After 4D then BP comeback KTL, view are saying disappointed/didn't like it not that hard drop as 4D bla bla bla..view hours later they changed their opinion: actually I like it the more listen to it it's good.. And now HYLT that happen again..I heard for this 4 hours and it's now stuck in my head, I like BP doing something lil bit different as they said MORE ON HIP HOP SWAG... I think so many Blinks are just totally forgetting what YG is trying to achieve with Blackpink. They have reached this level of fame in the west (a market that has avoided kpop for so long) no Korean girl group ever has, and they've done this with that hard, edgy image that YG has always been good at. To expect them to compteley throw in a curveball and change this up for a softer image or a different genre is ridicilous. YG NEEDED to make sure the group continues to build on this look that makes them so unqiue. I have no doubt on the full album (if it ever gets here) we will have more a more diverse selection of genres, but for a pre-release single after such a long hiatus, How You Like That was exactly what it needed to be.

You can definitely hear the YG song structure in this song compared to some of their other groups as well. That bridge build up is similar to "Bang Bang Bang's by Big Bang, sort of to give the anthem-like vibes. I also thought the chorus had a Mino type vibe to it.

Great reaction! Honestly, when I first listened to the song, I was so hyped and it pulled through until the end of the song. I was really excited especially since I thought they were going to build up on the beat they used in Lisa and Jisoo's teasers, and they did! But when I listened to it a couple more times, I easily got tired of it. I realized that the song was not that special at all since it had the same form as the last two comebacks. The sounds were relatively new even though it stays in the same EDM genre as the previous two, but after that, I recognized that most of the hype I felt during the first listen was fueled by my 14 months of wait for a new release from them, and after a few listens, it didn't sound creative anymore. I could notice many simiarities between this and the previous comebacks (Boombayah, Ddu-du Ddu-du, Kill this Love, etc.) in terms of musical direction, and it just put me off. The production was top notch, but the song-writing and musical direction was too simple and unoriginal. I just hope in the next comeback BlackPink tries something new and not do a reboot of their old releases.

For me, its a great marketting strategy for teddys music for their main tracks. If you wanna see blackpinks other side, just listen to their B sides.. totally different. U cant blame them because they might have comapared how stay (which is a great song) had small amount of views compared to dddd, ktl, hylt so of course u expect the agencyn to stick to what is selling. Thats why an album is really good for them because they can actually show other potential and colors to their b sides.

Symbols they placed with this MV are amazing. Umbrellas burning, no covering of who they are. Trojan horses to take over the other world. Like Greeks did. It is time for them to take on another level to reach more audiences. Korean customs they are wearing at the end!

Much credit to Teddy Park and Co. However, per the track’s wiki, apparently R. Tee & 24 were the lead producers with Teddy & Danny Chung being the songwriters. I’m sure Teddy had creative input regarding musical production, but definitely have to recognize the main producers as well. Awesome production overall.

it's definitely catchy and very "blackpink", but personally I found it a bit underwhelming. i feel like the drop and last part could have been more powerful, especially with how the song started, but the energy was pretty much the same throughout the whole song. however I did like lisa's rap and each of the member's parts felt more equal. also the hanbok inspired outfits on the tonight show were really pretty, they reminded me of gokuraku joudo but Korean. lastly I don't know anything professional about music this is just my opinion so pls don't come at me blinks
