My best friend and I were helping my dad's friend move like 15 years ago and he 'paid' us by ordering KFC and we ate and he hooked up tv and put on a dvd or something of a concert of theirs and they were doing With or Without and Bono pulled a girl up on stage and they just laid down next to each on stage while he sang and it made me fall in love with the song so much and it's still my fav of theirs to this day)
U2 is one of my favorite bands. I prefer their older stuff like New Year's Day, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Pride (In the Name of Love) but my Favorite is All I Want is You. Love that one!
Yes can I hit the like button a 1000 times to get the most. I prefer U2 when they were more political and had an opinion. Love all i want is you. But Pride is my favourite.
You say you'll give me diamonds and ring of gold your story to remain untold but all the promises we made from the cradle to the grave when all i want is you 😊
Totally agree old songs were good but the 90s songs were their ultimate peak which has failed to be repeated there are occasional songs of joy but they sound too much like 80s simple minds now.
u2 played once great songs... later only rubbish.. under a blood red sky was for example one of the best live lps ever (1983)... but latest since 1990 only mainstream sht...
@@seelenwinter6662 yes and no, while the quality started to dip during the 90s, there’s still plenty of great songs in there. I’d argue the real decline started on “How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb”, which was really only saved by one standout classic track.
@@shmick6079 Miracle Drug from that album was also lovely, but yeah I wouldn't put it among their best. I fully believe Every Breaking Wave from Songs of Innocence (ESPECIALLY the stripped version), and and Ordinary Love from the Mandela movie soundtrack are career GREATS though!
Anything from the Joshua Tree album is great. I wore the friggin grooves off that album. However I think you check out "Bad" from the Unforgettable Fire album. It's an amazing track.
I totally second this, but would recommend the live version off "Wide Awake In America." It's my favorite - hearing that version is like hearing live for me, and feeling all of that energy. :)
My brother absolutely loved U2, he sadly passed away in July... we were very close and sometimes being so close leads to intense emotions.. we fought but always made up , but I was sick n he reached out n I rejected it.. I'll never forgive myself as months later he had a stroke... I still remember him in the hospital grabbing my arm begging for help... my heart shattered... ok I know I'm blabbing but please take this as a moment to love your family n those dearest... not a lecture but try... I never knew I'd lose my buddy my best friend my brother so quickly... thus was his favourite song n we played it at his funeral... lots of love to you all n please , enjoy n value what you have xxx
Ok... so now.. you need to go look up the "one" cover by Chris Cornell.(Dark grey tshirt video) Chris sings the lyrics to Metallica's One, by the melody of U2's One. Trust me on this... chills chills chills, powerful powerful powerful. Makes me tear up everytime i hear it. Also, ive been a U2 fan since Joshua Tree was released. My older sister got me listening to them when i was a teenager. Im 42 now. Alex, if you are looking for a good wedding song, (Congrats btw) U2's "All I Want is You" off the Rattle and Hum album is a primo choice. Other good U2 songs: (too many) Bad (studio or Live Aid version) So Cruel (emotional song & lyrics) Numb (Edge actually sings that song and its weird, but a cool weird)
My favorite part is when he reaches the lyric "love is a temple" and so on. That's when I'm already on Cloud Nine. And yeah, EVERY. FUCKING. TIME. For years and years now.
Their songs from the 80's are outstanding, but you should check Achtung Baby as well, the album containing One. The world tour, ZooTv, was something out of this world and is still considered one of the most influencial in the history of rock
Yeah man, saw the Zoo tv show in Leeds’s Roundhay park. As far as big rock shows with all the bells and whistles, that one set standards which are still templates today.
Oh yeah, I don’t think Elevation gets enough recognition. Another one is Staring at the Sun because people like to act like The “Pop” record never happened. 🤣
The sweetest thing.. Desire.. Pride (in the name of love).. Hold me,thrill me, kiss me,kill me.. Staring at the sun, who's gonna ride your wild horses,i still haven't found what I'm looking for.. Where the streets have no name..
