I think Most Wanted (2005) and Carbon, as well as Underground 2 and 1 are the best. The rest are okay and the oldest and newer ones are actually terrible
+cathlic Vier Underground 2 was my first racing game. I think Most Wanted (2005) was, like everyone else, my favorite (especially since I got it for my birthday) shit was so awesome, I wish I could go back in time, wipe my memories of playing it, and experience it for the first time again.
Nothing against the early 2000 games just saying since I grew up with the older need for speeds and see the transitions from the 90's to now the games are different. Personally not in a good way. To much like take down series
3 Best Need For Speed are : Need For Speed Underground (2003), Need For Speed Underground 2 (2004) and Need For Speed Most Wanted (2005). My favourites' Need For Speed !!!
No these 3 are crap. All the gameplay footage of these I've seen on RU-vid is just bad graphics and strange (u know why... The clothing and behaviour of the girls) cutscenes. So I guess most of the people playing these 3 games are just 10 year olds in early states of puberty playing them just for the girls...
That moment when you remember playing the very first two games, and you also remember you weren't *that* young at the time..... All these comments about NFS: Underground or Wanted being the first NFS they played. God I feel old
Rivals is my favourite NFS of all time. It got amazing reviews and gave a new taste to the series that nearly everyone liked. I dont care what you say it was the best
hookist1 Burnout Paradise is good though, and I know it's not the normal LOOK AT MY SKYLINE INNIT SICK BRUV but, personally, is my favourite. Or Underground 2...
Underground 2 Best game of the series by far. . . Watching this video actually makes me consider finding my old ps2 and playing this game again. . . Such beautiful memories
Need for Speed: High Stakes (Road Challenge) is the best NFS in the series. The cars, tracks, soundtrack, gameplay and the nostalgic tournaments. Now is all about running from the police and unrealistic gameplay. For me, NFS nowadays is just another racing game, and launching a game every minute sucks. Let us enjoy a game at least a long time before a new one. My opinion.
Carbon is the best nsf ever made just off it was open world you could "fully" customize not just the paint and the car variety they had all the exotic and supercars to customize and the nissan and mazdas and actuall race cars if they the next nsf game should be that plus cops in it
Maybe it's just me, but I enjoyed the free roam and drag racing aspect of Most Wanted. I especially loved the random police chases ^-^ Wish they would make more games like that :P
If you're talking about the original Most Wanted, yeah that's my absolute favourite. Only thing I HATE are the drag races because I swear the traffic is programmed to troll the player.
Mike . Hopefully they deliver what they promised in 2015 with the new need for speed that got 2 years for development. They say it's going to be an improvement on the recent failures.
I personally like the most wanted and hot pursuit games more than the underground ones. I'm not so enthusiastic about tuning and underground racing games, since the the cars are ugly as shit and that I think exotic super cars are better and more action packed. I'm, however, still excited for Need for Speed 2015 and will give it a try.
I hate that the creators of Need for Speed have made all their recent games single player only (unless you play online). I missed the old multiplayer games where I would be able to play with my siblings or friends when they'd come over.
Idem and its not only need for speed. Many games now in days don't have 2 player mode or split screen, instead they are adding coop ONLINE witch its a real BS cuz not all my friends have a console like mine (ps3). And that is why i still own the ps2 for obvious reason.
I think the story of carbon is unlikely, as opposed to mostwanted, those races in the canyon do not convince me that much anyway to each one the own preference!
@@ar4lD0-Locus The physics of MW2005 literally sucks, because literally abuses of Rubberbanding handling, i really wish that they stick to the physics of the NFS HP2 and NFSU2.
I remember the Mustang Cobra R being uncontrollable because it always drifted around. And my two favorite cars have to be, the Diablo and that one Ferrari that had Berlinetta in the name. The Jag was a little slow.
+alberot11 Same NFS Porsche Unleashed was the first I played as well. The only difference is I would switch Most Wanted (the first one from 2005 not the shit from 2012) with NFS Underground 2. NFS Underground 2 was the first "modern" NFS game I played, was the first to introduce open world driving. The Customization was amazing, and it was based at night time, which if we are being honest is when underground street racing is most likely to occur. Most Wanted was a nice continuation of NFSU2 but it wasn't better IMO.
