I've had a friend's long finger nail scratch my L eye, years later Mardi Gras beads slam my L eye, and years later -today- an umbrella (hard to close) reopened and knocked me in the L eye. I have had surgery for glaucoma w some damage to optic nerve back in 2020. So far, my eye is feeling better.. vision same. Notified Dr.. all wait n watch.. I always pray all is fine ! And believe it!

You didnt mention seeing your optometrist, they are often easier to get in to see and closer to where you are, have longer office hours, and will only have to refer if it is surgical.

I wish I would of seen this video a few years ago. I was waking in the woods in the dark, without glasses. Turned around and got scratched on the cornea by a tree branch. Didn’t know it was a scratch tho. It was HELL!! Omg all night long I thought I had a piece of bark stuck in the top of my lid. I couldn’t open it and tears kept streaming out. Even with my eye shut. Ughh ended up going to the hospital in the morning. Doctors Couldn’t see anything until they dropped some yellow dye in there. Under a blue light. And yep has a nice big old scratch a millimeter away from my pupil. Thank god for the numbing gel they gave me, to flip my lid to make sure no bark was there. Most horrible night of my life. Next 3 days were also bad. They ended up giving me gel antibiotic. Healed nice. I still wake up sometimes in the night, opening my eyes on my hair and the feeling comes back all over again. Hate it.

Great video! How do we prevent a young child from rubbing the eyes before we meet the doctor without an eye patch? What would you recommend to protect the eye till we see the ophthalmologist?

Great question. In the recovery room, we use these little oven mitts things. I know it sounds crazy but you could try that (duct tape them so they fit). Usually they're so big that the child can't get the mitt really close to the eye

My cat poked me in my eye yesterday it really hurt my mom told me to put an ice pack on it thank goodness his claws wasn’t out so the next day I woke up and my eye was red so then I searched up how to make your eye better when being poked in the eye and this video came up on the you can do list on blinking I was like ok so you can blink to make it better so I did that all day today and now I’m better thank you 😊

A ball hit my eye and I see things like a long exposure photography. It's been a year and I don't see any improvement. I tried wearing my friends glasses and they increased clarity but still those lines of light doesn't disappear. They become long if I see far situated objects.

One of my longtime ago girlfriend used to enjoy watching jizm shooting out but surprisingly one day she decided she wanted to watch it shooting out up close, naughty story cut short..she ended up with one eye full of hot JIZM... Hi doc may u pls answer my question, cause i keep stressing this thing soso much,,, like 5 months ago i got punch in the eye,, after that i get 3 stiched up on my eyebrows,, also i got checked alrdy to a specialist eye doctor,,they say that my eyes were ok like nothing serious. But what i scared of is , can i get a glaucoma after a years of my traumatic eye injury?? I keep stressing about this.

My kiddo age 11.. Saturday he was playing with boxes and packages and had accidentally poked his eye with one of the packages.. Really scary cause we didn't have a ride to anywhere for help.. Today as of Monday 7/3 he can at least open his eye and still has his vision but I'm more worried that its still red and its also a bit glossy.. He says it still hurts to blink and look at things though.. I'm glad I watched your video cause I was to the point ordering all the things you said not to... So I guess I'm wondering what I can do for him til we can get a ride to see his doctor?? You recommend artificial tears but are they safe for kids to have?

Do those eyewash stations they have in labs help? I poked myself in the eye with a zip tie while working in the lab. After a couple episodes many minutes afterwards of a sudden painful feeling I had something in my eye, I was inspired to practice using the eyewash station in that lab, which I had never used before (perhaps due to all the wiping up of water off the floor I would have to do afterwards), even though I didn't see how cleaning my eye would help, since I probably don't actually have something in my eye that can be washed off. I felt slightly better afterwards, and, especially after seeing this video, I can guess it was probably a good idea since I had previously rubbed my (mostly closed and crying) eye with a paper towel, and then I don't think I did this after using the eyewash station.

Hi doc. So the other night my sister and i were joking around and I took an elbow to the eye. Days later it is still sore and sitting really low. I am so scared I will have a lazy eye. I got a corneal abrasion at my dance competition. It was soooooo painful. I temporary lost my vision for a minute before it came back in spots and blurs. I just kept dancing though.

