Steve isn't a hobby racer. He's a racers racer! Matt Smith is arrogant person born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Steve is down to earth person had a chance to meet him at Englishtown many years ago and see behind ropes of his pit.
He did a couple years ago it only took him 28 years too do it because all the top guys broke all weekend and he leases his motor from byran hines each race.
To the few folks who thumbs down this video, I feel sorry for you that your life sucks so much that after watching this great content you still just had to leave a negative response. GOD bless you.
I remember way back when Steve had his shop in southern CA area in the SF valley.......glad to see he is still active in racing! Ride it like ya stole it!
Steve Myers WOW what a stunning entrance to your business, it is amazing to see your history displayed on entering. You would not believe how humble he is. Love got into bike racing for the girls, probably knows better now that why he stuck with the bikes🏁🏁🏁😂😂😂😂
Jack, as usual another excellent video with one of best supporters of the sport of motorcycle drag racing. I met Steve back in the day of IDBA, ProStar when he was fairly new in the sport of should I say of semi to pro racing. he always had time to talk
The only other guy in my memory that is as cool in pro stock motorcycle is now top fuel driver, Antron Brown. Super approachable and just the coolest dude.
You know the guy who directed the James Bond movies, Albert H Broccoli. Someone in his family invented Broccoli by binding the vegetable DNA of plants Cabbage and Cauliflower.. True story ;)
Iovine racing went from shorts a d tee shirts to uniforms second race in th I D B A racing we recieved award sunshine nationals. Best appearing crew.Back when All the greats Steve mentioned
Sponsorship ???? I am sure many think that everything paid for by a Sponsor is great. The Not so great part is the amount of time an effort required to get a Decent Sponsor. Decent meaning ? Someone who will pay most of your bills so you can go racing. The downside to Sponsorship most don't think about is the amount of time it takes to get a Good Sponsor plus Keep that Sponsor. Serious Sponsor money usually means serious hours of input to work with the Sponsor. Some require you to be at certain events for them to gain maximum exposure. Which also means you Need to be prepared to be there like or Not ???? Even IF that means travelling all night to get there and set up. Somewhere in the middle of All this you need to find time to actually race. Personal life is put on hold and other sacrifices need to be made also. But without Sponsors you run a very lean racing session. The other thing that can happen is ? A Sponsor can simply decide they don't want to work with you anymore ???? In some cases you might have multiple Sponsors which require you to do different things for them just to get and keep their Sponsorship. Not as easy as it might seem. But it's Always like that ? Things always look much better from outside looking in ??
Well I know one guy in Fl. that affords prodrag racing by okie doking custumers into 107" S&S build and only flywheels and gear drive cams are S&S....thief and liar
