If the Mayans see themselves more as Mayans than Mexicans, then their desire for independence would be greater. Also, many Hispanics don't identify as Native American because they forgot their roots due to globalization or whatever. But Britain did end it, deploying an entire fleet with the expressed purpose of hunting slave ships, forcing African monarchs to abandon the practice, and taking on loans to free slaves that wouldn't be paid off until 2015. Literally hundreds of years spent combatting slavery. Yeah, Britain caused a famine in India. It had nothing to do with merchants screwing over people they regarded as foreign heathens, nothing to do with the countries India would normally buy food from in times of shortage being invaded/conquered by Japan, and certainly nothing to do with the British government seeing Hitler as more of a priority. Britain just felt like causing a famine. Ask a single native tribe if Americans ever kept their word. If one single agreement was honoured beyond "You're gonna stay on this reservation in a state of economic stasis."

I know this shit all in good fun and stuff but native Americans were still in the bronze age and not all but most were hunter gathers. Outside of unique situations like the black death it would be much better to be in a "civilized" community than what most native Americans had.

From what I’ve read from the history savvy comments, the funny thing about how Disney showed the whole Virginia Company ordeal was that Disney’s depiction of John Ratcliffe was actually closer to the real John Smith, and the real Matoaka was closer to the animated Mulan in terms of personality.
not really... she litereally count as a princess while her husband a commoner btw between them was only around 9-10 years old difference and pokahontas already was 14-15 wheen marriaged! I love the assumption in this animation is that the fact that Pocahontas was like 10 at the time when they first met would of stopped John Smith from pursuing her whatsoever especially in those times. Also given that he wrote about having sexual relations with Pocahontas and other natives but just lied about them being older really doesn't paint John in that great a light.
