Really sorry about your console man...hearing your story about how the modder did what they could to make it right, and how you gracefully allowed them to do that, was encouraging. Kudos on accepting this experience, bitter though it was, and using it to refresh/renew your enjoyment of your hobby. Best wishes!
!00% understand how you feel. I can tell how much these things mean to you. And its tough to see the stuff we cherish tarnished, but its bound to happen here and there as time goes by. but as you've learned and said its not the end of the world, and you still have the console and can enjoy it. That aside... the guy did an impressive job and its great that he repaired + compensated with some nice monitors.
Oh hey Mega man X4 on Saturn! I’m really hoping to get the US version soon for less than $500 which is how much I found it for at the retro world expo, though I’ve been more interested in the Japanese version which is far more cheaper & has the better intro song in my opinion. I recently got the US version of Sonic jam & so far I think it’s my favorite saturn game next to X4. The sound effects are very inconsistent in terms of quality. For instance the blue spheres in the Sonic 3 & Knuckles special stage have a seemingly higher quality sound used, but other sounds like the rings in the whole trilogy & the balloons in Sonic 3’s carnival night are terrible. Btw I really enjoyed your story on your Navi hi Saturn. As frustrating as it was to know that your Saturn got a bad crack, you didn’t lash out or anything & I think that’s awesome. I feel like there aren’t enough people who can understand someone else for just being human. No one’s perfect & I’m glad you were understanding about it. Also I think giving those two monitors as compensation is a bit overkill, but I don’t really have a good understanding of the value of them other than they’re a bit too much for me to get lol.
I've never liked the idea of buying something rare just to sell it later. I like to play with my toys because they're mine and always will be I have so much respect for you and your collection. Keep collecting because you love it. Its inspiring
If I can ever get my 3D Printing and Injection Molding setup situated after I move, and sort through some medical bills, I will shoot you a message about trying to do a solid, and make a reproduction shell for this thing so you can replace the cracked on. You don’t need a chip, use a Satiator, you will have all games on it. Then for the battery, it is up to you, I personally have a Floppy disk. I have also a Navi Saturn with lcd and boy oh boy the plastic is really bad ( my lcd has severe broken plastic but I glue it). I have some issues when I start my hi Navi Saturn, sometimes the screen stays black ( lcd and tv ) and do you think it’s from the capacitor?
