This is my interpretations of the history of the Mid Sodor and Arlesdale Railways. Made in an attempt to have a complete record of the history of the railways in the Arle valley and fill in some gaps in the process.

I love your ennterpritation of the Arelsdale railway, if it is one thing I love to see,it is fellow RU-vidrs using their imagination to make awesome canons for Thomas as a franchise.

It's pronounced the Fest-in-iog Railway I would like to think that in the mid 2010s the Arlesdale brought and restored an engine from Spain just like the Ravenglass & Eskdale Also it would make sense to have Jock built in 1990 because at the time the R&ER was building Northern Rock 2 for a Japanese client so castings etc could be shared.

I feel like I should point out a few things regarding the Mid-Sodor engines. 1. Some of them are missing from this video. Alfred, John and Jennings were never brought up once. 2. Atlas was actually the name of another engine. The mine engine had no established name. 3. There were apparently three different engines named Albert who worked on the railway at different times. The first (Albert A) was a red Baldwin saddle tank engine, and was Number 3 before Falcon. The second (Albert B) was a blue Hughes Falcon saddle tank engine, just like Falcon, and the third (Albert C) was a red side tank engine, and was in charge of a passenger train called “The Parliamentary”. Both engines had carried the Number 5. 4. There were three Baldwin saddle tank engines, those being Alfred, Atlas and Albert A, as I just mentioned above.

I agree with that, except for the part you mentioned about three different engines named Albert. (There was only one Albert on the railway, who survived the explosion from the gunpowder wagons, and ended up as spares for the other engines after running dry, using up all his water.) Another engine missing on the Arlesdale Railway, is an indigo diesel named 'Ivan Farrier', after the chairman who retired in 2006. This new diesel was based on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway ICL No.11 'Douglas Ferreira' and acted as station pilot, so Sigrid of Arlesdale could have more time with some other work alongside Frank.

Another thing: Albert was a goods engine and never pulled any passengers. The Parliamentary was actually given to Fletcher, the MSR's first number 5, a maroon Fletcher & Jennings Class C Saddle tank. Then in 1919, the train was given to Gerry. As for Jim (a Kerr Stuart Skylark 0-4-2T), he did pull the Horse and Cart train, but was considered a "jinx". After an severe accident on the way to Ulfstead Road one winter, he was repaired and had his cab removed. Jim was sold to a sand quarry railway in England, just before the Peel Godred Power Station was planned. And also Tim was bought in 1917 during World War I. And also Atlas is a female. But there was a male mine engine named "Alfred", who was withdrawn in 1929 and used as spare parts for Atlas.

The main issue with engines for the Mid Sodor Railway is that they were all based off of engines that Awdry used on his model railway. This means trying to come up with ideas for stories which lead to an engine being replaced every time Awdry scrapped one model and built another. The lack of dates don't help either. This the best I could piece together based on the information I had. As for the engines I failed to mention, I did say that not every engine that ever worked on the Mid Sodor Railway was documented properly, if at all.

I've had a few ideas about that on the backburner for a while now. But it does present a few problems. Nevertheless it is an idea I plan to tackle, just as soon as I have figured out how.

Well it sort of runs along the same area but the arsdal railway doesn’t reach all the way to peel godred

True, however there history is linked and the Arlesdale Railway probably wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the Mid Sodor Railway.

Nope in the photos from the msr book you can see his pony trucks if you look in the photo of falcon hanging off the cliff its apparent their there.

@@SundropStudios199 Falcon returned to Loughborough in 1910 to have his trailing wheels fitted, but the story Bulldog takes place in 1904, so his trailing wheels being there are an illustration error.

Actually, Duke became the Skarloey Railway's No. 8 after Skarloey, Rheneas, Sir-Handel, Peter-Sam, Rusty, Duncan and Ivo-Hugh when he was restored towards the end of the 1960's.
