Kidd's like wayyy too skeptical about everything lol. It's okay to be skeptical of things but the point of history is that it's the consensus of most historians, geologists, etc so it's not like they're making shit up completely. They have evidence to back these things up like first hand accounts and archeological discoveries.

Japan was absolutely ruthless in battle because of Bushido(Death before dishonor). They were even regarded by Hitler as “the Asian master race” to put in perspective, in WW2, for every 3 killed, 1 European would surrender, while in Japan, only 1 would surrender for every 150 killed. They were seasoned fighters/killers, and they were a painful thorn in the Americans side, which is why they(US) had 2 options: either invade the Japanese mainland, and lose potentially 100s of thousands of men, or try to force them to surrender now with the 2 atom bombs we just made.

Americans seem to forget that prior to WW2 the USA was not really that powerful. It used the war to solidify it's position in the world. The UK was paying back the US until fairly recently, including giving them a shit ton of technology and a lot of German scientists post WW2 came (or were very strongly encouraged if you get my drift) to come to the US. Which basically enabled you to land on the moon. But in terms of overall contribution Russia (USSR) did way more than anyone else to end WW2.

Sadly the UK pays everyone everything we’ve got. Our country is absolute shambles. We continue to allow illegals in from France (who are not fleeing war torn nations but instead coming here for our lucrative benefit system) whilst it’s citizens are homes less and suffering. UK is weak. The eastern world is much better than the west.

@@johnswealu3917 In return for what? money of course! Because even when there's a common enemy threatening to take over the world, you guys just have to rake in those profits with that lend lease program, so by all means, fuck your entire weapon contribution, and Operation Bagration is what won WW2, not D-Day. I rest my case.

4:45 Context: The first time the Mongols tried to invade Japan, their first fleet was swept into the rocks by the coast. It's where they get the word 'kamakzi'- Devine wind.

13:00 at this point in the history, America was not expected to join the war at all only assist in financing their allies. So Italy and Japan allying themselves with Germany was a power move and smart, definitely not weak considering they conquered and had control of several other countries at that time…..until Japan accidentally bombed Pearl Harbor thinking it was just another island (not part of the US) and gave the US a reason to now join the war and heavily shifted that balance. So on hindsight Germany’s alliance with Japan may have screwed them over lol
@Talouspoliittinenkeskustelija
Since you are watching a history video, could you also watch WW2 with army sizes. It shows what happened in the european theater during world war 2

Fun fact there was a guy who was maybe a salesman and his boss told him to go to a place for his job and a bomb landed nearby and he was think only one to survive, he then went back to his job head quarters when another bomb landed and his boss and co worker or supervisor as well as others was killed but he survived, (he was standing beside his boss and co worker or supervisor)

Wait wait wait wait wait - you mean Kidd didn't know the bombs were named Fat Man & Little Boy?? 😯 And from the other video (since the comments were turned off): what he said about religion made sense; it made me think of something Anne Rice said in The Vampire Lestat, about him freaking out about there not being anything after we die, just a black void; what if the first religion was formed because the people were also afraid of that being the case & having something to believe in comforted them? 🤔

they dropped 2 nukes because there were 2 different types of nukes so the first would have got a surrender the second was just to see how destructive it was compared to the first, an amazing story from that was a man was 2-5 m/km (cant remember if it was miles or kilometer) from the first blast and after his escape he had been sent right to where the 2nd was dropped and again 2-5 m/km away from the second blast, he survived both blast and lived to be 93 a true survival story
@crylune
@crylune Год назад
They dropped 2 nukes because they are absolute fucking idiots who can't resolve a war the regular way so instead they decided to murder hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, then have the audacity to tell other countries that they cannot own nukes almost a century later*
@leodouskyron5671
@leodouskyron5671 11 месяцев назад
Actually the US asked before and after each Nuke if Japan would surrender. And they did say what would happen if they didn’t. The bombs were different because they had two “different lines” making nuclear material. Also when the second bomb dropped the USSR attacked Japan (Prior to that the two countries had a non aggression pack and Japan was hoping that the USSR would help with negotiations with the US) So after two nukes and being attacked by the USSR you would think they would quit right. Nope. The generals still thought they could make the US quit (note that Japan was literally training school girls to shoot American troops with one shoot wooden guns!). It was the Emperors that decided it was over. Even then Japan also may not have surrendered if the regular military had not defeated a rebellion of elements of the military. Their were soilder that still wanted to fight!
