dream, blackbird, ... all these beauties grow in between touring around the world.
Jawdropping. Thank goodness they managed to capture it on film. Off the charts indeed. Quite possibly the greatest performance I have seen by any band every.
@@matthiasmax2849 i perfectly understand. i wasn't criticizing your comment. i was criticizing the guy who had the need to write 'in your opinion'. which is stating the obvious and therefore dumb
@@matthiasmax2849 what do you mean? Hahaha i think You don't grasp the music, beside that, what do you think the crowd should be doing? Dancing like in a pop concert?
I love this woman, the expression of not only her playing, but her face and body gestures show the love she has for her craft. If you can't feel what she's laying down then you're dead.
I love Hiromi's virtuoso Jazz fusion. Masterful skill. One of the best parts about the band, besides their music, is their band composition. It's like the beginning of a good joke. A big black guy bass player, a tiny Asian woman pianist, and a skinny white guy drummer with long hair and a beard, walk into a bar........
i disagree. sees you are not a musician. musician schools are so international. i love it to see this blend, cause its hiromi her choice, and i can see so much connection from anthony towards hiromi and back and forth. they are the best duo. the drummer, is discussable, the jazz one i think i prefer that one a bit more personally, but im not sure, i think so, the one with the bald head, idk the name atm but for me as a classical pianist, and a metal/symphonic/progressive [idm also] appreciater, i can imagine, hiromi kind of liking the sound of this progressive metalish drumming, but im not so sure about it. i like hiromi so much and anthony i appreciate the tenderness i think that person has got. and im glad its a brown one, thats second actually, cause it breaks the stereotypes. HAIL HIROMI, such a joyful personality
I came here to look for more of her stuff after seeing her perform at the Blue Note in Nyc last week. I'm hooked! This gal is a jazz genius, and I intend to listen to a lot more of her music, and see her live again. This performance to me isn't just three musicians making it up as they go along in an improv jam session as is so common in some venues. The hard work they put in is evident in the way this piece was written, rehearsed, and performed - even beyond the obvious technical skills displayed. This is one fine piece of jazz, and a joy to watch and listen. Thank you for posting.
Agreed! Kind of strange that some viewers seem to have a problem with him, claiming he´s beeing too loud or not subtle enough or whatever. I think Simon fits absolutely perfect into this trio, and the fact that Hironi already played with him on former tours (must have been 2010 and/or 2011) prooves that she also really loves Simons drumming.
BAZ INGA Fact. Philips does more in a few meters than Peart’s entire career. It’s plainly obvious to listeners who know percussion, know music, are not deaf. Don’t get me wrong, Peart’s technically the best in the rock world, but it’d be a cold day in hell if Peart could play on this level. So obvious.
@@youmothershouldknow4905 music is no competition. Everyone has his own vocabulary and creative universe in his imagination. There is no "better" or "best" in art. Music is a language and everyone has his own dialect. There are many interviews from legendary musicians where they talk about their greatest influences. It's surprisingly stunning what heroes some of them have.
isnt it amazing we are HERE to witness such beauty. a polished, refined, raw prism emitting the beauty of life through waves rippling through space. feel so much
A touch of Jamaican Ska Music 👌🏿👌🏿 Incredible Musicianship 👌🏿 Anthony Jackson is The Electric Bass G.O.A.T 👏🏿 This trio needs to be studied by all Musicians, they're that good. Greetings from Uganda 🇺🇬👊🏿🖤
Gosh. The Drama and musical Power behind this is.. 🔥🔥🔥 Just speechless! Watched this at least ten times, no joke. Absolute pure Energy in this, fantastic ❤️❤️❤️ greets from Switzerland 🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭
I keep coming back to this one, amazing! It's so different with Simon Phillips powerful playing in a trio and Hiromi Uehara + Anthony Jackon killing it as usual......I like the ever so slightly out of tune piano btw adds to the magic
I was there, not knowing who she is. I stayed until the end and became a fan right after. It was such a sunny day and the weather was very hot since the performance was right after noon.
I just saw Hiromi and the Trio Project for the first time. My mind is no more... because it was blown away! Hiromi May be the best pianist and performer alive! Bass player and the drummer are... of course, equally mind blowing! I’m a fan now.
I'm not even a fan of jazz but for some reason this is absolutely hypnotic, the way she smacks the keys with the feverish pulse of a bongo taps into my reptile brain like nothing I've heard before! This is true music right here, the exulting soul unleashed in sound!
I wish I could see this lady in concert. Giant Screen with her face on it. Her expressions are priceless. I just love it. My wife doesn't get it... AT ALL!
There is this movie "The Legend of 1900" and I kept thinking of how fast Hiromi's hands were moving and it reminded me of that scene where the two pianists duel, but this is real life. So incredible!
Every time I watch this and I just discovered this in 2022 I have to listen to it again and again and again and again and it just keeps getting clearer and clear what amazing thing this is
Hiromi....I met you more than ten years ago at the Bel Luna Jazz Club in BCN, you signed an album for me. 🤤🤫🥰I had never before attended a concert so exquisite, so cerebral, so exclusive, so creative, strange, of the highest level...as you can see, it did not leave me indifferent. You are so unique and funny!! Thanks for your Art....with all my admiration from Barcelona.
@@IanNMejia lol maybe they like wooten's playing better, that's why? 'unbeatable on his craft'. you seem to be confusing music with some sort of martial arts or sth...
I’m embarrassed that I’ve only just discovered Hiromi. I was gobbling up classic and new Jeff Beck, and she showed up in the side bar. Once again, it’s not who I knew, but the company I was keeping.
Wauw, keep coming back to this spectacular performance! Makes me cry and makes me laugh… The joy and energy is inspirational… Love Hiromi! Listening to her playing (and the rest, for that matter) and seeing her perform… marvelous! ❤️
All of them are masters at their instruments. I really enjoy the way Anthony Jackson switches up his right hand between thumb pick, plectrum, and finger style just using everything and really playing his instrument.
