All of Judith McNaught’s historical books are amazing - my favorite is Once and Always. Also, I really love Julie Garwood’s The Bride and The Wedding - so good!
Well personally, your historicals content is my favorite so please keep it coming! Definitely adding all of these to my TBR, and I've got the Lorraine Heath book on hold at my library now
Please continue making historical romance contents. It is my favorite genre. I practically only read historicals and your suggestions are precious to me.
I watch your channel for the historical recommendations and usually skip the contemporaries. I'm surprised these are your least viewed videos. Great suggestions!
Please, please keep making historical romance content! It is hands down my favorite genre, and I feel like so many people in the romance/book community are sleeping on it (especially on BookTok). :( The Duke and the Lady in Red made me bawl my eyes out! It's easily one of the best books I've ever read. I loved all these recs, and I definitely need to read Beverley Jenkins.
Can't believe HR content does the worst on your channel -- It's my favorite baby! I started reading them because of you in 2020 and now it's my most read genre each month!
I love how down to earth you are, and positive and energetic, the way you say *cause he's the duke or stuff we historical romance fans are into...you would just be everyone's best friend♥️♥️♥️thanks for you videos♥️😂
I love historical romances! It saddens me that so many indie bookstores don't hold/sell mass-market historicals (at least not without special ordering them). Upon hearing how much you love historicals too, it was an instant subscribe for me 😀
Judith McNaught, Johanna Lindsey, Kathleen Woodiwiss, Jude Deveraux, Julie Garwood, Lisa Kleypas, Lavyrle Spencer. They're my kind of author and make the best books in my opinion.
I am new to romance and started trying out some historical. My favorite so far is Beyond Scandal and Desire by Lorraine Heath. I am so excited for all of her books. Your channel has really helped me figure out where to start with romance, btw :)
I love all of those stories as well. Lorraine Health, Eloisa James, and Amanda Quick are those authors that I just get the book instantly. I don't even read the blurb. Ravished is a classic story that everyone that likes historical romance should read at least once.
I love historical romances! I’ve been in the mood to read paranormal and historical romances this month. I’m reading The Duchess Hunt by Lorraine Heath right now and I am loving it!
Btw when it comes to historical romances Whitney my love by Judith McNaught is IT for me. I haven't read such a complete book. It's EVERYTHING a historical romance should be. With a fierce female lead and a Duke who wants to win her at any cost. Also storm and silence series by rob their, especially if you loved pride and prejudice. With a feminist female lead who works in office to a powerful man (who's not your regular hero). The story starts when lily dresses as a man to cast vote and if offered a job by businesses tycoon Rickard Ambrose. Also Julie Garwood historical romances are also another level. If you want to read more try almost Heaven, Westmoreland saga, something wonderful by Judith McNaught. And the bride, the secret by Julie Garwood. And Never seduce a Scot by Maya banks.
You are absolutely right about lorraine heath she likes deep stuff and this wonderful book made me tear up!!!!! You must read more by her. She is my absolute favorite historical romance author after lisa kleypas
I know this is a year late and maybe you won’t even see this but wanted to add to the others when they said that HR is my favorite too. In fact, that’s the only type of romance I read. So I’m always ready to watch any recommendations you give! I found Lorraine Heath this year thanks to you! So keep the HR videos coming!
Both Lorraine Heath and Amanda Quick are instant buys for me. I cannot get enough of them. I am going to try your other recs because obviously we have similar taste. Thank you for the recommendations.
This just proves that one man's trash is another man's treasure. I live for your historical romance recommendations, and religiously look for your goodreads reviews before jumping into an HR book! I have noticed your lack of reviews for Meredith Duran (particularly the Duke of Shadows, an absolute gem) and Sherry Thomas books though, two of my favorite angsty historical romance authors! Interestingly enough I also happened to read Ravished by Amanda Quick recently, as has everyone on the r/Romancebooks subreddit. Definitely a must read for every HR readers!
Loved loved loved Duke of Shadows ! I think it was recommended here , I loved the part in the second half where he pretends to be uninterested and cold towards her when she comes to see him , l bet I reread it twenty times so hilarious, and my lord he’s gorgeous . I haven’t read anything else by the author
Amanda Quick ALL her historicals.. Deception is one of my all-time faves. I call them Milky Way reads.. light and fluffy that don't fill you up (emotionally)...
Amanda Quick is amazing. The first I read of her was my aunt's copy of Mischief. I loved it the first time I read it. But you do need a fresh frame of mind for a re-read.
I recently read the first two book of the scandalous gentleman of st.james by Lorraine Heath and yesss I absolutely love those books. Can't wait to read the third book, that book is on the way to my home!
I read Ravished after you read it recently and WOW what an amazing book. It would've been easy to use miscommunication to cause conflict but they just trust each other!!! Interested in what you read by her next
Going through the same phase, probably because it’s almost Christmas. Judith McNaught and Lisa Kleypas are my personal favorites but I’m happy to find more recommendations 😊
I just started reading Emma V Leech's "rogues and gentlemen" series. Book #2 "The Earl's temptation" is AMAZING! I loved the first one but the 2nd goes beyond! Now I move on to the third!
@@sterlingshellyann love her writing so much! I bought all her older historical books in paperback and have lost track on how many times I’ve read them all! Favorites are The Bride, Saving Grace and Honour’s Splendour but like I said I love them all. Those are just the ones I’ve reread the most.
