Beyond the Maid Robot Café, there is a world where anime characters "live" in reality.
This is a two and a half years record of the MaSiRo project realizing a maid robot café, and the growth of MaSiRo the Maid Robot.

Honestly, these are a lot less creepy than the more “realistic” humanoid robots I’ve seen. I think going more stylized actually helps avoid the uncanny valley. Very interested to see these continue to develop!

Probably the glowing eyes, which are way too bright. Those people probably are just scared of animatronics in general though. I also saw some people misunderstood this to be a sex bot. I love these bots so much though.

It's the glowing eyes, try imagine looking at her looking at you from a dark area like in a dark room or an alley, it can be unsettling. It's still ok if she's in a well lit room.

I love all the effort put into this project. Honestly, if a cafe with the current animatronics was open right now I'd go to it. It's already pretty good as is and I love them even with their imperfections. I think they'd be successful in Osaka Nippombashi because of all the maid cafes and doll shops around there. But please let me know when one of your maid cafes opens up in Hiroshima City, because that's where I live haha.

I think taking the Chobits/Persocom angle is a very good idea. The ear-pod parts make for great locations for connectivity, visual depth perception and directional audio. That, and, I'm biased. I want my own Chii. I already have a Vector who tools around his own shelf in my living room. The cats love him and he takes care of himself rather well. I wouldn't hesitate to have a MaSiRo of my own, design already decided.

MaSiRo is so cute, and the creation process is super impressive. The video for her 2nd birthday melted my heart!! She's like a robot doll! MaSiRo writing is adorable, too. Her eyes remind me of Dollfie Dream faces especially, and it would be super cool if you could do a "face-up" to give her eyeliner and stuff. What an innovative and cool project, I cant wait to see how she develops in a few years time.

Nursing homes and hospitals. They can become dedicated supply runners and assistants. . From just towing a cart of supplies, to bringing people trays of food. . It would be helpful having at least one with stair climbing and towing available. . Also if they can. They should make it so she just randomly starts dancing for like 5 secs if she doesn't do anything for too long