Had my eye hit a couple of times in a week. One by a dogs paw and again by a dog toy a few days later. The toy was what did me in lol. Thankfully I had an appointment with my primary Saturday so I asked him to check it out. My actual eyeball is good just the lid/surrounding area has inflammation and is what hurts. Phew I was a little worried there

I'm still dealing with an eye problem after my 3-year-old holding a stick fell backward and gouged me in the eye two decades ago! The raised scar gets dry and really hurts in the morning if I haven't had much sleep. That injury hurt even more than childbirth and a broken bone. The ER docs had no idea it would be so painful. For the past 2 years, I've been using Refresh Optive Mega-3 Eye Drops twice a day, and those have helped a lot. Love your channel!💖😎

Doc, you said it's very important to not rub the injured eye, but you didn't tell why not. If nothing is in the eye to cause it to scratch, what is wrong with gently massaging a closed sore eye?

I was just accidentally poked in the eye by one of my friends 2 nights ago, it didn’t hurt that much and I don’t think he damaged anything but my eye still feels sore 2 days later is this normal? 8 days ago I had a corneal abrasion in my left eye. I had cleaned a dirty fan and must have got stuff from that in my eye and then rubbed them. The next morning I woke up thinking I had pink eye & I went to Urgent Care. The eye drops they gave me, as the night went on, made my eyes swell shut and more painful, blurrier vision and sensitive to light. I stopped the drops and my eyes felt a little better the next morning. I believe I was allergic to the eye drops. Called eye doc and started Tobradex ointment. Slow healing and four days later, I got mold spores in my eyes and am allergic to mold. Eyes started hurting and swelling up again, and then today I cried a lot and my eyelids are swollen and left eye hurts again with blurry vision and feels like something's still in my eye and it's been almost nine days since the original injury. *Being a doctor, would you want this patient to come in right away or is it not that big of a deal? * (I plan to call the eye doctors office again tomorrow to get in. Something doesn't feel right)

hi doctor I got injured with resistance band they snapped on my eyes not the metal part the bands heart me as the hook from where they were attached broke accidently my eyes went red for 3hr but after that they got normal and also I visited the doctor he examined my eye with direct retinoscope and said that everything is good its been 3 weeks now and also on observing very carefully by looking into the sky at day time I am seeing some floaters are they normal or they are a matter of concern so can I start my strength training what measure I can take to protect my eyes can I wear safety googles which are made up of polycarbonate so that my eyes don't get injured again or can the impact of resistance bands can break those safety glasses pls reply

I was hit in the eye with a nerf gun bullet on Sunday, extremely painful for 2 days and now it’s just uncomfortable and blurry and red, I have been to see an eye doctor and he says I have damaged my cornea quite badly, so has scheduled my an emergency appointment with a hospital today. @@DrRupaWong I had my appointment yesterday, my cornea has had quite a bit of impact and has an abrasion, I have had 4 abrasions that have turned to corneal erosion due to being born with ptosis , my eye lid doesn’t close properly in my sleep which causes my eye to dry out and rip my cornea as I wake up. Good news is my retina looks okay and there is no swelling to the back of my eye and it should heal within a a few weeks, have been given Dexamethadone to take 4 times daily and Chloramphenicol to take every 2 hours

Hello DR! Just last night I was playing pickle ball and the ball deflected off my paddle and then hit me in my orbital socket. I’m pretty sure that the ball hit me in the eye after my eyelid was already closed so I don’t believe there’s any kind of abrasion. And I did have what seemed to be Strange vision I would call it on the inside corner of my eye for about 10 minutes. There was also redness around my pupil. All symptoms completely subsided within three hours. I don’t notice any symptoms at all now no redness of any kind or pain. There may be a little bit of soreness I guess but again it might also be because I’m just aware of what happened. The soreness is at most a one out of 10. Thoughts? Let’s just say I learned my lesson I took off my sunglasses for one game. I will keep them on in the future! Thanks.

@@playerunknown12396 You have to go the an eye doctor immediately to make sure there is no damage. A 5 minute laser fix can be the difference between full recovery and going blind. As to mine they did not find any damage, and my dark spot called floater changed a few times by becoming smaller. I have to see a doc next week again but from what I understand the dark spots can disappear in several months. However it is annoying. You can see it when looking out the window and wear white t-shirt so it is all light color around you. It sometimes is very small and sometimes a bit larger and sometimes shows as to smaller ones. Overall the size of a rice grain. So I will see a specialist next week and see if they tell me something different

Hi Doctor, got hit in the left eye 3 days ago by my router's antenna, was in extreme pain until I saw an opthalmologist, the next day Doctor gave me some eye drops and although i can open my eye now, but i still have a blurry vision. Not able to read nearby stuffs with my left eye. Will it be normal again?