@@hadeija For me it’s 1. The Bride 2. The Prize 3. The wedding 4. The Secret 5. Honors Splendor 6. Ransom. I read all of her books but those will forever be in my rereads list.
The Rogue of Fifth avenue by Joanna Shupe Bringing down the Duke by Evie Dunmore And the Widow wore Scarlet by Adele Clee These are my favourite historical romance books.
Amanda Quick books are always a great read, I think I've read a couple (or a-lot) of books from everyone of these authors and enjoyed them. Below is a couple of HR series that I have enjoyed. The Viking Haadrad Series & Malory-Anderson Family Series by Johanna Lindsey Spindle Cove by Tessa Dare Smithe Smith Quartet by Julia Quinn The Aincourts by Candace Camp Lindsey Sands also has many Historical Romance series which are great The Highland Brides series is one of them. Pirate, Viking (and others ?) by Fabio. Virginia Henley is amazing. The Viking Series by Sandra Hill is a time travel series which is very good and The Brides of Karadok & Vawdrey Brothers by Alice Coldbreath is a great Fantasy Historical Romance. Karadok being the country where these medieval romances take place, love them.
I love the duchess war by Courtney Milan. Can you also recommend stories with Dukes that are virgins before the heroine? Like the duke in "the duchess war". Thank you ^^
I got a newsletter from Amazon informing me of Erica Ridley’s latest release coming late this month. The second book in her Wild Wynchesters family series, The Perks of Loving a Wallflower and now I want to start reading them. And more historical romances, so I will be checking out your older videos again. I haven’t read an historical romance in a while and the two you mentioned in July and in this video, I want to check out too. Thanks for the video!
I like kinda dark HR, like Sarah MacLean's, Bronwen Evans, Elizabeth Hoyt, Julie Anne Long and the calm ones by Mary Balogh, Julie Garwood, Christi Caldwell 📌
I have been an avid reader of historical romance books since the 1970's. If you haven't read Sweet Savage Love by Rosemary Rogers or The Flower and The Flame by Kathleen Woodiwiss, I would strongly suggest you read these. Both have a triology that leaves you breathless! Also check out Ashes In The Wind & Shanna. Again both by K. W. I've read these books so many times and they never fail me! I only wish these 2 wonderful writers would write again.
i'm on the same historical romance post-dark mafia kick! i recently read & enjoyed: my darling duke by stacy reid romancing the duke by tessa dare when a scot ties the knot by tessa dare the wallflower wager by tessa dare (lots of animals in this one, including a dog! and a hedgehog!)
I’m not sure if anyone remembers this book it’s historical Jess recommend it but I can’t remember idk if it’s the hero or the heroin has siblings and they all have like different talents and it’s like a found family trope something like that 🤷🏽♀️
Amanda Quick is a must read author, love her quirky heroines and has great one liners. Seduction Rendezvous Paid Companion Dangerous Deception Reckless Desire
Do you mean the trilogy by Loretta Chase? If so (or not). , I highly recommend all of her books. The humor in her stories is great! The Carsington Family and Scoundrel series are my favorites, maybe because I read them first, but the Noirot sisters’ stories have everything one could want in a well written and researched HR as well.
I like Julia London she writes interesting stories her historical romance she writes different stories rich ton and people who are at the at the bottom of society at the margin of society.
Watching this video was a mistake. I thought haha let's see how many of these I've read already 🥴 boy was I wrong, and now I'm down a rabbit hole. Historical romance is my life blood.
Hi this is Sara I just got a new kindle paperwhite and I was wondering if you could tell me how to transfer my books from my old kindle to my new kindle paperwhite?
Hi..love them ...i am searching for a book ..historical romance ..where hero is already married to another woman and fell in love with the heroine ..end his wife died so he can marry the heroine... Do you know this book?
I personally think the romance novels from the 80s and 90s were some of the best written. Not just in plot but overall grammar and word choice. Julia Quinn and a few other contemporary authors today are exceptions, but I've been finding more recent readings filled with fluff and lacking the wit and characterization development of previous authors. I highly recommend looking at Jude Deveraux (Montgomery series is fantastic!), Julie Garwood, Judith McNaught, Jill Barnett, and the earlier works of Johanna Lindsey. Amanda Quick is a good one as well - my favorite of her books was Seduction. Flowers from the Storm by Laura Kinsale is an excellent novel you should try out as well.
I love historical romance but regency just doesn’t do it for me. Lorraine Heath is the first historical romance I’ve ever read and her western romances are everything! I also like highlander romance.
You would love Rosemary Rogers! Her book Sweet Savage Love is actually a 3 book series! All bout Steve & Ginny. It came out in the 1970's. Another good writer is Kathleen Woodiwiss. She wrote The Flower and The Flame, which was the first historical romance I read. Great,Great read. She too has a trilogy from this wonderful book! You really should look up the writers of the 1970's. I'm sure you'll be surprised!
Thanks so much for this, I love historical romance, it takes me to a world of no worries however there is this historical romance novel that I read years ago, I have searched everywhere online and offline to no avail, I guess the heroine's name is Millicent though not sure, a scarred lord who saved her from an embarrassing situation at a party by pretending to be her fiance, they later fell in love but I need to read it over again and I can't seem to remember the name, I need help.