U2 is in my top five when it comes to music. Listen to Electrical Storm (William Orbit Mix), another great 90's U2 classic. They are as good as the Beatles in my opinion.
My favorite U2 song of all time. But, shhh...I think the true meaning is something people should discover for themselves LOL. My favorite version (when not seeing it live in the moment) is hands down the ZooTV in Sydney concert. That version goes beyond next level for me.
Highly recommend listening to "Bad" by U2 its such a powerful song. Also "Sunday bloody sunday", "Pride", and "Where the streets have no name" are all amazing songs
Being a 40 year fan of U2, it is so much fun to see such a happy, genuine, passionate young guy show some love for the greatest rock band AND rock crooner of all time~ There is a live version of One where Bono includes some love for his wife Ali as the band was wrapping up (Ith ink the 360 tour or earlier) and instead of Hallelujah, he screams "Ali-lujah, I'm coming home Ali, Ali-lujah, I am coming home!" Echoing others, All I Want Is You, Streets, but also obscure tunes like Drowning Man, Tomorrow or even Miss Sarajevo (you might enjoy Pavarotti).
Great reaction to one of my favourite U2 songs. This song actually saved the band as they had hit several dead ends whilst recording Achtung Baby. The album was a big change in style and direction and was described by the band as "four men chopping down The Joshua Tree", which was the name of their biggest album. Apparently The Edge was just in the studio playing the chords and Bono started singing words to fit in with the tune. They managed to get something going then both Adam and Larry came in and started to suss out their parts and played along. That gave them something to build on and a renewed hope that they make an album. Bono's vocals and lyrics on this sing were spot on. The one line that sticks out for me is "We get to carry each other" as it sounds more of a privilege than a chore.
Yeah, that’s THE iconic live performance of this amazing, amazing song. What happened during the Live Aid (1985) performance of Bad was: 1. unplanned, and 2. changed the trajectory of the band itself. That performance catapulted then into global superstardom.
*U2 songs : "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" [From "Batman Forever"], "Staring At The Sun", "Vertigo", "Elevation (Tomb Raider Mix)+(Influx Remix)", "Wild Honey", "Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of", "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses?", "The Ground Beneath Her Feet", "Walk On", "Pride (In The Name Of Love)", "I Still Haven't Found What Im Looking For", "With Or Without You", "Where The Streets Have No Names", "Mysterious Ways"......just some recommendations.*
You're just scratching the surface of U2. So much good music! Songs with a similar vibe would be sometimes you can't make it on your own and with or without you
Paul David Hewson (born 10 May 1960), known by his stage name Bono, is an Irish singer, songwriter, philanthropist, activist, venture capitalist, businessman, and actor. He is best known as the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of rock band U2. He's just amazing. Check out U2 - Bad from Live Aid 1985.
Well, hot damn, three opportunities in one day to bring up my Patreon vs Non-Patreon viewer's comments/requests. I don't know exactly how it works, but I'm pretty sure that a regular viewing of a You Tube video is worth some kind of financial gain. I find it pretty disturbing that a request from TWO HUNDRED viewers means NOTHING to Alex, because (apparently) those TWO HUNDRED likes are from non Patreon viewers. I've let Alex know (numerous times) that there are TWO HUNDRED people who would like to see him react to "Break In" but he hasn't acknowledged those people yet. It can't POSSIBLY be that much of an effort to make a video reacting to that song, but he hasn't (for some unknown reason) decided to make a reaction to the song yet. So, how about it Alex, they aren't actively paying you for it, but there are a LOT of people who would like for you to react to "Break In" are their wants worth anything to you? Or not? 0__0
Woo!!! One of the first commenters... please react to: Ad Infinitum - Marching On Versailles All That Remains - The Thunder Rolls Coal Chamber - Loco Epica - Sacred & Wild Powerwolf - Nighttime Rebel Powerwolf - Resurrection by Erection
some u2 songs to consider... 1. so cruel 2. lemon 3. who's gonna ride your wild horses 4. trying to throw your arms around the world 5. until the end of the world
Holy crap, three in a row. Anyway: Hey Alex, you should react to RED again. They are independent since last year and sound heavier than ever on their latest album "Declaration". Check out the song "The Evening Hate". Also listen to STARSET - Trials official video and the epic reimagined version. They did a great job on that. EPIC is also the perfect word to describe the next band i'ld like to suggest: "All Good Things" Their Song "For The Glory" should be played at every major sports event! And last but not least another independent band, since RU-vid's been making a lot of problems: Our Last Night, a post-hardcore band with 1.9 Mil subscribers. They're making better covers than Leo Macchiaioli but i want to suggest their original song "Ivory Tower" which ends on a really nice breakdown. Gonna post this until it gets noticed
Oi Alex, you also should check “Ordinary Love”, “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and “Pride In The Name Of Love” by U2. These are masterpieces!
