I would guess it's meant to simulate someone jumping in front of the net to train you to wait to take your shot until after they are falling and before they can jump again.

You don’t need a quicker shot first off secondly how does putting spikes in your hoop help with that if anything it’s helping your mental part of the (practice) this doesn’t get you ready for a game tho not even a little bit hense why it’s a washed up athlete doin the practice
@@topnotch3232 probably is, although, we used to have something similar to this back in the day and it helped with being able to make clutch shots, or buzzer beaters, or knowing how to release fast enough in clutch situations
I’ve been wracking my brain to fully understand and comprehend why he thought this would be necessary. Seems like a good way to waste a perfectly good basketball
@@chicagoblackhawks9840 doesn’t help shot selection without a defender, shot selection is all about how someone is guarding you… bc you can take a good shot and still miss . This has nothing to do with shot selection