@@DrRupaWong Thanks for replying Doctor. I had an appointment with my doctor today and after the hot air balloon test and a couple of reading tests she said it would be normal within a week at max. Feel quite relieved. Have a nice day Doctor.

Hello. Please, i need help. I am very stressed. I got a punch in the eye 3weeks ago and the hemoragy is almost gone! I see well, exactly as before BUT, when i watch upside and downside, i see double and i feel a presure in the eye. I don't have money to go for a check. The doctor from emergency said to use vit C and eye drops with local antibiotic to avoid infections. Please, i need an advice. Thanks, God bless u

@@DrRupaWong Thanks for the reply, Been two weeks since i got punched in the eye i started seeing ghost vision on very contrasted light sources in vertical (like subtitles), i went to the ophthalmologist they did a scan & cheked my vision & gave me some anti inflamatory. A week after i started to see some flashes & floating body, but the flashes have diminished in intensity & frequency, as for the floating body i only see them when i expose my eyes to Sunlight, am going to head back to the ophthalmologist tomorrow i hope il have some good news

The middle part of my daughters eye the transparent part broke off at school because she was putting a book on the top shelf & the pointy part of the eye broke off I’m really worried I’m going to the hospital is this really bad? I’m really scared for her

@@DrRupaWong thank you yes she’s in the hospital now we thought it was a piece of her eye ball that broke off but the doctors said it looks like a thin layer of spider Webb that’s pretty much stuck that’s not coming off that keeps going around her eye ball. That’s why she says sometimes it hurts her up down left & right because it keeps moving around. I’m not sure if I’m explaining it right I hope I am. The doctors that saw her were regular doctors but they are going to send her to an eye doctor that has better knowledge of what’s going on. At the moment my daughter is just waiting with her mom at the hospital because the eye doctor is doing surgery after she finishes she’s going to see her.

@@DrRupaWong Thank you very much. The doctor saw her & said a piece of her cornia not sure if I said it right came off but just a thin layer. She saw it with some machine that sees her eye like a microscope I guess but she should be ok that I’m time it will heal luckily it wasn’t a big scar if not it will be surgery. The doctor gave her drops to put on 2 times a day & something else but she has to see her again next Tuesday to see how she’s doing. My poor daughter I was really scared & her mom too crying.

Hi doctor yesterday i had a hit with small sharp silicon stone on right eye that is in white part of eye , immediately i washed with water and my eyes turned red for 2hours and it turned white and on evening i consulted opthalmologist he saif that there is no problem in eye and prescribed moxifloxacin eye drops but my doubt is in future will this hit cause a problem in my eyes

Am I ok I'm so worried I accidently got scratched by a nail by my dog the dog is clean btw and there's no blood the scratch ain't deep and I don't have any sensitivity and no pain I'm just so scared right now my eye is not red at all only the scratch the red is as tiny as an ant pls tell me if I'm ok and if it will heal I don't wanna be blind I'm so scared

Hello. Got hit by a ball on eye. I went to the doctor they told me for rest with some eye drops and tablets. On visiting second time .Doctor told me now eye is fine and visit again after 2 days. I got hit with a wooden sword, it did not scrat h my eye, but it pushed back I think. Art first I had like a shadow in the corner. That is gone, but when I strain my eye to look at the corners, I can see like a yellowish zigzag line... Or like a very light flash. Don't know how to describe it. so when I was around 7 I ran into a door knob full speed in to my right eye. Ever since ive seen warmer tones (white looks tinted with yellow) and darker (I can barely see ANYTHING at night because of this). My other eye is completely fine. Im assuming that it cant get worse?

2 days ago I was at the gym with my friends (we're working offshore) and the resistance rubberbands slipped off my feet and hit me in the eye so hard. The day after, I started having some eye floaters and it's like a hair that keeps on drifting whenever I am seeing white or bright backgrounds. Went to the medic and gave me some refresh eyedrops but on the 2nd day, I started having blurry vision and I became sensitive with light. I'm afraid that I might lose my vision anytime soon.