The first game I ever played from EA was Need for speed underground, so many new games have come its unreal, but I still play underground its just a amazing game.
The series died for me with underground. I can understand the appeal of customizing your cars, but for people like me the NFS games were simple arcade fun. Just pick your beautiful and expensive car, which you couldnt afford in real life and drive it on exotic and atmospheric tracks all over the world. Different countrys, different cops. I never was into cartuning and i never could understand, why it had to be just in the city and at night. So yeah, for me the upcoming NFS will be a step back into the wrong direction. They should've gone a little bit more into the past and rely on a simple, beautful and fun racing game.
And? The old games had Lamborghinis, McLarens, Ferraris, Dodges, BMWs, Chevys and Fords as well and a couple of other brands. I'm talking about the stone age of the games.
+Blister Monde The modern games live up to both fans expectations really. If you want the old school exotic car racing, there's Hot Pursuit and Rivals. For Customization cars racing there's the new Need for Speed 2015. Everybody wins this race.
I think a lot of NFS fans will greatly anticipate the new NFS. Confirmed to be more of a tuner game, no more of this 'fancy schmancy exotic lamborghini starting car' bullshit. Progression, customization, tuning a fiat punto to go against a M3 GTR. That is what we want. I am by no means calling myself a hardcore NFS fan. I have played the old games and for their time I can understand that they were works of art. It all went south just after undercover.
NdM HD Why wouldn't you want exotics in a racing game... I agree with you, we shouldn't start in a Lambo or anything like that. But we should work up to the Lambo and other exotics. I don't see the fun in playing a racing game, especially one like NFS, where the best car is a Skyline or a Supra. Don't get me wrong, those are both amazing cars and I'd love to own them in real life, but I don't think they compare at all to cars like the Zonda 760RS and other exotics in that class. But I enjoyed NFSHP2 and MW (and Rivals) way more than Underground. If this new NFS doesn't have exotics, I at least hope it has nice *and* new BMWs, Audis, Mercedes, and Porsches.
I have nothing against having exotics in the game, they add a nice balance. However, I prefer having a wider choice than being forced to stay in a Lamborghini to win races.
+NdM HD I think this guy is fucking right, the new NFS and stuff is very very stupid and exotic bullshit. Tuning a car and upgrading it on your own is just the shit. Earning money, sick visualization, nice body kits, upgrading your brakes, turbo, nitro, engine. That's alot of cool stuff.
Ahhhhh the nostalgia. I grew up on NFS. These games turned me on to cars. First time I heard of and saw Mclaren F1, Ferrari F50, Lamborghini Countach, Jaguar XJ220, etc. was in these games. I had 7 of the first 10 games. Still have a few of them.
+Bubble Double Because they do. They share the same Graphics Engine (+NFS World). Then NFS Shift/Shift Unleashed uses the same engine currently powering Project CARS. MW2012 uses Burnout Paradise's engine and The Run, Rivals and NFS2015 use Frostbite Engine, engine used in Battlefield games.
Mis favorito NFS son / My Favorite NFS is: Need for Speed Hot pursuit (2010) Need for Speed: Carbon Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005) Need for Speed: Rivals Need for Speed: Shift Need for Speed: Underground 1 Need for Speed: Underground 2
RIP Need for speed (1994-2002) best need for speed games created back in the day. Need for speed was the the best racing games created ever until Electronic arts messed the game franchise up with the gangster crap. Us 90's kids had it great I was born in 93 and got to play the earlier more better versions of need for speed before need for speed. I remember me and my family would always play these games all the time and it was so fun I would always have fun racing against my grandfather and winning =].
Jesus Christ Lol, you realise a lot of the electronic artists from the original games would happily give permission to use their music. The person who made this clearly didn't want to go to that effort, which is bad because the best trigger for nostalgia is not the game footage itself but the music.
