I’ll be upfront, I’m not an Evanescence super fan but I will say this this is a song for the ages, beautifully constructed, haunting lyrics sung to absolute perfection and it’s also awesome to watch the live versions on RU-vid. It’s just a killer song played and sung to a point where it’s impossible to criticise and will forever be timeless.

The mid-2000s was such a great time for music, people don't give the past decade the credit it deserves. The 80s and 90s are legends but there is so much to treasure from the last decade. You have a lot of potential great content to watch! Amy's heart is coming through in both her voice and her lyrics. The band coming in at the end is icing on the cake. On the album "Fallen" there's 2 versions of this song, what we just heard and a pure piano instrumental. Awesome stuff, and FYI, everyone who listens to Amy has a musical crush on her... Her hubby is a lucky man.

Man my mother passed away when I was 20. She was my best friend. She was always there. And I cried ONCE during the last month when I was watching her being eaten from the inside by cancer. ONCE. I hate crying I almost never cry. But this song will bring a tear to my eyes. Her voice is enchanting.

This song is almost 20 years old now and came out when I was in my early 20's. It's a song that defiantly hits harder today. Back then, to me it was just a great song by an awesome singer, now it's a powerful emotional song. I can now relate to the lyrics, but not just towards a specific loss or relationship with someone, but towards my memories, my moments, and my mind. The older we get, the more the memories hurt, not just the sad and/or bad ones, like losing a loved ones, as I have lost both my parents over the last twelve years, but the good ones also, like having a wonderful childhood, first getting marriage, your children's births and them being young, these memories of life, moments of time, will never be as great as it once was, as certain moments that will never be experienced again like they were when we lived them. My memories, both happy and sad, are slowly killing me as I can't let go and depend on them so much.

This song was popular when my dad died in 2003. I was holding his hand when he died and then I'd hear it on the radio....and while I know it's about a different type of relationship, but it's so haunting and beautiful and about loss and it reminded me of my dad then . Hearing it today for the first time in years has made me cry again. I miss you dad.

Lithium for the dark and heavy melancholic atmosphere and Sweet Sacrifice for the aggression and the overall madness. Both songs have great vocals and amazing videos to accompany them.

Trivia Fact: This version of the song she hates because it was recorded in 30 minutes at her dad's work studio and was supposed to only be a demo. Her label refused to let her re record a "better" version like she wanted to and shoved it on the album. She later recorded it the way she wanted it to sound for her remake album.
