HKS Supercharged BRZ Finally goes back on the Dyno! 

Turbo boys on 86gt and brz usually go straight E85 which will see most gains and benefits for the motor. 98 on supercharger should be ok but will need ecu and tune.

It’s not a torque dip, more like a torque hump before it. Gives you more daily torque while shifting at ~3,500 RPM. The alternative would have been a gradual ramp up of torque, which is what most cars do normally.

No. It's not a MUST! . it helps but those things you listed is definitely not recent close to being"A Must"..

Before a supercharger it def helps if you add some handling

Just get a centrifugal supercharger. Belt driven turbo essentially. Makes all the whistle and air escaping noises but keep smooth linear power throughout the power band

Honestly it's fun but I almost think a max NA on e85 is the better build or a small turbo build.

@@YSoAggressive Yeah I disagree with that comment lol. I went Sprintex because I wanted the twin-screw torque instead of centrifugal, and couldn't be happier. Dead simple torque increase, tons of low-mid power as well which is fun for the street, it's a different animal and internals haven't been touched. Tuned on stock injectors as well. Turbo is fun, I own turbo cars, but supercharged is the way to go on the 86 platform IMO unless you're trying for dyno numbers and not driving experience. Small turbo? May as well supercharge it :D

@@ziggyz6423 I’ve been running the same tune since August of last year and I’ve had zero serious problems but I have had to readjust my coolant hoses but that’s it

I have the Tomei Catless UEL on my 18 brz, it added about 18hp/10tq overall, and flattened out the curve to where its almost unnoticable. EDIT: with the OFT Stage2+ Tune as well

@@deadeyed373 Odd coincidence: +18 hp and +10 ft-lbs of torque were exactly what I had estimated from pouring over countless dyno runs (of other BRZs and FR-Ss) and excel spreadsheet diddling. Your set up and tune is very similar to mine. My power and torque gains are a pure guestimation on my part. I think we are in the right ballpark though. If so my 18 hp cost about $155 a per hp with all the parts, labor, and shipping included. That doesn't include the three sets of wheels and tires I now own and the new speakers, sound deadening, convex door mirrors, gurney flap spoiler, and mud flaps. I just got back from a drive on my favorite local twisty loop and I say the money was well spent: it is measured in smiles per hour.

@@etoineschrdlu9382 nice man! Yeah it was between 15-20 and 8-12 depending on he run, I just grabbed the middle numbers for convenience. Only other mod I have besides the header is a Q300 catback. I have an HKS turbo on the way so that’s next, but this served me quite well for the time being and is only a couple hundred bucks in the long run for it to run much smoother and pretty much have flat acceleration

No stop to much power for tyres is loosing traction in 4th gear

@@2511jeremy I'm full stock and I lose traction on 3rd gear sometimes going hard, so with 250whp probably will be worst hahah

It's on the to do list. The test drive home was a whole bunch of spinning.

They have covers for both left and right side to fix this. Only costs like 14$

OP and FP is a waste. Do header and OFT and run e85. Best bang for your buck for power

@@JFlogerzi OP isn't a waste with a header, especially supercharged. But I agree if no header, OP/FP isn't going to do much but change exhaust tone and could even lose power.

@@badluckms408 the OP is gonna net such a small gain plus potential rattle/fitment issues rather spend the money on other mods like suspension or other items.

That would have been a nice touch. Explaining fueling and showing the power curve. But just a peak power number that you can tune for specifically

We don't recommend wrapping headers. We would suggest going with our ceramic coated options.

a little late but absolutely. the headers is what helps get rid of that torque dip to begin with.

200hp is at the crank 170hp on the wheels

Dang. I wonder what new gen is at the engine. I dynoed my Gen 2 and stick it put down 218 on a mustang dyno. Dyno jet estimate was like 240whp. Toyota is definitely lying about engine hp…no way it’s 228 from factory.

Its possible but its not something we are tested for in Iowa.
