Thank you for sharing this amazing site. German WW2 radar is one of my interests, and this was, truly amazing to see. I knew the Mammut was a large array but seeing that bunker just puts the size of the monster into clearer perspective. The first bunker was another amazing place. Still with working shutters and that fascinating tall "tower" room. I suspect that may have been for an accompanying Freya radar system. Which would explain the cable ditch, and that very tall room. The Mammut and Freya had different intercept parameters so pairing them in the same area would make sense. It is a pity that the graffiti mobsters have done their best to spoil such a unique place. Thank you again for sharing these awesome places. Cheers to you all! Stay Safe!

Apologise for being late, I am deployed right now, so watching in a field somewhere is not easy. Thank you for sharing this amazing radar bunker, as you say, the size is just enormous. Those holes in the wall for the cables, show the power needed then to get the radar to work at great distances. A thought on those steps to go up, that looks like a means of caring out repairs on the unit without having to go to the trouble of clubbing the outside walls. EE was really enjoying himself. I have saved the others and will watch soon when I get back. Stay safe and well my friend

That early warning radar location is incredible in it's size. The "towers" that seemed to have had floors in them were possibly access to the cable trays carrying wiring to the radar itself? Very interesting part of the bunker as it looked like a bomb from above could have gone straight down those things. Thanks once again for taking us along! Stay safe and stay well!!

At 4:50 ; This looks to me to be a mount for a remote radar antenna with the Radar's transmitter and receiver underneath the ground inside the bunker. I would expect that there would also have been quite a bit of defensive flack and other anti aircraft weaponery.

What a brilliant bunker!!! So many details there. You're right, it is a shame that people have put graffiti all over the place, but if you look past that then you can still see the beauty of the bunker. I personally think that the holes where the machine tobruk and panzer turret are should be covered up so that no one can fall down them. Thank you for another great video. Now that was somethig. Wonder what kind of a fire occured in the Regelbau 633? Amazing that the shutters were still working, very solid. Interesting to see the co-ordinates on the Panzer Turret. The L485 Regelbau was indeed massive and extremely well constructed. Hell of a lot of concrete was needed to make that bunker. Very impressive. Right you are EE, that bunker was not boring to say the least. Thank you for taking us there EE and HH.

What a massive bunker!! This was absolutely amazing! I've never seen the like! I'm astounded by the German installations. To create something this big had to have taken some time and thought into building such a place. I know the Germans were only doing what they had to just like the allies, but the Germans were masters of building such incredible structures. 11:24 / 4 questions : 1. Were the ladder rungs lost in combat ? 2. Did the ladder rungs collapse from usage ? 3. Were the ladder rungs removed for salvage ? 4. Were the rungs appropriated for souvenirs ? ( 1 & 2 could predispose that rungs were entombed beneath the sandy floor )

Do you think the room with the compass readings on the ceiling could have been for a radio direction finding, or some kind of listening device? I would think since it's a early warning compound they would utilize all sources available at that time. Especially since the Allies were using window to foil the German radar (no pun intended). You can't hide radio waves or the noise of aircraft. Seeing how the hole was to small for a gun turret or tobruk. That would be my guess.

Yes HH that L485 Regelbau was massive and mega amounts of concrete and man hours were needed to construct it. A shame the gafitti monsters found it. I wonder too how all that sand got in there?? Curious about the removal of the bunkers also. The Regelbau 633 was interesting. Wonder what the story is behind the fire. The Panzer Turret with the legible co-ordinates most likely could still rotate. Right you are HH, one must be careful around the opening. Don't want anyone falling in. Another great video! Incredibly interested in all that's left thus I have some questions. Was most, if not all, artifacts or items left behind scrapped by the occupying military or "grave robbers" per se? Do you still run into existing, leftover swastika or eagle with swastika emblems? I've read the occupying governments went through a very important program of denazifying the country Lastly and most important - Although a very complex question I'd like to ask, in all your years of research do you believe Hitler escaped to Argentina? Curious to know your thoughts Keep up the great work! Cheers!

Well some locations do have things still there. Some places has swastika as well and who knows where the " man " was. Thanks for watching.

