It might not be comparable if you're referring to the HKDSE, given that the HKDSE Chinese Language Paper is designed for native speaker, while the English Language Paper is designed for students using English as second language
Next time you can try to take the HKALE ( Hong Kong advanced level examination, replaced by HKDSE after year 2012). The HKALE papers are much more difficult than this. Hong Kong students (like me) are well-trained to complete these tests and exams but they are not essentially good at using English at work or life.
The HKDSE English isn’t hard but it’s more about rote memorization and copying than actually learning the concepts . For example, when I do reading B2 I simply just copy from the text rather than paraphrasing my answer because I know I won’t get marks if the marker doesn’t see a very specific keyword. The listening and integrated task is rather the same. It is all about copying and letting the marker see that you have written down the specific keywords rather than really answering the questions to your own ability. That’s why I like the Cambridge tests more . It seemed easier when I was doing Cambridge paper B2 as opposed to the HKDSE B2 paper because there seemed to be more flexibility and allowed paraphrasing . Even the Cambridge c1 papers are more fun btw HK students start to do HKDSE past papers from f4
The fact that we all know 2017 is an easier version is because we did basically every single year of the PP (past paper), and yah 2017 is really quite easy, comparing to 2015 and A level.
I think IELTS is comparatively easier than the HKDSE. Well, I took the 2019 and 2020 HKDSE but my results aren't really that appealing (at least from a Hong Kong student's perspective). XD
Put pimple pastes on foot, hand, back and face if there is a drilling hole. Mothballs beside the window can help air purifier do a better job. Mothballs also can help washing machine to make clothes cleaner. Hang out clothes indoor without being polluted by the virouses air flow. Bath with alcohol and sanitizer because the water tower is polluted by the virous bubbles in the air. Bleach can kill the virous air flow hiding under the ground which looked like yellow even brown if it's serious. Car outside especially its wheels needs to pesticide.
Hi Logan, I've been enjoying your videos for awhile now! You can also try out the Singapore A level H1 General Paper exam (which is equivalent to an english college entrance exam paper)!
Not grown up in the era of HKDSE (but in the past era of 2-stage, HKCEE+HKALE instead), I still think that the present generation is far lighter and luckier than mine.
the HKDSE is the combination of the HKCEE and the HKALE (A-LEVEL, you must try the A-Level English test... and the HKCEE English (Syllabus B) Exam. The older year of the Exam is much difficult than the new one...
2020 DSEr, reading 5** I can tell u that DSE doesn't care about punctuation or how you answer at long as the points you answered are in the answer book you'd probably get a full mark
well... 2009 HKCE student, in my memories, 2003 is one of the difficult exams in HK and AL seems the last one... but as I know about the DSE, 2016 is the hardcore one 09CE考生,當年有傳03年是血流成河的一年,而AL好像合併前那年是最難,DSE最狂好像是16
Sorry to tell you this, Logan. But I think you had failed the test. Only black or blue pen is the official color allowed for test takers to use, if i remember correctly. 😂😂😂
I think 2019 is the most difficult, then 2013, form a 2019 DSEer Usually, If the articles are easy and did not have many difficult words, the question would be difficult and if the articles are difficult, then the questions would be easy and more direct. BUT, both the articles and questions are very very very difficult in 2019 DSE Normally, Part A is very easy, but this part is already difficult in 2019 I never got below level 5 in all the reading past paper but got only 4 in my real DSE
@@LoganBeck Good work! I got a 5 on my test, and that was moons ago. I don't think kids these days can write three essays in 90 minutes--and that includes reading a poem and a short story AND analyzing them. Maybe I should move back to Taiwan to teach English there. Kids here just don't care.