This is, by far, the best Need For Speed History video, I've ever seen, though it only focuses on the period to the year 2014 ;) Anyway, great video. Definitely, it's worth to leave a like :D
Underground 1 & 2 were the best no doubt. They made NFS what it is now. It was so good for its time and it still looks fucking good. They need to come out with a game like that again, Underground 3 maybe? lol it has to happen
You don't get my point. Look at how many games came out after Underground that has NOS in it: Most Wanted, Carbon, Undercover, Hot Pursuits and Most Wanted 2012 not only have nitrous, it had the burnout driving system. Why would NFS give Most Wanted 2012 and Hot Pursuits games the Burnout system is they were against it, and the NOS. It makes absolutely no logical sense. When Underground came out, it was what changed NFS, it made it so popular. Why they think that style of racing is ruining their game??? If anything it made them what is it today, it made them more popular, which equals more money. If NFS tried to be a game like Gran Turismo or Forza, it will terribly fail at achieving that at not even, it will not even be in a level to compete with them. I know that for a fact because the NFS games that are trying to be more like GT and Forza are just terrible. If NFS leans towards 2F2F and Police chases style it will be the best racing franchise of all time, because that's what it made them different from others, NFS is unique because of that. But at the time Gran Turismo and Forza hold the best racing games title, NFS can't compete with them, no racing game can, unless they have an unique style in the past.
***** Just because it wasn't like that doesn't mean it's wrong! I understand that. You don't understand, racing is not just sprint racing, Drifting (I'm not talking about Burnout drifting), Drag racing, nitrous are all things that are in daily racing. There's nothing wrong with adding things that are a part of racing. There was no exact path to follow for NFS, there's a reason why they leaned that way, like I said it makes no logical sense that someone leads to something they don't like. They didn't do anything wrong, if anything they made their franchise blew up in popularity, no one cares about the what the games was supposed to be, people only like NFS and consider it a relevant racing game is because of the style change which was something new and fresh and not only that but Underground completely was a graphics improvement. If NFS leaned towards the GT and Forza style it would of just been a disaster and an irrelevant racing game this day.
+manda I had the Platinum edition, bought it used for like 2 bucks. Opened the case after i got it and was covered front and back with hundreds of scratches
Jasvir Ghotra someone made an offline mod thing so you can still play it now by yourself probably someone will make it online but someone will host the servers and not EA
NG Ds Criaition LTU I might decide to go back and try it... I just think the manual transmission layout and the viewing system is dumb. I guess I've just had more experience with forza

This brings so many memories. From buying that cobalt in MW to loving that R8 in MW 2012. I've had so much fun with NFS and the only one I really don't like is undercover. Is anyone else in the same boat? Because I thought the world was just a little depressing
ThaneDukeHeineken NOBODY CORRECTS THE CREATIVE DRIFTER OF NEED FOR DRIFT UNLESS IF YOU'RE R1C3R #DriftBoostEveryDay #MLGDrifting #ExoticzRulez #DriftYourselfsR1C3Rz
Meh,own the city had a good story, prostreet was a nice track driving party game(the Mario party equivalent in nfs in my opinion) and undercover was unfinished, after undercover it went down hill
@@CynicalGamingBlogTerry309 And I bet you that you regret to called The Run as a POS, when they bring it NFS 2015 and Payback, just because it wasnt made by Black (Rubberband) Box, dont you, shitter?
I played: - Hot pursuit 2 - Underground - Underground 2 - Most Wanted - Carbon And then I grew up and got GRID. Never looked back at NFS after that. GRID got me into simulator style games. Went to GRID 2, tried GRID Autosport but didn't like it and went for Assetto Corsa. These days I play Assetto Corsa, Project Cars and GRID for the drifting. (also played The Crew for a while cause it came free with GTX 970 but that's more like NFS)
Yeah same with me! My first racing game was Need for Speed High Stakes 1999 Then moved to Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 also at the same time got my first Burnout. Then about 2 years later I discovered Gran Turismo. That was my first "Real" racing game and my mind was changed forever! I have not a NFS in over 12 years! This whole time I've bought Gran Turismo, Forza as starters then got more technical with GRID then discovered PC sims with the Assetto Corsa beta and Project Cars alpha.
