MR762's have a tapered bore. It's possible cutting it down affected accuracy. Also because these rifles don't have chrome lining, they are susceptible to copper fouling as well. I'd try cleaning it with a copper remover and see if this helps with groups. My MR762 groups sub moa with 175 FGMM ten shot groups. If you watch @110sassactual 's video on the MR762 his grouped a .597 MOA ten shot group as well with 175 FGMM and a light profile non LRP barrel.
The barrel cut thing is actually a myth. Check out Nefarious Arms. They make the best HK parts available in the US and have a few posts stating why that's not true.
Very cool build. My MR 762 doesn’t care for Ball either. It shoots 175 grain anywhere from .9 to 1.2 depending on how flaky I’m being and I’m talking about bagged up I think you got similar performance coming out of that rifle.
Very quickly - RKS USA actually has HK417 adjustable gas block. Still in stock as of right now (June 13th, 2024). Eye-watering expensive, but I hope this helps. Edit: looks like the verdict is that RKS USA is a no-go.
RKS USA’s definition of “in stock” differs from most. I know one person that has been waiting 4 years for a gas block from them that they purchased when it was “in stock”
If you don’t have north of 50rds through the barrel, I wouldn’t really be concerned about accuracy. It takes a few rounds to season the barrel. Nice build though.
If you want it accurate out of the box then it needs to be broken in by the manufacturer before you get the gun and I know they would use it as an excuse to charge you way more than it cost them. You can't make something and then expect it to be accurate immediately, because it's not in "working" condition, if you will. Barrel might still have tool marks on the inside, for example
I’ve got a 12.7 Lwrc repr I haven’t had a chance to shoot. Looking forward to see what kind of accuracy you get out of it at distance and the ammo it likes
All my 5.56 LWRCs love Federal Gold Metal Match 69 grain (even over Black Hills - and by a lot), so I don't doubt the REPR would do well with the equivalent.
I went with the dd5v3 and have it fully dressed out and it’s 1:11twist likes 175smk’s and 110gr v max/varmageddons..both group under 1” easy. Have Pepsi lids with 5rds on em at 100yrds..almost as good as my fn spr heavy barrel
Unless you go down the rabbit hole of reload, that rifle will not shoot a group that is worth mentioning. Other than that, as expected from you, great build. Your attention to detail is second to none. Thank you for the video
The Truth - that gun is waaay too heavy with that suppressor on it! The AGB is a MUST because shooting suppressed kinda sucks ! It makes your gun extremely dirty and front heavy. That stock sucks too it’s way too chunky awkward go with the slim line stock asap the 12in barrel is not meant to be shot at the bench so cut down in weight