THIS IS ONE OF YOUR EPICS! 2:15 straight away on this 633 - there is a UNIQUE feature! "the shutter" you ask? NO the fact that there is still timber here. This was only used to form the concrete then REMOVED leaving the sharp concrete contours. This hasnt been added as looking at the left side the concrete can be seen SET over the wood! So that is 1939 wood! Great start. 3:03 this is clearly vandalism as ONLY the timber is burnt. Probably the 'grafitti yobs' who did this the same as all the outside awful paint damage. This is an equipment room and would, as you say, have had MANY wall mounted electronics. 3:38 ANOTHER amazing find and WORKING shutter, EE spotted this fast es good! Now I bring your attention to parts that are always MISSING from these as souevnirs. Notic the 2 bolt holes? There would have been 'wing bolts' here to LOCK the shutter closed. To prevent anyone forcing it open and throwing in a grenade! WONDERFUL EXAMPLE. These ran in a 'oil bath' during the war so never heavy. A little heavy gear oil was poured in the bottom and the shutter 'rode' on this! 4:17 As you say HH cable trunking, these would have had wooden covers. There is the remains onf a MASSIVE HIGH VOLTAGE cable - this bunker used a LOT OF POWER. 5:00 My late father was an Engineer in the Army he later worked for radar companies, Decca and Plessey he told me much about radar. This would have been a rotating small 'locator dish' with VERY accurate degree markings. To not interfere with the scanner that dome used SMALL amount of metal infilled with concrete, hence this struture. There would have been a metal pillar running through that hole to the ground and a traversing ring with motor. The blast door keeps people away as you DONT want to get near RADAR when its operating!😫 10:12 possibly the fan room for the ventilators? 10:43 NOW THEN now you get to the heart of the Mammut. THIS was the compensator room. The tubes all through the walls were hundreds of cables. The room would have been kept dark for that reason. The insulated ceiling as sitting still for long hours Heinrich, Dieter and Boris, would get cold. 11:43 those 2 'towers' with rungs were for ll the cables going uo to the array, possibly to help with running the cables up there? EE makes some amazing comments but as hes BEHIND you the mic cant pick him up , his insite is legendary! 12:13 THERE YA GO thats where all the power came from. Probably a huge MAN diesel engine with generator .5 Megawatt or more to raise the signal. These were a bit like the submarine engines you know HH. They sound beautiful and run like a Swiss watch. 13:16 SPOT ON EE CABLES!!! cable guides. That sand is hiding MANY secrets in the floor - shame. 14:41 STEPS going down into another room under that big pipe possibly a wave guide I THINK theres another floor below full of sand? WOW HOLY MAMMUT WHAT AN EXPLORE!! THANK YOU BOTH.👍👍👏👏👏👏👏 I WOULD SHACKLE all the grafitti vandals to the walls and make them SCRUB OFF the obsenity! NOT CALLED FOR damaging artifacts.

A lot of people don't realize that today's technology isn't modern at all, it's just modernized WW2 German, look at the Doppler radar used in weather forecasts, medical research, the nuclear program, space, the bolt action rifle, camouflage patterns, etc....

So true actually and like moderns cars are bragging about auto dimming headlights , car makers in the 50ths had that..Thanks William.

@@WW2HistoryHunter Exactly. Look at the delayed wipers, a German design. Look at the small arms, magazine release buttons, gas tubes, sights, pistol grips, plastics, all german designs, we stole everything. Einstein and Oppenheimer, they sure weren't good old boys from Alabama.

It absolutely makes me fume seeing graffiti on historically important structures, I'd love to paint those moose twits, destroying history, give em all a paint stripper, brushes, mops ,make em clean those bunkers and repaint them the way they were. Brave men on both sides died, bled, suffered.

@@WW2HistoryHunter Good morning, yes you said it, plain idiots, people today just don't care, if they only knew the pain, suffering, fear, death, etc....on both sides, young men, no more birthdays, holidays, family meetings, etc...they gave up all of their tomorrow's for our todays. It's the same here in the states, Graves destroyed, monuments ruined, cannon cut down for the brass , they need to repeat the past.
