there is lot of palace fort temples in punjab to promote tourism industry....but punjab tourism never think on this ...tourism industry gives employment to millions .. travel agencies hotels taxi operators handicraft reastaurant...
Ravinder G, Still, It is closed. I am very eager to see this museum so that my children could imagine Punjab's history. Every Sunday I visit Ram Bagh with my family and my kids pluck the unripe mangoes around this. Big trees are standing beautifying it.
Great job, at least we have some thing like history of great maha raja Ranjeet Singh in Punjab, otherwise nothing in history books they teach us in school, thanks
Tremendous renovation done by Amritsar Punjab administration. We have recently renovated Baradari (summer house) and Samdhi of Maharaja Sher Singh (son of raja Ranjit Singh) at Kot Khawaja Saeed, Lahore.
My late father was born in Amritsar, loved his city of birth. Always talked fondly of Amritsar as he was resettled in Pakistan. I am just curious how far away and in what direction this palace is situated? Is 84 acres still intact or some had been appropriated for other purposes? Thanks.
It’s situated in the Ram Bagah (company Gardens) in Amritsar. There are some buildings constructed in the Precincts of Ram Bagah and archaeology. Survey of India is taking care of the place..
He was very cruel ....murder, rape and looting after capturing cities was a normal thing. Just read history of his conquests ...no mercy for old, women or children....

Maharaja Ranjit Singh is the icon of bravery, nationalism, strategist, son of mother India, a daring fighter. True loin of India. Bachhe chup ho jao, Ranjit Singh aa jayega... Ye khof tha Singh ka. He conquered Afghanistan and parts of Tibet.
The beautiful land of my parents and grand parents the great Punjab is full of history of brave people and rulers who protected our culture and languages. Then there are Sikh gurus who laid such strong foundations of the faith. Its a shame the history of India became polluted by only glorifying the mughal invaders and their religion. Time to turn the pages back for the young people to know the truth.

It was a Jatt rule and not Sikh of the clever Khatris. His name is Chaudhry Ranjit Sansi Jatt; No Singh in his name as Singh is the Surname of the Khalsas. But the clever Khatris introduced it among the foolish Jatts to demand tithe. I have produced a RU-vid video on this topic.
Sir, both are the different places but situated in the Precincts of (Ram Bagh) Company Bagh. Summer place was build during the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh where as Penorama was constructed few years ago.
This palace is bit modest & in a small compound, because maharaja.s rule was not for a long period. Otherwise compare it with Rastrapati Bhawan. So huge & in a 300 acre campus.

Why Indian history has no mention of maharaja ranjit singh ji. Our Indian history is totally captured by mughal's history due to Congress led by Gandhi family systematically ignoring history of India's own native heroes.

When I was a teen, I used to play badminton with my friends near this palace. The building was in bad condition. One day I found a window open, and I entered the Palace. I was a bit scared but roamed the entire court. One fantastic thing I saw was on the rooftop. There were two small rooms with paintings of Krishna on the wall and in another room there were more painting of sikh history which they didn't covered in the video. There is one more building nearby people say it has an indoor pool which you can also see from windows of the building.
Thankyou for penning down your memories with the Summer palace of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. I tried to cover the summer palace in the video and as you stated due to negligence the building was in dilapidated condition and the frescoes were vanished with the passage of time. The other building having indoor pool is still there and needs attention of the archaeology department of India.