@@rashby69 That's telling him, bro. Although I've had three or four comments that have suggested that you would have a much better chance for your song (or me for my song) if you/I were a Patreon. To which I replied "W ell, that's just BS" LOL. 0__0. 👍
Do " One Tree Hill " it was written for one of his roadies that died in a motorcycle accident. He was a New Zealander and One Tree Hill is a famous volcanic peak in Auckland, NZ. It was named that because there was ( obviously ) one tree on it, but it got attacked and taken down, so now theres a monument up there. Very, very good song.
Alex, as a fellow Texan you should try Upon A Burning Body, they are a band from Texas. They have a song called Texas Bloody Money. It's metal about Texas pride.
Brian Eno Era U2 was my favorite era of U2, Albums with Brian Eno The Unforgettable Fire The Joshua Tree Achtung Baby Zooropa And some select songs after that album. "Miss Sarajevo" and "Moment of Surrender" is one that comes to mind.
How did I miss that you reacted to this?! This has always been one of my most favorite songs. I used to think if I was ever going to start singing karaoke, it would be my go to song.
they played the very first Live Aid concert back in the day, and you really need to react to "U2 - Bad (live at Live Aid)." it's one of their best performances ever.
Oh yeah and you also gotta check out (been commenting this for years) Institutionalized by Ice T's metal band Bodycount. Sick cover version with all new lyrics by Ice T
7:21 Edgar - - I think you meant to say "The Edge" - that is his stage name. Bono (lead), The Edge (guitar), Larry Mullen Jr. (drums), and Adam Clayton (bass)
You should react to Hevisaurus - 100. Its a program for kids and i wish i had that shit when i was small! this also explains why finish are bad ass at making metal! And when it comes to Power metal you should react to Theocracy - mirror of souls and Lost Horizon - highlander. And you should really check out the band; Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas.
You should definitely check out either Where The Streets Have No Name or God Part II Two amazing U2 songs - implying that there's one single U2 song that isn't amazing
Ya gotta check out some older more raw U2. You should listen to and/or react to Electric Co. from the live album Under a Blood Red Sky. It's about a friend of theirs who was subjected to electroshock therapy.
Was lucky enough to be at the Joshua tree anniversary tour in Barcelona. It was one of the best experiences of my life. it's an incredible album that's definitely worth a reaction
You should react to Von Raven - The moment you die Pagan's mind - God's Equation Serj Tankian - Harakiri System of a Down - Boom! Scars on Broadway - Chemicals Alestorm - The sunk'n Norwegian Audrey Horne - Redemption Blues Volbeat - Evelyn Brainstorm - Falling Spiral Down Requinox - Raiders of the Holy Island Nemesis- The War is On Sinsaenum - Splendor and Agony Satyricon - Black Crow on a Tombstone Amon Amarth - Cry of the Black Birds Okilly Dokilly - White Wine Spritzer Dreampilots - Comedown Disturbed - Darkness/ If I ever lose my faith in you Gorgoroth - Carving a giant
