I wrote His'tree a long time ago and it won a poetry contest. It was the product of having visited lovely Vancouver Island. Driving up the coast with my long-time friends Pete and Paulette, I witnessed the devastation of entire mountain scapes--remnants of the logging industry. Also, following that visit, I transformed His'tree into music and song.
Recently, I participated in an Ajax SNAP Community Forum on Climate Change & Resiliency, and one of the table talks included the maintenance and preservation of mature trees.
So, inspired by the plenary sessions, I have once again transformed His'tree by committing it to video. It's just as relevant today, as we struggle with climate change and share ideas, ways and means, to preserve our beloved trees and green space. The photography in this video, for the most part, portrays that which my own community landscapes have offered up to me on my routine walks.
