The intro was actually played on a cranked Fender 59 Bassman with mixed channels and of course Rogers special DIY flanger he made himself.

It's weird to see you with a Strat different than your CS It's even weirder to think that you look weird with a Strat when it's the Silver Sky You know what would be a perfect solution? Keeping in the studio the Roxy Pink Silver Sky. And playing "try not to take it home" challenge Oh, that actually might be a torture 😅

How about some Siamese Dream or Melloncollie era Smashing Pumpkins (I know many guitar lines were multi-tracked on top of each other to make a “wall of guitars” sound, but I’ve also heard that they used either a Fender Blender fuzz, or a Big Muff (or both?)). Or for something more modern their track FOL is pretty face-melting.

Thanks for the efforts to study the songs/tones you do!! BUT...... This is a really bad "Barracuda" sound/tone setup, quite poor versus the original. It is not that hard to get it pretty well identical - even at low volumes, via effects (even if an extra one here or there than the original had) to create that. Then the actual playing/lesson is quite wrong too. So I was quite disappointed in this EP110. :( Though I already knew this song and setup 'perfectly' anyway (All sounds/tones and all guitar parts to match the official video version).

“It is not that hard to get it pretty well identical”. That’s bold considering even Nancy Wilson said she has a hard time recreating the tone in concert.

@@kylesmith9048 :) "pretty well identical" - a somewhat subjective determination. I could write 1000 words about that Nancy thing you mention - to explain what she would truly mean. Making a whole sound stage 'replicate' a sound is a huge task, but making a small "local" amplifier setup is not at all. This is because an effects unit does 99% of every aspect of the work (sound stage) and any Amp used (if at all) is only a 'studio amp' - flat response. After the effects unit the Amp is just that - a clean amplifier (eg at home m or lower levels), but not on a 100's/1000's of watts sound stage!(!). At the 'local" (home etc) level you can maniupulate, create, the tone in the effects unit 10,000 ways which will get you to the sound you are replicating. It takes time.... experience skill... and an effects unit (setup) that can even do it (the functions/effects) - which these days 1001 units can easily do, seeing they model so much and so well. And for so little cost too. So the Nancy comment is irrelevant to this task - it does not disprove anything. The final word is the OUTCOME. Listen.... others listen.... compare, try to differentiate. In the very fine subleties for sure it will miss bits, and in some ways be a micron 'worse'/different and maybe in others a micron 'better', but can be so close that the vast majoity of listeners, 'judges', can see/hear it is so close it is effectively the same. It always has to be all done on 'your stuff' (instrument, equipment) because it is always really a Custom setup situation that the sound was built on and around your stuff. Giving an effects patch away is still useful, but can be highly 'different' when another setup uses it (same effects brand unit and model of course). So getting that correct sound is also a 'local' setup thing - it was done on that local setup and 'tuned' (created) with all, every, factor of that local setup. I play my tone versus original (for any songs etc), live by ear, or recorded/tracked against each other etc. For the reference to find/hear differences. And then more work on what is 'wrong' and can it be improved or corrected. It is not '15minutes' work to get there, plus needs a good amount of knowledge/experience about the factors (unit/effects, instrument type, pickup behaviours etc) that you gain over time - not just "Hmmm, needs a Flanger... add that in....let's dial up 12 oclock intensity" etc. And I am NOT saying YOU do a lousy job, or take 1 minute, or you dont know anything, or anything derogatory or negative - I was just saying the OUTCOME, in this case, was really poor with respect to the original. PS: A bonus Nancy comment tidbit: Half these musos, top charting or not, are not rocket scientists and are not technical at all. So for them to achieve a technical task - which creating sound is obviously technical and more towards 'rocket science' than purely creative/artistic - is destined to failure. This is also why they can struggle to replicate. They can CREATE something, anything..... but give them a task to REPLICATE and then you are taxing them and who knows what will result. Success, failure, half succees... whatever. (of course there are also sound engineers and others that could throw in their 2c worth to assist). Nancy would not even be able to come close to the 'accurate' sound I achieve (of their own sound), if given my setup..... she would never even know what does what, what matters etc. EG She would probably say things like "I think it needs a bit more SWISH" - with no way to communicate what technical effect, parameter, is really underlying it.... just a more layperson (layMuso? lol) way she would only know to use. (I could be wrong and she IS a rocket scientist - sound expert... but not from interviews etc I have seen, hehe).

@@MrPetersVideo You rule dude! Would love to have someone like you for a neighbor. I've been messing with gas since my Roland gp8 and I couldn't agree more about experience and tweaking. I also agree that this tone blows in terms of a recreation. And yet we appreciate the effort, of course. But of course. But I'd imagine you could just pull up a patch on any number of processors/modelers and get real close in an instant.
