Brilliant! You said you would cover the connection of the thermostat to your smartphone... Your coverage : "now your thermostat is connected..." Great that. Huge help.
Thank you very much. I had a new system installed yesterday 11th, and this unit was fitted. This has been a great help as the installer thought the schedule could be done from the thermostat as well as the phone.
Hi, Thanks for the Video.. You can actually change the target temp on the thermostat while in schedule mode. the target temp will remain till the next schedule kicks in.
Great video thankyou. I currently have a two zone system (radiators upstrais and UFH downstairs) connected via RF (Salus), and want to change to a smart thermostat (wifi & app) like Hive. Can I use one hive mini smarthub to control two zones wirelessly? or does one zone of the zones need to be a connected via a wired thermostat (like with Tado)? thanks in advance.
Do any of these devices communicate directly to each other, or do they do it via your wi-fi? We have a large house with external walls and wi-fi and/or Bluetooth will not stretch through the house. To solve this we have a wired in mesh network system.
Hi Rob, if you opt for a wired Hive thermostat, it's wired into your boiler so doesn't require WI-FI to communicate directly. However, to get the wireless Hive thermostat with the smart benefits, it requires WI-FI connection with your smartphone.
Pressing the fire button on receiver for around 10 seconds will make the blinking amber light disappear and it will turn white and the controller will connect in under 5seconds
says connected to me on my app but says demo all the time Will not turn heating on Rest so many times Hub Connected and thermostat But when i go on the main menu It says Cant reach your bub
Does this new version support open therm? Does it also learn how to heat the house like a smart thermostat should? I’ve got an early gen hive and it just turns boiler on and off like any other dumb thermostat. If I want to keep the house at 21oC it’ll keep the boiler until temp is met then turns off but then the temp keeps going up until 21.4oC then boiler stays off until it’s 20.9 where the boiler is fired again but as it takes time the room can drop to 20.5.
Hi Peter, the Hive doesn't support OpenTherm currently. It has all the amazing features of a smart thermostat including; instant alerts, frost protection, geolocation and holiday mode. Hive also claim it can save you up to £311 per year on your bills. The app is also one of the best out there and has lots of great features. We think it's definitely worth the upgrade and the switch from your old one to the new ones is pretty simple!
Moved into a house with hive. Downloaded the app. Instructions were to press the button on the back of the hub for 5 seconds, I can't even see a button to press. All plugged into my router and getting nowhere.
Hi Richard, switch off the power to your broadband router and Hive Hub. Turn the power to your router back on and wait for it to come back online, then turn on the power to your Hive Hub. Wait 5-10 minutes for your Hive Hub to reboot and then check that your thermostat is back online. The time should now be updated.
@@Heatable Thank you sir I didn't have to do all that you said Sunday morning the thermostat readjusted the time itself without touching it it automatically changed the time in line with my mobile I saw it happen
Sorry to say video and instructions are too rushed and too confused. Should be slowed down and should show a clear step-by-step guide. Can't even see if the guy is clicking/tapping on what/where.
