Lets learn how to perform a perfect forehand swing in Racquetball. Hitting your forehand swing is very much like skipping a stone across a lake. To begin, you want to turn and face the sidewall. Next, look down at your toes to make sure that they're in-line along the same board.
After that, you'll want to work on your grip. Make sure you have a proper forehand grip. Next you'll set your elbow level with your shoulder. The forearm is flat and your wrist is cocked-up and loaded. Your racquet-head will be pointing towards the ceiling and the back edge of the racquet will be facing the back wall.
After you've got your form down, get into a good athletic position. That means you'll bend at your knees and then slightly sit down like you're sitting in a chair. Next you're going to drop the ball out and step forward. When you step forward, your foot will be slightly open to the front wall. This is designed to take the pressure off your front knee.
It's important that you don't step to the sidewall too much because that won't help your swing at all.
When you start your motion forward, your elbow is going to lead into the swing. The weight will transfer forward and you're going to contact the ball. Your arm is going to be extended but not locked. There should be a micro bend in your elbow to keep pressure off the elbow. The hit-point is going to be between the heel and the big toe.
Then you'll swing through flat, finish your swing all the way around, release your back heel and come up on the toe and let it turn a little bit. This will take all the pressure off your lower back so that, at the end of your swing, you can stand up and be ready for the hit.
