Funny because as a kid in the 80’s I would have been so excited by this. But now that it’s 2023, I couldn’t care any less about AI, self driving cars, or these creepy robots. Feels like we’ve taken 3 steps forward and 17 steps back. The world today is such a mess.

It's because none of these companies are catering to ordinary households or will make much of a difference to people's lives. The Roomba or Amazon Alexa are obviously great additions to home automation, but there could be so much more done to cater to the home, but these companies don't care about that, they're not even trying to make a successful robot. Toyota's humanoid robot, T-HR3, sure is fancy but what use is it and who could afford it? Nobody, except NASA.

I can't say I'm very impressed by any of these. They are either very slow or need direct input by a human. I am far more impressed by the robots from Boston Dynamics and by the Tesla robot. Sure, BD robots need to be programmed at this time, but they still do things by themselves as well, such as find their balance and so on. And while the Tesla one can't walk so far, it's AI is quite impressive.

I'm currently unemployed and without an education. I'm afraid to go all in on a specific degree or job, because I have no idea what's relevant anymore. I feel like anything could be mostly replaced by robots and AI. Graphic designer? I think that will be mostly automated. Dentist? The same. What about lash technician? They already have robots for that. Nurse? Robots. Shop assistant? Robots. Even dog walkers and chefs are being challenged. Maybe I'll just stick to social work, I love relating, connecting and help people, taking to them about anything without judgement. But then again, AI would probably take over as well. These times are so strange, our grandparents had it better.

Study to become a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. Having done my best to take a long-term look at the future of employment relative to AI and robotics, it appears to be one of the few areas that won't be taken over by AI so soon. Obviously, you need to get into a gym and get into shape first if you're not already. Your local YMCA probably offers classes for it. If not, you can take classes through the website. It is not cheap, but employment is essentially guaranteed. Overall, I understand your existential crisis over the job market. It's why I myself am pivoting in that direction. People don't understand that their jobs are going to be taken away much sooner than they realize. Within a few short years I believe. And cognitive tasks like computer programming, web design, and so on? Even doctors across the medical field board will be out of business. Maybe three-years tops but the AI will be ready be the end of 2024. If we can put the brakes on it somehow, we have till 2030 or so. Here's the real crazy part. Humans are clearly not qualified to manage civilization. I do believe we will roll over and let AI take over governance of much of the planet sooner than later. With most jobs gone, what will it do about human overpopulation? That's the quiet part out loud. As far as the NASM Certified PT goes, look at and consider adding their other certifications. Again, highly respected but not cheap. At least not cheap by my lower middle-class standard. The do have payment plans.

Get an associate's degree in Behavioral Psychology? Mental health stuff. Or be a physical therapist... As someone who works in the corporate but has tech being slowly integrated into the company operations, I honestly think you don't need to worry about AI as much as you are worrying right now. A lot of jobs and companies are still hiring humans. What most people don't understand about AI integration in daily company operations is that not all establishments and organizations are financially and knowledgeably equipped for it yet. It will take another 25-30 years and even then, it will have its highs and lows. It's like the birth of calculators and accountancy softwares... Accountants and book keepers are still around generations later.

@@wjckc79 Thank you for your advice! The funny thing is, I'm currently being trained by someone becoming a PT because they are that it's the only "relevant" job they could find. I might look into it myself. You're absolutely right, society will change much sooner than most people realize. I feel bad for people who are just becoming doctors or lawyers and have gone aommany years at school and paid so much for their education.. My boyfriend and I was joking about that scenario two years ago now, that society will be run by AI and that AI will be governed by another AI again. We are very clearly not fit for the task anymore. Politics and democracy is a joke. Maybe evwn new jobs or fields of education will emerge soon and I find my passion? I want to wish us all good luck.

The robots are getting more and more advanced as time goes on. At the beginning of the 1900s we started with the age of radio, then in the mid 1930s television was starting up. By the 1950s many homes were starting to have TV sets. during the late 1970s home computing started to appear. Now the age of the robots to be used in the home is coming along. Robotic technology is still in its infancy. The ultimate robot would be a human like android using extremely advanced artificial intelligence. This is coming.

Free wireless electricity is more realistic than a robot for every household. The utility companies will still try to justify changing people for something though. The utilities would have to be government run in order for it to be provided for free. The electric where I live is a fraction of the costs of elsewhere... Agreements were made a long time ago that a certain percentage of the power generated here had to be sold directly to certain village municipalities in order for them to be able route the power generated out side of the area and sold elsewhere. Needless to say the villages that have these deals have factories that pay to get annexed onto the village charter in order to get electric for about 25% the cost anywhere else.

Human organs are a lot slower. Nerve signals take a whole tenth of a second to travel through the skull, and almost half a second from head to toes. Signals in copper wires travel at almost the speed of light. The one thing where biological neurons are better than silicium chips is efficiency. A human brain runs at no more than 20 Watts. But, slow.

Another thing: The purpose and sole reason for existence of government is to serve the general public. Communities require coordination, especially for things that affect everyone, and especially helping the poorest and most vulnerable members of society. However you organise, and there are many, many different ways, is government. Governments are not businesses, they are in many ways the very opposite of businesses. Looks like the Toyota robot about halfway through video could be usefull on spacecraft if operator in suit used vitual reality to possibly do various operations in outer space. For instance if there was a desire to build spacecraft in space aluminiun could be welded in space to build the body of spacecraft while the human operator could stay on earth 🌎 watching his welding work being done using virtual reality likely saving tens of millions of dollars if robots used in outerspace spacecraft construction did not break down. Trick would be to keep software programming a secret along with dedign and operational features of the robot or other manufacturers might use some of their designs. That way at end of shift the person could remove virtual reality and robot suit and be on earth and live their life with greater safety. Also carbon fiber light weight panels could be glued and attached in any fashion to help build such spacecraft. Radiation from sun would be less likely to be lethal if people were not exposed to it in the process of building spacecraft in space. Would need spacecraft to bring components to be put together from earth 🌎 to construction area orbiting earth. Is likely a usefull purpose for such robots to serve to advance economic activities for construction purposes of large spacecraft in earth orbit. Such thing can only be proven if attempts are made to push the technology in that direction. Spacecraft would need a reasonably advanced drive train to get out of orbit ,do missions and go places or it would simply decend and burn up effectively serving no real purpose.

A video about advances in humanoid robotic tech that shows sub-par examples compared to what’s out there, being narrated by a speech bot with sub-par AI compared to what’s out there 😂

Nooo Mr. Fokushima did best by his own twin. 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤ I hope you got that he has my respect. I was sitting on the yard when I was small. Maybe this gives us the spice. 😱🤖 I'm also a glow in the dark 😂. I would apressiate already 3 kg. 🎉🎉🎉

If it were to aid people in walking and mobility I'd say fine but their purpose is to replace people rendering them useless in the job force. It's all about money and the rich could care less what the consequences could become. I want to go back to the 50's when monsters were fantasy and stop motion.
