My speedrun of Hitman Contracts from Speed Games United Summer 2018. Professional difficulty, Silent Assassin rating. Twitch: / thekotti Twitter: / thekotti
btw there was no agent smith in absolution, so 47 had to take his place himself. it makes sense. 47 had to sacrifice himself in order to maintain the old tradition. agent smith. getting captured. But 47 has advanced instincts which allow him to see future (like he can see enemies' paths in absolution), so he willingly approaches an enemy's trap to allow to get himself caught. he gets caught. he passes on the tradition. tradition of the trade. and he's tied to the chair too. the chair.
Watched this 2 or 3 years ago, and came back to day... I like TheKotti's playthroughs cause of the entertainment value. When he doesn't get SA I get just as disappointed as he does, and I like that, I like the ups and downs.
VERY underrated game! One of the best in the series. A real shame it's not popular in the speed running community or to speed run in general, even though it seems tailored made for it to me. I think it's because the hitman games aren't as easy to get into as the popular speed running games. In any case it still takes a hell of a lot of skill and knowledge to pull off the maneuvers he does. As a fellow contracts fan, I recognize and appreciate seeing the game played on such a high level .
When the submarine explodes, if I recall, a bunch of guards go and search the area. If I am remembering correctly, you'd have to knock out a group of like 5 guards (which bunches together) beforehand, and it's just more simple to depend on RNG with proper timing.
Basically no matter what you do, *any* Silent Assassin strat (not even speedrunning oriented) for Bjarkhov can only minimize the randomness and not really alleviate it, because blowing up the submarine causes guards to run to the sub and sometimes you might fail to kill off the one guard that stays behind with the explosion, which means you actually have to stand around and wait for him to be caught in blast radius. People often camp the sub so that they can make sure to claim EVERYONE in the explosion, and then they run into the soldiers that run to investigate because crossing their path causes their AI to forget what they were doing and they return. It's a shit mission, and one of the biggest issues with it is that the sub objective makes you kill off extra enemies (which is against the SA rating normally), but they don't count for you. What does count for you is any and all bodies found, however. It's stupid and is just a problem with how explosive kills work in H2 and 3. Since this speedrunning event is for entertainment rather than record setting, Kotti simply did the usual SA strat and gave the caveat that it has a pretty sizable rate of failure because of poor design. Also you can't knock out people willy-nilly because you only have one Syringe.
I feel like such a dunce. I've never played this Hitman game before, so during the level ratings I kept seeing "Professional" and was like "How is he missing all of these SA ratings!?" ...Then I saw that I was looking at the difficulty, not the rating. XD
the best hitman game to speedrun IMO. The fact that blood money added so many content to your inventory, rating system, and gameplay just doesn't do it for me although blood money is still a great game.
no one of methods can beat your time WAAADAAAAFAACCCCC but you fail in third mission the bjarkof bomb, yeaahhh i know that mission is hardest of all in Hitman Contaract
