T-Mobile is the longest carrier that I have ever been with. I’m so happy how they have started from the bottom, and look where they are now. Thank u John. And thank u Sneed for doing this video.

John is the Man!!! No one will be doing what John did, he will be missed. I never left tmobile because of him, he made us like we are part of the BIG tmobile family. Back in 2017 when I visited Seattle, I went to Tmobiles headquarters in Bellevue, I was so excited to be there, took a bunch of pictures and stuff. I cant wait what's next after the merger. Thank you for this great history Sneed. More power to you.

I've been with T-Mobile for 10 years and have seen the growth customer and network wise. I used to secretly watch Uncarrier events at work because every Uncarrier announcement was exciting. People can say whatever they want about John Legere, but AT&T and Verizon wouldn't have brought back unlimited data plans if it weren't for him. Don't forget Verizon playing ads saying you don't need unlimited data months before they brought back unlimited data plans.

I never woulda thought back in 06/07 when I had my Tmobil sidekick that they would one day buy out Sprint and climb up to compete directly with At&T and Version. Back then T mobile was seen as the low tier, poor kids network all the rich kids at school had Version or At&T, middle class had Sprint and somewhere at the bottom was Tmobil and Cricket as the "ghetto" phones. Times have certainly changed.

Sneed,youre the man..You have done the legwork on the origins of the Uncarrier,its bumpy transition with Deutsche Telekom, kicking AT&T (Cingular) to the curb,acquiring Metropcs and now the awaiting of the merger with Sprint...

I worked at Verizon when the failed merger between att and T-Mobile took place and it was a weird time. The arrogant emails we received from corporate stating that they weren't worried and that Verizon would continue to be the #1 carrier. Fast forward 2 years and I was a Manager at AT&T and my goodness it was amazing how quickly we responded to whatever T-Mobile was doing with the Un-Carrier initiatives. Bringing back unlimited data at AT&T and Verizon was insane. Both companies had no intention on ever bringing that back and then the end of 2 year contracts was epic as well. I applaud T-Mobile for what they’ve accomplished in such a short time and that’s why I’m a customer today.

I remember my first mobile carrier was VoiceStream and then a few months later T-Mobile took over. I still have the first phone I got from VoiceStream. The plan was $19.99 which included 60 minutes of talk time.
@kenm3209
@kenm3209 4 года назад
Kind of light on detail... I wish you would have gone into the detail that you skipped over about the Voice Stream mergers, and included details about the coverage areas that each merger all the way back added to the eventual company coverage they have today, including the massive coverage growth since 2013.

In OKC T-mobile worked great at my house but didn’t work at the FAA where I worked, so I always had to carry 2 phones. 2 years ago, moved to CO and T-mobile doesn’t work where I live & work. Their customer svc, especially on Twitter, is amazing. Now we’re stuck with Verizon. Coverage is awesome with Verizon but their customer service is horrible. One day we will switch back to Tmo. Edit: I do thank T-mobile for forcing dumb & dumber for bringing back unlimited data. If it wasn’t for John we’d still be on shared data plans.

From my research ledger has a good track record and has done what he says. Speeds are amazing everywhere I go, I couldn't get speeds under 50mbps download, and when my download was under 50, my upload was well over 40
@realsmt

I see good speeds, up and down. Indoor service is questionable at best. That needs to improve.

Well in the last 2 years since this video posted, a lot has happened. 5g is almost everywhere, T-Mobile is solidly in 2nd place. I was back and forth a lot with Verizon and t-mobile since 2014. Verizon had great coverage but was expensive. T-mobile was cheaper but if I went outside the city limits then the service was dismal. In the last several years they made huge progress in coverage with low frequency LTE spectrum rollouts that reach several miles from the towers. Now in the northeast part of NC where I live, T-mobile is a near match against Verizon’s coverage, and they have 5G and 5G Ultra Capacity in so many areas. Last time I looked Verizon so far doesn’t have 5G here except in Hampton Roads area. I’ve switched my home internet from Spectrum to T-Mobiles 5G home internet, saving me $30/month and having way way faster speeds. But there’s been reliability issues with the 5G. There’s a few occasions every week that the internet is not working at all. I’ll switch my phone to LTE and it works fine, but I can’t do that on the 5G Home Internet device. For the price I’m paying I can’t complain too much.
