I've just moved to an anglican church from a Pentecostal church. Love the ritual every service.

I loved this conversation. Bishop Lowenfield was so right about the nature of being able to have this conversation at this point in our history. I think the true body of Christ is starting to unite more and more regardless of the label we use for denomination.

Unity for the right reasons, for Christ. But some others, like the pope, has another agenda for wanting to unite...

@@jess-jesusfreak9405 correct, I feel some Catholic leaders want to be above civil law like in the medieval times. We have to hold every belief system to the civil law and American civil societal norms. The Bishop is right. Every church has liturgy even if they do not want to admit it. The Church of God in Christ has liturgy and the vestments are very similar to low Anglican churches, even though COGIC is Holiness Pentecostal.

Coming from a Charismatic context Liturgy is so needed. To practice our faith to see, hear, smell, practice what we believe with our body is so human. Obviously all extremes lead us away from Christ. But man lets get on that liturgy train yall! lol

@@dexterlaurencejnr5293 knowing your congregation and being honest hey we’re going to try some very old Christian traditions so be patient as we find a rhythm that works for us (ie your congregation) starting small by reciting the prayer of confession Together having communion in a more regular fashion these are small but powerful steps that can be implemented

@@andreso9595 Yes, and when we remember that we have gathered as community and not as separate individuals, we confess, and pray and sing together. So if we can sing together in unison, we can certainly pray corporately together.

I’m reading the book of common prayer 1662 now. The 39 articles of faith and the homily on Justification are interesting. Learning a lot and comparing to what the Bible says. When you look at the landscape today in America…..it looks like the the time of the judges. Everyone doing what is right in their own eyes. Anyone can start a new church in America and teach whatever they want. Who are the orthodox gatekeepers???? John Wesley, John Nelson Darby, and others pulled away from the Anglican Church and started their own. Seems some wanted more reform while others wanted a complete separation. So here we are with everyone doing their own thing. Division after division even among main denominations. Review Ready to Harvest on you tube. I want to cry. Come Lord Jesus..

The Bible says that we are SAVED by grace through faith, but that we are JUSTIFIED by works. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" - Ephesians 2:8 "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only." - James 2:24

No the Bible doesn't teach we are justified by works. It does teach that genuine Faith produces good works and thus our faith is justified by the works. That's a big difference
