I have a collection of photographs taken between 1848-1849 during the Sikh Empire by John McCosh. Is anyone interested in seeing them? One is a photograph of Maharaja Duleep Singh when he was still an emperor of Lahore.
you are living with poor knowledge. Gandhi did not separate but Mountbatten did but just on grounds bcs he was called to do this task from England. So consider him just a server or a order follower. The false narrative is drawn out of misinformation and poor knowledge. The idea of religion itself is to separate, control, and brainwash a crowd. Hindu-Muslim riots have been prevalent in India ever since Muslims invaded India and so are across the world in all religions, assuming supremacy over each other. Gandhi just channeled and mobilized the silent majority who did not believe and did not have the courage for violence, creating masses of people protesting against the British, and putting pressure on them to leave. Not everyone can be revolutionary like Bhagat Singh who can sacrifice their life and revolutionaries alone couldn't have brought freedom without the masses participating in the resistance. It was an epic failure, criminal conspiracy, and negligence of the British and Mountbatten. They cannot be forgiven for this crime against humanity.
The moslems were concentrated west of Satluj River.The Sikhs were in substantial numbers in Mid Punjab. The Hindus were in the South Eastern Districts, currently Hariana and the Eastern Pahari regions Only the district of Ludhiana had Sikhs as the largest group at 42-44 %. But because of Maharajah Ranjit Singh's Empire, the Sikh role in Punjab, appears to have dominated.
Proof Maharaja Ranjit Singh Governed a nation of plurality, equality, mutual respect and egalitarianism -- of course until like all Empires it was looted and destroyed. It's not unique that the lines the Brits drew have created lasting conflict and chaos. C'est la vie

Sahib means hardcore islamic people. Read the meaning of Sahib before commenting. In reality there were photos and idols of Hindu Gods in Harimandir. All our Gurus in old pics wore tilak, famous photo of Sri Guru Govind Singh ji famous pic with in front of Ma Durga also removed. All Gurus had wedding in front of Vedic Agni. I do think sikhs are pure hindus. I suggest you to read Dasham Granth and poems by Guru Govind Singh Maharaj dedicated to devis.
Before advising others, bear in mind a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Attributing so-called dasam granth to Guru' Gobind Singh is the most absurd thing ever thought of. To start with read the book 'Hum Hindu Nahin' by Sikh scholar Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha. Now to prove what were Sikh Gurus, I qoute Guru Arjan Dev Maharaj from Guru Granth Sahib:' Iam neither a Hindu nor a Mohamedan; I neither read the Veda nor the Quran ...' so on and forth. Dasam Granth has been thrust on Sikhs to mislead Sikhs. Till 1708, only Guru Granth Sahib existed. Dasam granth made the first appearance under different name around 1794-96. As for your Hindu idols placed at Darbar Sahib complex, remember the British government had handed over the management of Darbar Sahib to Mahants (Hindus) who had placed those idols in the gurdwara premises to attract donations. So don't fiddle with facts and fool yourself. Please don't show a sense of ingratitude.

But how the valiant Sikhs calling themselves as lions, meekly ran away leaving everything to the Mlechas during partition? It only shows Sikhs who are a minority in Punjab. Muslims and Hindus made the majority... where are their photos and many other important cities like Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Gujrat Sialkot Ludhiana Jallandar Gurdaspur Hoshiarpur Gujranwala etc You missed 90%
Many thanks and very informative. Thanks to the British/western technology it is possible to document the historic conditions prevailing in Punjab and understand from what starting level Punjab and South Asia has been developing from, and where it is today. From a socio-politico-economic lens.
This is creating the wrong impression that most Punjabis were Sikh. The majority of Punjabis in that time and also today - are Muslim. And I’m not even Pakistani or Indian but I have studied the demographics.
Not a wrong impression . Whole punjab was culturally heavily influenced by sikhs and due to sikh empire . Don't say non sense when you are not from there.
