9:50 Thats Lisa. Shes thai. I dont know if she went to a british school or not but whatever education she ended up receiving Thailand when teaching english tries to focus more on the british pronunciations than the american. When shes speaking full conversations her english sounds really mixed but there are times where a certain word she says is more on the british pronunciation side.

@@thebillboard500club no problem You might end up seeing the same thing if you end up reacting to NCT U or WayV The member Ten is Lso thai but its known that he went to a british school in Thailand so his english is heavily british influenced. I recommend WayV moonwalk or NCT U 90s Love Both NCT U and WayV are subunits of NCT.

Besides the music I think what really positions them in the 99.9th percentile of the industry is their unique and serendipitous journey that brought them together. Each of them are immensely multi-talented, have great personalities, they’re humble, kind, and savage at the same time.. their bond is just alluring. They have a wonderful synergistic effect whether they’re performing or not. They all have beautiful and distinguishable vocal tones and all of them being very attractive is just icing on the cake. I strongly doubt any other girl group/group of girls could create such an impact if this was their song.

I believe without them making the mv many people would buy this song too. Its their vocal for me. I can hear 4 diff tones, sexy,swag, deep and sweet. And thats blackpink. Do u dare to comment other groups that have these diff tones in 1 group ?

It's each member's vocal tonality, way of sing, and diverse charisma which literally is one of the main reasons why they have become this big. No, this is not a formula that u can found in every kpop idols, this is just a YG thing. I mean these YG things is not a something new in the kpop industry actually.

Kpop fans who have been around a bit are well aware of producer tags like JYP, Brave Sound, etcetera. Go listen real quick to 'moonshine' writer/producer team's high pitched producer tags in the start of Red Velvet's b-side Sunny Side Up and WayV's Turn Back Time; they're fun. BLACKPINK IN YOUR AREA is the greatest most memorable tag / catchphrase I've heard in the tons of Kpop I've listened to (which even goes back to a few 1st gen groups). Teddy knows what he's doing. The branding is genius ...even if it's not entirely true because I had to catch a plane flight to see their concert which was not quite 'in my area'.

it's almost been a year since this track has been released and this is still my daily bop. i feel like i became very interested in learning about production in kpop because of this 😄 also yes, the mv is amazing and they dont use green screen at all here! great vid! looking forward for more reactions. psycho by red velvet, hot sauce by nct dream, wannabe by itzy, and other blackpink title tracks are some of my suggestions!

Thank you for breaking down the songs down for us to understand better how they are put together. Also, pretty much many kpop songs have to have an unexpected twist, its pretty much a given. Big Bang who's song is called Bang Bang Bang has a twist that was offsetting when it first came out. Also every music company has a certain specific sound and image attached to it and its groups. SM is very much focused on vocals and are more R&B and funk based, they like to experiment with their songs. YG are the cool guys that vibe to their songs, they can lit up a party. Hopefully you will get to produce more KPOP songs since these are definitely more fun to listen to than western artists. Also the companies put more effort so that the songs, choreography, music videos, wardrobe and album design so that it is a cohesive and artistic product. Hopefully you get to produce a song with EXO, their producers have stated that they like working with them because they can pretty much do anything with their voices and also they like to try many genres sometimes even in the same song. I recommend Jekyll, Groove or Going Crazy from EXO and Underwater by Baekhyun.

Your lecture made me think to focus in every bits nextime.Im too focused to their songs and dance and their beautiful scenic mv thats y I really didnt notice all you've said..The one you've mention with british accent is Lisa, our favorite .She is a Thai.She's the most popular member of Blackpink.She's a rapper and a great dancer.She spits fire thats why you notice her..Her rap has an egyptian and indian sound thats y maybe you mistook it as a bristish accent?.She never had a british lineage or something. @@thebillboard500club i know you have got a lot of requests on your plate but since you are Next Level's co-producer, many people were asking if you could check out these songs that are signature SM switch-ups. - Rising Sun by TVXQ (this was released in 2005 and was also played in Fast & Furious 4!) - I Got A Boy by Girls Generation - Zimzalabim by Red Velvet - One (Monster + Infinity) by SuperM - Resonance by NCT 2020 In addition, Superhuman by NCT 127 is a must hear! This is Umu fromm ReacttotheK's favorite NCT song and she even dubbed it the best kpop boy group song! Another intresting song by NCT 127 is their "Interlude: Regular to Irregular." This is like a musical representation of NCT's concept: exploring the bridge between dreams and reality. Lastly, NCT's debut song "The 7th Sense" is a cool song. But what is cooler is that they have a performance called "The 7th Sense Reverse" which is supposed the song but in reverse. I know nothing about music and so I am super interested in an explanation on that song. I haven't seen an analysis on this yet! But its mindblowing to me! Sorry for all the recommendations. I just hope you know how greatful other fans and I are for your breakdowns!!

@@thebillboard500club one more thing! FYI, all SM mvs from around 2018 and earlier do not of english ccs!! So if you are intrested in understanding the lyrics, i recommend that you either look up the english translations or watching a '"color coded lyrics' video before or after watching the MV!!

Rose was born in New Zealand, raised in Australia. Jennie was born in Korea but lived in New Zealand where she learned English. Lisa was born in Thailand but her dad is Swedish, so she learned English to communicate with him. The accent you hear is the Aussie accent she says picked up from Rose and a dash of NZ from Jennie.

Some comments here about a reason for Lisa's British accent. She speaks 5 languages to varying degrees of fluency. Maybe that is why she has a sound that's hard to define? Also, the "fallen angel" visual is a BlackPink mv staple of rapid flashes of the 4 idols. All four girls appear in that section wearing a black gown posed in front of the black wings in rapid succession, beginning with vocalist Rose' as she raises her arms into the wing position.

I think I'm learning a lot. Now whenever I listen to a song I pay attention to every detail. Thanks for sharing your knowledge ❤ BTW, it be really nice if you analyze some Stray Kids songs; maybe God's Menu or Back Door. They are a self-produced boy group, which is very uncommon. Kpop groups aren't allowed to produce or write their own songs, but Stray Kids does all the job since even before they debuted as a group. I hope you keep doing this type of videos, bcs I learn a lot ❤

Tagging is so cool. Moonshine does this a lot. They work a lot with SM and so whenever a new album comes out, I can tell if Moonshine produced the track because I hear their tag!! They also play like an easter egg hunt game sometimes because they will do it differently for each song and sometimes you can barely tell if they are saying Moonshine or if its just a random sound!

All Blackpinks songs are great - please check out Bombayah (debut song in 2016), Kill This Love, Ddu-du Ddu-du, Whistle (another debut), Pretty Savage from James Corden's show. Another Kpop group that worth checking is BigBang (they are the OG and King of Kpop). Please check out Big Bang - Bang Bang Bang, Fantastic Baby, Loser, Bae Bae, FXXX It, Last Dance etc. Eyes, Nose and Lips from Taeyang(a member of BigBang).
