History of .hack//QUARANTINE | Part 4 FINAL

Yo Rad, just wanted to thank you for covering the .hack series. I feel like many people have forgotton this great series over the years, and many of the games NEVER made a western release. I loved this series as a kid and yea, the original 4 games are VERY dated, and its amazing that I can go play G.U. any day of the week but these 4 can be painful and require dedication to get through. but I find they are a part of gaming history that needs to be remembered. Would love a remaster....but if it was more popular, I would love an entire remake

The dot hack series was such am important part of my formative years as a child. I still remember buying it from Radio Shack of all places and begging my mom to go back to the same location to pick up subsequent volumes. I remember joining the ign forums and being an active member on the .hack boards, sharing hard dungeon keywords, we even had a challenge page where we collectively submit the most suicidal maps to spawn in on. It formed the foundation of my online social development from a fake online game starting point. From the music I used to play to fall asleep as night, to the various Manga and anime of varying quality I genuinely loved the series and hope it sees some level of revival though am content with GU remaster. Thank you for covering it all.

Sora is an AI because at the time of quarantine's end, Ryou [Soral IRL] has no recollection of anything that has happened in his life prior to him waking up from the coma. Insinuating that for him to be playing the world, and interacting with people he knows, he needs to have his memories, which he has lost. When Morganna turned Sora into Skeith, she trapped his memories in Skeith as well [I think...?]. When Sora is finally freed in Mutation, He is just an AI created from the memories Morganna took away from him [Ryou was still in a coma at this point].

This was a cool sequence of videos to watch through! I played the first game briefly ages ago, but think I was too young to really appreciate it at the time. What a cool idea for a game (or series of games). Plus the way it ties into the OVA and the anime and such... I just really like hearing folks talk about things they're passionate about, and your videos here have certainly been no exception!

I 100% remember using CodeBreaker to add Virus Cores to my inventory because I was not going to grind for that shit even as a 10 year old.

Wow. I was just talking about these games a few weeks ago. I played all of these as they were released, plus watched the anime and read the manga/novels. (I was invested!!) A group of friends and I even cosplayed as //SIGN characters back in the early/mid 2000s. Thanks for the amazing flashback. Wish I’d kept my games. They are worth BANK nowadays.
